Do you still use clearos and cartos after stepping up to RBAs?

I still use one or more of my PT 2s every day, but I do rebuild them. I like the smaller size when I leave the house, but I use them at the house too.

Although I have only had my Kayfun's for a few days I don't think I'll be giving up all the other clearo's and carts I have.

Right now I have 2 eGo style batteries with mini PT3's on them, 2 Vamo V5's with a Nautilus on one and a Eleaf iJust on the other, a New provari with one of the KFL+'s and 4 (Count them 4) Halo G6 batteries all with carto's or Mini clear tank on them. I Vape them all at one point or another throughout the day.

I keep and use the G6 stuff because it is easy to carry around, stick in my pocket, hold in my mouth and don't need any hands to activate them (One is a Manual battery that I have a Blu Cig carto on with an adapter). I'm vaping on one of the G6 batteries right now while I am typing with both hands.

I'm not a cloud chaser. I vape to stay away from cigarettes.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll just hold onto everything. Probably wouldn't get much selling them anyway. I'll use the clearos for "simple" juices like menthol, for which I don't notice much difference between clearo and RBA, and for juices I don't vape regularly. My regular lineup of juices and any complex/gourmet (i.e. expensive) juices I try will be vaped with RBAs to get the full flavor. I don't think I'll ever use my G6 cig-a-likes again, however. Still, I'll keep them around for sentimental value since they helped me quit smoking initially

You guys who build coils for Protanks - is there a big improvement over prebuilt, or do you do it mainly to cut costs? Can you point me to a good tutorial? Thanks.

I gave away all of my old clearos to people starting vaping after I started using drippers.

I have had a couple kayfun style atties for around a month. For convenience, I was still using my rebilt mini Kanger Protank 2s and used them exclusively at work, on vv egos, with a neck lanyard. Now that I have a proper pouch and neck lanyard for my 18350 SiD, I have not used a PT2/ego setup in the last 2 weeks.

At home, I use my kayfuns on a mech mod with a Kick 2. I much prefer the flavor and airflow that the Kayfun style atties provide. I doubt that I will go back to a clearo ever again. Now I have to decide what to do with all these clearos. Darn those kayfuns, I love 'em ;-)

Rebuilding the coils does improve the flavor and vapor production a noticeable amount, to me. I used 30 gauge Kanthal A1 and wrapped them to around 1.6 ohms. I think it turned out to be 7 wraps on a 1/8" drill bit. pbusardo and Rip Trippers have good rebuilding videos on YouTube.

Mini Protank Micro Coil Rebuild - YouTube One thing I did different from Rip, I would leave the 1/8" drill bit inside the coil when installing it into the head. This allows you to position the coil more easily. I also preferred using 30g kanthal instead of 28g.

If you are using a Protank 3 or Areo tank, I think Rip Trippers has videos on rebuilding those as well. It takes some practice to get the hang of it. The end result is worth it though.

Haven't rebuilt one in a while but I always did it both because it was cheaper and a better vape. I would just tear the Kanger build out of there and replace first thing.

Yeah... I do.

I tried using RBA's with Many Different Loop/Diameters/Ohms combinations. They were OK.

Just didn't give me the Hit I like from a OPMP Mod-ed CE2. It all has to do with the Distance of the Coil to the End of the Mouth Piece for me.

I sold all m y clearo's and carto tanks, got 4 kayfuns, 2 drippers, got 2 black kayfuns and 4 more drippers coming, it's nice not to have to worry about keep buying carto's and coils, and also the expense of them, with kayfun and drippers, I can choose what sort of vape I want at pennies for supplies for them.

Don't feel bad. I have 10 PT2s, 3 full size and 7 minis. I am going to give a few away to friends and possibly sell the rest. I also have at least 8 unopened 5-packs of heads.

Very......very rarely....and the Clearos are all rebuilt. Just to get nicotine.....the dramatic difference in taste and density alone is the reason.

I use my 2 ProTank2 on my VTRs. I still use my carto tanks, but with a Sophia. I kept my cartos for backup. And I have Kayfuns.

Every other clearo I had I got rid of a long time ago because I did not like them.

I've only had my first RDA for a few weeks, and I'm already looking at my Protanks with some disdain. You're just not as flavorful and rich, guys. You no longer thrill me. The magic is gone. I'm gonna play around with some microcoil builds on them, see if I like em any better than the plain old 3/4 I've been doing. I really feel my coils work better than stock coils, at least most of the time. But I think I'm gonna be buying more RBAs soon, because this poor dripper's doing all the work lately.

I bought one carto tank awhile ago because I'd never tried one and it was cheap. I get why some people would love them, they hold a lot of juice and the draw is really tight. I just don't want it that tight, and I can still taste the polyfill. And it's a mess to fill. No love, it got relegated to the box of lesser vape stuff, might get used on day trips or something like that.

I kept hold of my clearos for a while, I've got rid of all of them now, apart from one. Given the rest to new vapers and some guys interested in trying them at work. I'm using RDAs, and use my old eGo case to keep wick, wire, scissors etc in. I've got my last evod+eGo with a fresh head in there just incase something goes wrong and I don't have time to rebuild, but it hasn't been used for months.

I have a couple of PT2 minis. My biggest issue with them is that should I fall into a chain vape session (at about 4v) I will kill the wick in NO time.

It was costing me A LOT to replace the cartridge attys. Not to mention the complete crap shoot quality wise for the Kanger heads.

If they were more reliable I dont think I ever would have gotten into mechs, kayfuns, drippers etc etc

PITA to build too. I can rebuild a kayfun or dripper in my sleep, so save for the size convenience of throwing a PT mini on an ego I find to advantage to this.

I did stumble across a spare replacement head the other day and set up a PT just for laughs. Stepping back actually wasn't as terrible as I thought. It still isnt going to make it to my starting line though
