At one month I rewarded myself with a *big* order - including a complete starter set + goodies for my sister.

At two months I rewarded myself with a new type of e-cig that I wanted to try but I had been hesitant to shell out the money on something unknown when my V4L stuff works so great. :)wub: them both now, happy to say.)

My three month anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks. I told myself when I put out the last cigarette on March 11 that if I could make it for 90 days that I would treat myself to something great. So in anticipation, today I booked my plane ticket! I'm taking my mom to Vegas the second weekend in June! (Symbolic, as she - an avid *non* smoker - brought an e-cig with her for me and my sister to try on our last trip to Vegas in January.)

Does anyone else play these incentive games with themselves?

ps - Nevada, I'd love some insider info on what to do/where to go while I'm there. Mom tends to stick to the strip (meh), and I won't have my sister with me to run amok this time...

Just curious - what's your milestone? Do you have your reward picked out yet? :)

I'm a big believer in celebrating the small victories that lead up to larger ones. The 90 day marker is a biggie for me, since keeping the bargain I made with myself is good to keep sub-conscious monsters at bay.

I think in general that many good people are better about punishing themselves than rewarding themselves, and I choose to do the latter and try to avoid the former...

I agree - Good timing! And that 1 year mark is HUGE! Did you and hubby quit together?

~krash
We had to, i've wanted to quit for years, but knew i couldn't do it if he was still smoking. i did the research in the meantime and when he came to me and said he wanted to quit, i told him about e-cigs. He looked over the info, i timed our 1st order out to coincide with our tobacco supply running out and we quit on July 28 and 29 after 37 and 36 years of smoking. Quit on our 1st try - vaping is the only way to go!

Edited to Add: he was 1-1 1/2 packs a day, i was 2-3 (up to 5 on super bad days) so without e-cigs, quitting would not have been possible.

My husband and I essentially quit together as well. He quit shortly after I did, but he'd tell you it was completely accidental. He had no desire to quit - or even to try to quit - and really didn't mean to do it. I had smoked for 24 years and was at about 2 packs a day and inching up, he smoked for 35 years, but near the end had only smoked hand-rolled cigs 3 or 4 cigs per day. I was pretty sure he could do it, but not so sure about myself.

I made it *so* *incredibly* *easy* for him that he didn't even realize it had happened. I think he's still half convinced that there is a carto fairy that fills his cartos for him, hunts down flavors that he might like, and buys him shiny new batteries in his preferred colors (currently black w/green LED), and fixes all of the minor irritations like cartos that don't connect right or batts that need cleaning. :) But I couldn't have done it unless he did too...

i know that fairy... had to tell hubby to warn me when he was getting low on supplies because they don't show up magically like the ryo smokes i made everyday. I do have him set up with his own charging station and taught him to charge his batteries B4 tossing his cartos (still doing prefills - will get into juices, etc when supplies are flowing freely again)

My one month was on Thursday and my big order arrived on Wednesday. I now have a PT in the car! I think it's good to reward yourself if you can. but I am way over budget this month, so it's time to slow down a bit! Maybe...

congrats Bogey on 1 month !!! :)

ok..I should be sleeping in prep for my cross country tour..but yes I do reward myself along the way...sometimes it's with an order for things I haven't tried from V4L or a cute purse etc... I recently ordered a PT, haven't used it but pulled it out tonight for the lovely 12-14 hour trip each way we have ahead of ourselves. Hubby was like ' that thing isn't coming in my truck' I said oh yeah...ya wanna make the trip alone? Actually I won't over use it... he has really relaxed on my vaping so I won't over do it..buy hey I'll give it a try. Again..everyone have a wonderful weekend and I'll catch up with you next week.

Morandir my friend...is your date of Jan 2011 really right? I've been around a little longer than that and it seems like you've always been here. If not.. why are you so smart and I'm not.....oh the age thing:)
