I don't use a special juice with my morning coffee, I just vape what I'm vapin'. With that said, I steered away from coffee flavored juice, generally, when I tried some out at the Vape Shop. It was similar enough that I felt like I wouldn't really taste the juice, while simultaneously *not* being coffee tasting enough to deal with. I'd imagine something like a typical breakfast (hey, I wonder if there's an oatmeal flavor?) like blueberry muffin or something would be okay, but as long as I'm not vaping citruses or something, I tend to be just Fine. :)

Considering i've seen some extremely strange flavors i wouldn't doubt there's something like oatmeal in existence :p but yeah i tried Coffee flavor too and really didn't like it (it felt.....too artificial ?) my vape shop has a fruity pepple flavor guess i might taste it see how i like it. (not a fan of blueberry at all tbh, more of a fruit kind of guy don't really like sugary flavors which yes is ironic since i vape 12 monkeys atm lol)

There are oatmeal vapes. I personally would have found it much harder to give A.M. cigs without Virgin Vapor's Kona Coffee Milkshake and Highbrow Capuchino. I chain smoked thru 3 cups of coffee every morning, diff flavored juice had me down to 1 A.M. cig in 2 days.

Unrelated question, that I might as well put in this thread.
Is it possible to over-prime your coil heads? And if so what happens if you do?
I prime my coils a lot and the first few toots taste a bit like burnt cotton. I thought I was doing it right,
starting with low wattages and then slowly moving up.

Hey all.
I was a heavy smoker before I found vaping, and in the beginning when I bought my first
e-cig I was able to quit for a few months. Then I started dual using due to some stressful times. Also my motivation to be smoke-free wasn't very strong.

The thing is, vaping really irritates my throat when Im dual using, and I miss those months
where I was stinky-free and vaping was just a joy. Also, I'm starting to have
breathing difficulties. and it really worries me.

So I want to quit the stinkies real bad, but why is it so difficult for me?
I should be able to when I have my vape, right?

Can you guys think of good motivating reasons to quit? (other than it might kill me of course)
And is it normal to cough and feel short of breath when dual using?

Normal, Normal, Normal. Yes.

The first time you quit something that for you is very addictive is the easiest quit you will ever have. Second time is much more difficult, third time more difficult still. (I don't know why, exactly, but it's true.. psychological I'm sure)

So, you are dealing with a situation that for you will be more difficult than any quit attempt with vaping you have faced yet. So yes, you need some additional motivating factors.

The answer to what those are for you, can only be found within yourself. What other people (such as myself and others) can do is to outline their various motivating factors and you see which ones resonate most with you.

If your to the point it's affecting your health again, then that is one good motivating factor for you.

With the additional motivating factor, you may also need more satisfaction out of vaping that your not getting which is ending up in you desiring to dual use.

Consider using higher nicotine in short spurts during those times you want to smoke. Also consider switching to wta e juice found here:
Whole Tobacco Alkaloid WTA Eliquid Ejuice

(You can use the above e juice and wean yourself off it slowly, only using it when you desire a cigarette, and this will help the additional lung problems and throat irritation that dual using is causing you by creating an atmosphere where you stop wanting that cigarette)

You can switch to vaping tobacco flavors for times you desire a cigarette, OR cut out tobacco flavors altogether. (Whatever you do now, do the opposite because what your doing right now isn't helpful with this quit attempt)

If you normally sub ohm vape, then buy a low wattage mtl set up that more closely mimicks a cigarette and drastically increase your nicotine level, (I'm talking 24mg or higher per ml of e liquid when your using mtl) and use that when you desire a smoke.

OR, do the opposite if your using mtl low wattage devices now.. then take up a higher wattage dl tank and system and use that whenever you want a smoke.

The pattern here is, what your doing isn't working with this particular quit attempt, so try something new as that might be more helpful this time. Your brain has learned to overcome vaping, as your doing it right now in order to keep the cigarette addiction going, so you have to trick it.. :)

Yes and if you do you'd get a leak :p or mostly gurgle sounds. When first priming i let the tank sit about 5-10 mins then do the priming puffs (ie inhaling without firing the mod) then start at the lowest recommended settings and slowly go up. Haven't had any issues doing so in 100 days :p But imho it's why everyone needs multiple tanks and mods, that way there's no need for primer puffs let it sit while you vape something else.

If they're new coils, that's not unusual. With my Nautilus BVC coils, even though I prime them thoroughly, I get this sort of plastic-y taste for the first few hits. I think it's either residue, or just the coils getting going. It's faint, not like a BURNT coil, and it goes away after a few puffs. This happens equally after I've rinsed and reused a coil, so I think it's normal, at least for me. We are talking ORDERS of MAGNITUDE less than a burnt coil, though. It's just a faint, yukky taste. And it takes me about a tank (3 ml) to break in a new coil completely so that juice is flowing easily. I use max VG (got PG sensitivity though) so there's that.

