I had a doctor's visit last week and told her that I was going to start vaping again to get off analogs. I was surprised that she stressed that this was a way to quit but must be used as a "gateway" and must be discontinued ASAP. I have been smoking for @ 40 years and if I decide to vape til I am gone, so be it. I do not understand some MD's hostility to this. I definitely want to get to 0 nicotine at some point but I see this is much healthier. Why can't she see this as an improvement to what I have been doing? 2 packs per day. Anybody else have this reaction from their MD's?

I honestly think I would find a new Dr. My Dr was very excited that I discovered vaping as an alternative to smoking and If I were to tell any of you the honest complete truth about how much better I feel and how much better my life is in general you would either think I was exaggerating or flat out lying. I don't have to be a Dr to know the last three months have been filled with me feeling healthy in a way I haven't felt in 20 years.

I never sought to quit smoking, just have a healthier way to indulge my mental as well as physical habit. The ability to adjust nicotine levels and all the flavors are only icing on the cake. If you really want to lose the nicotine cravings, slowly lower your level till you hit zero and then get to work on the mental addiction. The best part is now you have choices. You are in control, not 'big tobacco'. Good luck, have fun!

My question is this:

Are you quite content and satisfied to be vaping with no plans to quit as opposed to smoking or is there anyone else out there that thinks of vaping as maybe a reverse gateway to quit everything altogether?

What say you?

I'll probably quit at some point in the future, but for the present I'm quite content to have simply stopped smoking analogs... And, at this point though I could probably stop vaping, I'm too heavily invested in gadgets and DIY goodies to think about it... :)

I really don't plan on quitting, but I've made purchases that will allow me to get out with a decent flip if I should choose. I mean, people will buy a used Provari all day. I like being a dragon, so the plume is more my deal and not the nicotine. I just got my 0mg juices last night, and I'm waiting for usps to drop off my provari right now. I've been a casual marlboro/camel winston light smoker for 20 years, and I've tapered off to half pack a week depending if I'm playing music or at happy hour.

^^^^ That is why I got into pipe smoking! Cooler toys, more flavors, and the ability to clear out a room of cigar smokers with a few huge puffs of Latakia! I'm kinda curious what the guys at the cigar bar will say with my new Provari... I bet they think I have hippie lettuce in it...

HAHAHAHA Hippe Lettuce pretty sure that is the greatest thing I have read in a long time. Thank you for that!

Yes I do while I agree vaping is far better/healthier then cigarettes id rather not be dependant on nicotine at all as much as I enjoy it

At least now im not in a big rush to stop as I haven't got stinky breath clothes and fingers from cigarettes id like to cut down and eventually just leave it in the press and use it when im having a few beers as thats when I miss smoking the most

Only it I forget to order juice. lol, and if that happens can go to the local smoke shop and pick up their excuse for e-liquid, that will tide me over for the 2 business days that it takes MBV to get a juice delivery. or 3 business days for AV.

Started vaping so that I wouldn't have to give up anything. I have been a much happier being since I started to vape. tis my happy drug of choice.

I have no plans to quit vaping. It replaced cigarettes and it's a LOT more enjoyable. I love vaping my Turkish juice in the mornings with my coffee, and the nicotine in it is no worse for me at 11 mg. than the caffeine in my coffee. So why give it up? Vaping has given me a healthier alternative to smoking and a wonderful new hobby as well, plus a social network of new vaper friends. Why would I want to give that up?
