I stopped messing about with the foam in the mouthpiece.

Now my atties dont get that foal burnt taste anymore. Ive stopped cleaning any of my atties.

I think its because the fine hairs get loose the more you mess with foam. More fine strands get loose and fall into the bridge/atomizer element. Then you need to clean it.

Just let the foam form a shape (its formed by natuarally pushing against the bridge over time), no loose strands to gunk up the atty.

Anyone agree?

just to clarify im talking about the mouthpiece that attaches to the atomizer.

standard foam that comes in the tip pre installed.

i got 18mg pre loaded juice tips from liberty flights 5 pack when i bought my first pv 901.

i also got round tips (901 has the flat tip usually) for 901 from health cabin. they came with foam already inside them (dry). $1 for 5.

To a certain extent, yes.

But eventually, the foam on the bridge will start to soften and stick together soon forming a full, juice flow stopping plug

Then it'll be time for either a new/fresh cart or a new foam plug.

Here's what I do...see how long the polyfill is? Doesn't have to be. Take it out of the cart. Cut it into 3 separate pieces using SHARP scissors. Fill the empty cart up with liquid up to the little 'ledge' you see on there, where it goes into the atty. I can usually get anywhere between 10-13 drops in it. Then, take the LITTLE piece of polyfill and pop it back on the top, leaving about 1mm or less of space from the edge of the cart and you're good to go.

I think that's where the drinking straw mod would shine. My problem with poly fill is that it recedes back down into the cart over time. I have to pull it up when I top it off. Having a ledge (short straw) under the plug would keep it where it is supposed to be.

I've found that washing the poly fill material periodically helps a great deal. When I wash it, I can always feel a hard spot in the end where I push and pull it with a paper clip. It gets compressed by doing that and I can always put it 8-10 drops after washing and drying the fill plug.

^^ yes the polyfill, thank you. what im saying is the polyfill becomes shaped by the bridge and should not be tampered with at all. tamper and loose fibers go into the atty bridge and coil.
Wrongo!

It your filling material sticks to the bridge, or the coil, you have vaped your cart too dry. With time you will tell when your cart is about empty.

FWIW I don't wash my fill I dispose of it when it no longer performs as new, after about 4 days. I use the HighPing mod, that is what Domino is referring to in her post. No fiddling and renders a vape similar to dripping.

As others have said, leaving impressions in the filler will become a plug for your liquid, causing it to flow down the side of the cart vs uniformly and flodding the atty.
