Does anyone know how much of a profit hit the Big Tobacco companies took since e-cigs have become popular?

In the grand scheme of things, the effects on their profits has probably been minimal. They've been losing profits in the U.S. for years and making it up in other countries, primarily less developed nations. That's their new "gold mine".

BP has more to risk and they're the main opponents of e-cigs. BT will get into it. BP will fight it.

...........I suspect that the Tobacco lobbyist is involved with banning e-cigs.

What are your thoughts???

That is completely wrong. Big Tobacco could care less other than to get into the market themselves. It is Big Pharm that is bank rolling the efforts to have vaping banned. There are numerous articles and threads on this,.

Yeah, I think BT was in favor of seeing it classified as a drug. Then, they could just continue business as usual without having to make any further investments in R&D or anything. Had they been classified as a drug, they'd have remained so small that BT wouldn't have been threatened at all.
Since that's no longer an option and e-cigs are a tobacco product competing directly with cigarettes, they want a piece of the action.
Now, it's BP who stands to lose money on their concoctions and prescription poisons.
