Do you reward yourself for non-smoking-related milestones?

I dont. I dont feel the need to reward myself for not killing myself.

Ive been off 2 1/2 weeks and no issues. I dont smoke anymore. Not smoking is reward enough.

I am starting to have some vivid and odd dreams that involve family car accidents and me smoking and regreting it. I wake up and I'm all "what was that about!" lol

Seems the dreams are very common. I've been off 10 months and still have an odd one once in a while. :w00t:

My one month was on Thursday and my big order arrived on Wednesday. I now have a PT in the car! I think it's good to reward yourself if you can. but I am way over budget this month, so it's time to slow down a bit! Maybe...

Congrats on one month, Bogey! It does get easier, and the spending does slow down... a bit...

Sadly, I'm not completely off the nasties. I AM however making progress. My reward for all those I didn't smoke, is clicking the submit order on V4L website!!!!! (for now anyway)

Every one you don't smoke is a victory! :)

ok..I should be sleeping in prep for my cross country tour..but yes I do reward myself along the way...sometimes it's with an order for things I haven't tried from V4L or a cute purse etc... I recently ordered a PT, haven't used it but pulled it out tonight for the lovely 12-14 hour trip each way we have ahead of ourselves. Hubby was like ' that thing isn't coming in my truck' I said oh yeah...ya wanna make the trip alone? Actually I won't over use it... he has really relaxed on my vaping so I won't over do it..buy hey I'll give it a try. Again..everyone have a wonderful weekend and I'll catch up with you next week.

Morandir my friend...is your date of Jan 2011 really right? I've been around a little longer than that and it seems like you've always been here. If not.. why are you so smart and I'm not.....oh the age thing:)

Love the passthru in the car... love the passthru pretty much anywhere... :) Travel Safe!

That is indeed my join date with ecf Ms. Iowa Gal, though was lurking for two months before hand trying to find the right pv... And don't insult yourself, you are smart. I just happen to have ocd.... :)

OCD comes in handy sometimes - I figure this time the OCD may actually be a lifesaver - and it may also enable me to speak authoritatively regarding every waffle flavor from every e-juice vendor on the planet.... :/

For *me*, not smoking was not enough. I still enjoyed smoking when I quit (didn't enjoy aspects of it, but I did enjoy it). Y'all are stronger than me, I have to reward myself or I will sabotage myself.

call me crazy but I tend to enjoy the wild dreams that I actually remember the last few weeks.

Just passed a month myself and picked up an IGO as a reward. Which is a double as I can now pass my KR8 stuff to my mother and hopefully get her to make the switch now as well.

Funny about the dreams - glad to have skipped on that - After the bout with Chantix, I'm happy enough not to remember my dreams.

Strigol, Congrats on Month One! The IGo was my 2 month reward, and I really like it, but am glad I have both.

When does this "slow down" happen, Krash? I am still waiting. I guess my reward will come with all the "cash back"rewards from my new much bigger Discover balance every month. What should I do with all that cash back? Maybe a V4L sale.......?

LOL - sounds like a good use for it to me!

Mind you by "slow down" I mean that I've gone from ordering twice a week to maybe once every 10 days, so I might not be a good one to ask. I figure I'm doing better if I can wait for the 28% off sales instead of the 12% off sales.....

I didn't reward myself on milestones, other than to note them with surprise and satisfaction, because I was over-spending like crazy to begin with. But today was my 4-month smoke-free anniversary, and I had been so good about passing up several recent sales (!), that I went ahead and splurged today on the "no shipping" deal in order to stock-up on a few daily vape juices.

(Okay, the FDA seizure thing also has me a bit paranoid. I may splurge every 10 days if I start feeling more panicky!:unsure::unsure:)

Congrats Eleanor! How does it feel to be a good example? :)

This thread has me trying to figure out rewards that are unrelated to money for my next milestones. Maybe I should plan some sort of activity that smoking made difficult for my 6-month anniversary? I'd like to go back to Mesa Verde and climb the ladders to the prehistoric cliff dwellings now that I can breathe better and climb stairs without gasping.

Or maybe closer to home - http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/enchanted_rock/
The last time I tried to climb Enchanted Rock, I literally had to lay down on the rock half way up. It's likely a much more pleasant experience when you can breathe...

I think those are excellent ideas, if you're otherwise physically capable!:)

I haven't even thought about rewarding myself because I guess in a way I don't feel like I quit smoking. I did...I understand that. But, I don't feel like anything is that different for me other than it's a lot more fun, I'm enjoying it so much more, I don't smell like an ashtray and I can vape in the house. So I guess I'd better start thinking of rewards huh?! Let's see...I've always wanted to go to Italy...

That's exactly the way I feel about it. When I quit smoking (without vaping) years ago I would reward myself. For one anniversary, I got myself some gardening equipment, 18 different kinds of hot pepper seeds and went to it (my neighbors thought I was nuts as my garden consisted of 18 varieties of hot peppers and 2 tomato plants, lol). But stopping smoking with vaping was so easy that I don't feel the need for rewards - other than buying another battery or more juice.

Congrats on the anniversaries guys and gals.