It is possible to FLOOD a coil, in which case you may get hissing, gurgling, bubbling, and/or even juice in the mouthpiece or even mouth, occasionally. The remedy for this is to blow-- without firing, and fairly hard-- a few times INTO your drip tip, and you will likely see a few drops of juice come out of your airholes, but it will clear away the gurgling and spitback issues, etc.

I wouldn't worry too much that you can't stop right away. That's how it is for some of us. It took several months for me. Other folks vape once and it's over. Try and keep the number down though, especially since you are having breathing problems. That might be caused by stopping and then restarting with the cigs. Your lungs start to recover and then get blasted again. I found it easier to cut down than to stop, I guess the brain isn't so bothered if it knows it can have one later.

I'll second what someone said about keeping some high nic juice around for when the cravings get rough.

Here's a story about keeping a pack of cigs. My father told me about a friend who quit back in the old days. He stayed off the cigs for 10 years and carried his last half pack in his pocket all that time. One day in the pub for no good reason he pulled one out and lit it up. It was so old and dry it just burned right down but he went straight to the bar and bought another pack.

I searched everywhere there might be a cig. Under the seat in my truck, ashtrays in the garage, whatever. I was really scared about finding even a shorty in the ashtray.

I kept my last pack, unopened. My husband opened it when he was out of smokes and bummed a couple, here and there, until it was gone.

But then, I'm one of the rare people who made the switch to vaping with a smoker in the house, and he didn't go outside to smoke either. Used to drive me nuts at first, smelling smoke (which in the beginning smelled oh so good) when I was trying to quit. Lol..

I did it though, with cigarettes (and cigarette smoke) all around me. If i wanted a cigarette right now all I have to do is go over to hubbies chair and get a pack out of his stash and open it.

I don't have any urges around smoker's anymore. At first it was hard and smoke did smell so good.

When I quit vaping the first time I found myself back to smoking pretty fast, (then I got back to vaping) but other than that I had a time I was upset so went and bought two packs of cigarettes and smoked them all in the same day, which fairly well made me sick.. lol. (But by then I was mtl vaping 3mg/ml and only going through about 4-5 ml a day so it did really give me nicotine overdose to smoke like I used to years ago)

After that I had the occasional craving for a smoke but I just fought against it, vaped through it and won. (Yea!.. lol) I think that time the whole being sick to my stomach and waking up the next morning with my chest hurting me badly and my mouth tasting like an ashtray really helped me not have that bad of a desire to repeat the event.. lol..

But being around a smoker hasn't bothered me in a long long long long time now..

You can over prime a coil, but usually just floods. Just put qtip in drip tip & hold tank upside down. Shouldn't have burnt taste unless wick is dry or watts too high.

well what do ya know, learn something new everyday on this forum!!! have over primed my coils several times and just changed it out to a new one, will certainly try this!

OMG this sounds like me. I was looking for a .... any where i could when i started vaping that first week. And i even told myself that i needed a pack stashed somewhere because by knowing it was there it would give me a piece of mind. Well i know some who that has worked for...not me! i would just smoke them up. The only thing that worked for me was to smoke that last cig and be done. I found it easier if i had to talk myself out of going out and buying a pack oppose to having a pack laying around where i could just grab a cig. We are all so different in what works for us. You really have to want it, and even then, dig deeper. BT has more addictive stuff in those cancer sticks then nic, it's gonna take awhile to get that stuff out of your system. After you are off cigs completely for a few weeks, and you light one up, you are going to go omg that taste horrible. You don't taste it while your still a smoker though..but give it a few weeks and you will. There is a agent in cigs that actually numbs your lungs, now that your cutting back, your feeling what cigs are doing to your lungs because your lowering that chemical in your lungs. When you stop smoking your lungs go through a recovery period and you will cough up all kinds of stuff, and it's not pleasant. You will start to feel the pain of your lungs once again. It will pass, trust me, it will pass. But you got to stick to it and see it through. Don't beat yourself up, just keep your eye on the end game and keep at it, you will get there. Never give up. Every cig you don't smoke is an accomplishment and focus on that..getting closer and closer to where you don't need a cig at all. Now you might be of those people like me, which i learned the hard way, you just gotta finish that pack and say done..make yourself go out of your way to go out, drive down the road and walk into that store and ask for your pack of cigs...not having a pack sitting around to easily turn to. I so wish you luck in finding what works for you, lots of great advice given in this thread and different points of views. Hopefully you can gain the confidence and support you are seeking. Vape on!
