not sure if anyone has asked this before, if they have, sorry for asking again but i cant find any thread on this subject.

basicaly, id like to know if the dse905 (chinese copy of the screwdriver) is inferior to trog's original screwdriver. Is the vapour production the same? Id imagine the build quality isnt as good, the screwdriver is handmade after all.

Ive ordered a dse905 from heavensgifts, waiting on it arriving, then i saw trog has a special offer on a screwdriver body, id probably gone for that if id seen it before id ordered the dse905, sods law i guess!!!

Vapor production is going to be equal across all 3.7 volt units. As far as quality of craftsmanship, I'm sure the SD is probably a more solid unit, but is the extra cost worth it? That's a matter of personal preference.

This was discussed in another thread before the discounted SD bodies were available and at that time you could purchase 4 DSE905's for the cost of a SD. Now it's more of a two to one ratio, so might be worth getting the SD.

Or you could always learn a little soldering and make yourself a Nicostick mod for $5 worth of parts and still have the same vaping experience :)

i was going to make me one of the laser pointer mods, but to be honest, im lazy and when i saw heavens gifts where selling the dse905 for $60 i just went for that. Ive been using a 510 for my daily vape, its great, but like everyone i have issues with battery life. I think ive evolved with my vapeing, when i started last march, i had to have an ecig that looked like a real analog so bought an evo off intellicig, it was ok but the battery cut off drove me mad, thats why i moved onto a black 510, i was less bothered about it looking real by then, now i dont care, i just want good vapour without the need to recharge all the time.

First of all trog screwdriver is not on the same level as the dse905. No electronics, just a simple switch,,as for the housing itself, it's comparing apples to apples..even if the electronics failed on the dse905, you could gut it and replaced them with a simple switch or order a new upper housing and switch for 24 bucks from heaven-gift..you still come out a 1/3 of the price of his. You also get the cool lighted ring.

I own a Screwdriver (2 now since the special offer) and there's no way I'd buy one of the 905's. But that's just me.

They're not however in the same league. One is a Chinese 'copy' that you can expect Chinese lifespan from, the original however is very well made and made to last. I've had one for 4 months now and don't regret buying it (at full price). :)

I have no experience with the screwdriver but I have had the 901 and 501 and both have been great (chinese made btw) and now I have the DSE 905 which has been working EXCELENT. Build quality is great, (keep in mind I don't plan on throwing it at walls or stabbing anyone with it) vapor is excellent and with all of the available adapters, you can use any of the "best" atomizers.

The battery life lasts about 6 hours with heavy vaping (sitting watching TV / surfing ecig and motorcycle forums) and takes about 3 hours to fully charge the batteries. This baby has totally replaced all of my other Ecigs. The weight is significantly heavier but for me thats fine because I don't vape anywhere but home generally.

The "master switch" on the bottom is kinda silly and pointless in actual use. Overall I would rate the 905 10/10. While I may have limited experience compared to some, I think having used the 901 and the 510 which have been spoken highly of by many forum members should give me some credit :p.

And yes, this is my first post but I have been lurking for a few months since I got my first crappy SE e-cig and now to have something like this is :D. I just had to throw in my opinion.

What he said. Definitely MAKE SURE you have the V2 version of the DSE905. Apparently there are some V1's out there that are not sealed, and juice is getting in the battery compartment of some and causing a short. Most suppliers are doing free replacement.
right zof, good point. Got the V2 version.
