Preach to strangers? Nope. If someone I know asks me about vaping, I'll tell 'em about it and if they seem at all interested, I'll hook 'em up with some gear and juice. "Here, try this and see if it works for you like it did for me. Any questions, just ask."

I spent a bit more than an hour sitting in the outdoor designated smoking area at a smaller international airport today (my departing flight was delayed). There was a fairly steady stream of smokers. Only one person asked me about my vape and she was a non-smoker who was there with a smoker. "What are you smoking?" "It's not smoke, it's vapor," and I explained it to her. I have a sneaking suspicion that the guy she was with (who seemed utterly disinterested) will be urged to try vaping in the not too distant future. :D

Like others, I don't preach to those who don't ask about it, however, I am happy to give witness to the wonders of vaping to anyone who does ask. :)

In fact, it happened just today. I was in the car in the parking lot of the laundromat where I had just dropped off my son to do his laundry since his car broke down. I was waiting for him to get done and happily vaping while I read a bit, and a guy who had just parked a few spaces away (no other cars around) asked loudly if I liked those and if they worked. I happily told him I loved them and yes they did. He said a co-worker where he worked just got one, and seemed to like it, but he was still on the fence. I went ahead and told him that while the gas station cigalike varieties may help a bit, if he really wanted a good start he should look into some of the better starter types such as the ego, which is what I had with me. He asked about where to get them, and I told him of the one vape shop around the area that carried them and higher end equipment, although expensive, and also suggested he look at some of the places (I named a few) online where he could find a good selection. I also told him about the forum here, so maybe he'll drop in. He seemed genuinely interested.

I've had lots of times like that, some less specific, just general stuff, and some more in-depth. I'll get as into it as the other person seems to want. No one likes to be preached at, so if someone else isn't interested, or only asks general questions, I tend to let them lead the way.

I preach vape like a professional panhandler

no seriously, I'll only talk vape if asked questions about it.

me too and dittos that only if asked. We had the weekly vape shop trip today and a young couple was in (and get this, is different) vaping to cut back and eliminate [Moderated] (congrats) so they needed some help the one employee was overwhelmed with a rush of customers (when they see we're there with the puppies the "hot rod" kids stop in)

but only if I'm asked, one of the most annoying things and a complete turn off to me when I was a smoker was the "rabid ex smoker" and their diatribe.

So remembering that and being positive is way more effective for change...I limit my sermons to those that request it. :D

Anytime something has changed you world and you become passionate about it..........yes you welcome questions and try to help anyone who will listen. I helped a friend with COPD and it was wonderful seeing her improvement. Her doctors were amazed too. I guess the fact that I am not sane and have never met a stranger also has something to do with it.:sneaky: I sure wish someone had talked to me about it but I never saw anyone vape until I started. I can't wait until it is odd to see someone with a real cigarette. :D

I so agree with this. Yes, I chat with anyone who expresses an interest. I am the only one within my circle who stopped smoking using vapor, I have several friends who have cut down on their analogs and from time to time they call or stop by to ask about a new flavor or how i did/do this or that. Progress, however slow, is good.

No, see signture.

I was wondering who of you guys try and convert analog smokers over to the light side? Personally I love to talk about vaping to anyone who will listen, and I have helped to get some people to switch. I was just wondering what your guys thoughts were, maybe you think its rude or too pushy? Maybe you think its our civic duty to inform anyone and everyone about the great alternative to cigs that is vaping?

Whenever I have conversations with a smoker I always offer to let them try my e cig, and most times that gives me a an in to tell them about it. I don't try and cram it down anyones throat by any means I just try and give myself an opening to let them try it for themselves, and if they want to know more I do my best to answer there questions.

My grandmother (who I love more than anyone in this world) has emphysema due to years of smoking, and her health is always in question because of it. I just feel that If I have a chance to help one other persons mom, dad, grandma or grandpa be on this earth with them just one day longer then I am doing what would make my own grandmother proud
