I quit 2 weeks ago and although I was eventually planning on quitting my "quit date" wasn't planned. Just got so happily busy working on my cars that I literally forgot all about vaping. Will I ever vape again...I don't know BUT I do know I will NEVER light another analog ever again and would have no hesitation of going back to vaping if the need ever arose.

Congrats!!! You better not disappear on us!

Thank you Caridwen...problem is I found a new U.S. Auto Parts Supplier with amazing selection, pricing and CS so just like a kid in a candy store making excuses for every purchase which means more repairs/ upgrades  Really quite happily busy with the cars but ECF and many folks such as yourself will ALWAYS draw me back here.

I enjoy vaping too much to even think of stopping now. Anything is possible and that may change. I do hope to reach zero nic and no inhaling at all... just vaping for the taste. Of no small significance is my revulsion at big brother messin with me or having any power over me. I don't think they will mess with diabetic, dieters, etc, who vape for food tastes without eating those foods.

All this talk of quitting this or that made me take stock... I think it's time I quit... all this quitting!!

I reached a certain point in my early 20's I quit growing. Then I quit single life... which led me to quit playing in loud rock bands, chasing women and hanging in bars/clubs all night. That led me to quit goofing around with my career.

Then came kids so I quit wasting money on fast cars, boats, guitars & amps, fishing gear, latest golf clubs... Then I quit married life and had a brief relapse from several of those other things I had quit. Then I quit single life again... resumed more quitting... tried quitting carbs, tried quitting Texas Bar-B-Q, tried quitting fast food, tried quitting tequila more than a few times!!!

You get the point...

Six months ago I quit smoking and haven't been prouder of any of all that other quitting combined.

I've decided to cut back on this darn quitting. Going to enjoy my life, vape as I see fit and have a good time!! :2cool:

This is going to sound bizarre...but I started vaping five years after I quit smoking.

The reason is going to sound more bizarre.

I have thyroid disease and nothing has been helping these past few years. (Yes, I am medicated and have regular blood drawn.) I was sleeping every day in the middle of the day, and exhausted...depressed. Tried everything, including diet (a big one with me, I believe foods have a lot to do with our general health).

So unrelatedly, I had been having so many dreams about smoking and about that "ahh" feeling I had had while smoking (counterintuitive I know, considering nicotine is a stimulant). I heard about vapes, I think it was probably the Blu commercials on TV. And I thought...why not try this...just to relax and chill. And I did and since then I've been awake and peppy in a way caffeine, thyroid drugs and food choices (and exercise, etc.) just didn't do.

It is so odd but I actually feel that it's helping me in that way. Yes, I know it's a drug, etc. I also know I've been living a half-dead life for years. If vapes hadn't ever come onto the market I'd never had made that association and in fact it took me months before I drew the parallel myself.

So for now, no, I don't intend to quit vaping.

Hypo? Sounds like your T4 and T5 levels are WAY low.

My wife, who was a smoker and is now my vaping buddy (we quit smoking and started vaping together) was HYPER. They tried meds to throttle hers back. Unfortunately, they could not regulate her thyroid down and keep it down enough so eventually it was decided to kill hers off with Radioactive Iodine. I guess her thyroid was a little like her; wild, uncontrollable and always full throttle. LOL!!

Best of luck. Let me know if you ever need to discuss thyroid issues with someone. My wife is all into it.

I find that i vape much more than i ever smoked so it is possible that my nic addiction is no where near going away. i have gone from 24mg to 18mg and plan on continuing down to 0mg. I will be interested to see how I do as I switch to 12mg.

Stay with it though. i am 7 weeks without an analog and dont plan on looking back.

I may or may not ever quit vaping. I want to make sure that I won't ever go back to cigs. Now that I've quit smoking and I rarely drink anymore, vaping is my only vice. I'm ok with that. Considering that we know that nicotine by itself is about as addictive as caffeine, I could be doing far worse. On the other hand, if research (actual research from multiple sources, not "junk science") shows that vaping is detrimental, I will quit vaping without a second thought. If I can quit a 22 year dependence on one of the most addictive drugs known to man, I can damn sure quit this if need be.

Not this time. I did it before, weaning to 0 nic and then stopping altogether for over 3 years. One night out drinking and I was a full time smoker again. I really don't ever plan to stop vaping this time, even when I'm at 0 nic again. I may not do it as often, but I will always have my gear handy.

It's not just a good stinky stick replacer, it's a great dessert replacer, too. And I'm more addicted to sweets than I've ever been to cigs. :p

I think it just feels like we vape more. I mean, it took me about 5-10 minutes to smoke a cigarette. So let's say about 7 minutes. I was smoking about 15 cigarettes a day. That's over 100 minutes a day spent smoking.

Now, let's say every puff you take is, 10 seconds. Just because that's a nice round number. Let's say you took that puff continuously for 100 minutes. There's 6000 seconds in 100 minutes. Divide that by 10 seconds and you get 600.

Does anyone puff 600 times a day? I don't have a puff counter so maybe I have NO idea how much I'm actually vaping but 600 puffs sounds like a LOT. That's 33 vapes every hour over an 18 hour waking day - like, once every 2 minutes.

and I'm just doing this math in my head so if I'm off, please correct me. I might be high on nic LOL

Switching to vaping 3 weeks ago was huge for me after 30 years of smoking, especially since I didn't plan to quit.

As for quitting vaping, I am postponing that thought, mostly. :) Though I have to say I'd like to get down to 6mg nic and at some point 0, because of my health and heart disease runs in my family. My lungs were the most pressing problem with COPD and for that I'm just too happy to be vaping instead of killing my lungs and myself. I'm already breathing better and it's like Wow!
