Can someone help me increase my vapor production? Or some trouble shooting tips?

I have the did clone set up with 500mesh, 3/2 wrap with 32awg kanthal but after watching countless YouTube videos my vapor production is nowhere close to what I've been seeing. I'm using HHV HT 60/40, I don't have any hot spots, and I'm reading 1.3ohms. Also using a vtube mod. The air hole is lined up with the wick and it's on the bottom while I vape..
I just want to say that I have had the best luck with the thinnest walled mesh wick . Also make sure to try with filler plug out.

I just re wrapped it 4/5, 2.0 ohms at 4.5volts, basically maxing the amp limit on my vtube at 9.6watts. It's made a difference. The throat hit was always there but now my vapor production has increased and the vape is definitely warmer. I'm sure I could add more wraps but I can live with this for now :), or when I get 28-30awg kanthal it will be even better.. This is all to make my wrapping/ mesh making skills to be on point when my ac9 comes in. I appreciate the help guys! And the filler plug(screw) is always out :)

you need to try out some 30awg. produces much more vapor. like a 3/4 wrap. you will be surprised.

Now I'm getting lightheaded :vapor:

Congrats! Yeah, there should be some bench tests coming from another member pretty soon demonstrating the relationship between coil area and wick surface area. You'll likely also see the vapor and flavor improve as things kinda break in.

Unfortunately I bought 100ft of 32awg kanthal so I got some to spare, do u know where I can purchase 28 or 30 awg kanthal? Like 50ft? I bought the 32 kanthal for $12... Are there deals like this for the 28-30?

I'm in the same boat with the 32, but I figure it'll still be useful for use in other RBAs or something. 28 is a bit harder to find, and I haven't purchased any yet myself. I think people have mostly been getting it from ebay, but I'm not sure who the user is that's selling it. I also think there might be a co-op discussion or something on it...not sure about that though.

kwalka and rusalka are offering 100 ft of 28 ga kanthal free of charge - all you do is pay for the shipping. check the mod forum for details ................

btw lucid's post above contains the proper link to the thread! ;)

I guess I should've read my own link more carefully...I didn't realize it was going to be shipping only :w00t: I was reading it a while back and kinda thought rusalka might do it at cost + shipping. But free....

I have the dud and the did. The did has a much larger wick hole so I can role a bigger wick. Rolling the same way on the dud I kept getting hot spots from the coil because there is less wick to hold juice. I fixed this problem by unrolling the wick and doubled up the mesh at the top of the wick hole. No hot spots and no dry hits. Just double the thickness of the wick where the coil meets the wick by rolling 2nd piece of mesh into the top of the wick. This lets me chain vape taking 7-8 second pulls using 1.9 ohm coil at 4.4 volts. Try it and you will not regret it.

Been thinking about a cobra and was wondering if the dual wicks double the amount of vapor. How does your Bliss perform. My did is fantastic!!!

Here is a lil bit of my experiences so far regarding this atomizer that I got here: MOV Genesis Style Rebuildable Atomizer Tank

If you are looking to break into rebuildables and want a good place to start then this guy is a great option! Below I have shown some comparisons with some higher end atomizers but in the end the performance is still great.

I must say that I can't find any fault with the way it performs, hits and vapes just the way this style is supposed to. The only real issues I can really call out are that of fit and finish.

first, the device I got it for:

makin some vapor:

vapor linger after 3 sec. draw:

and now some comparisons with a high end atomizer of the similar "genesis" style, the bliSS:

the DuD:

bliSS:

side by side, notice the thread quality between the 2:

here are all my rebuildables. (left to right) Phoenix, DuD/DiDn't, bliSS, and G-Tank-US(...ahhhhh, angels and choirs singing is praise!!!):

Here are all the 510 connections, sorry for the bad pic but you can clearly see the thread quality difference. The (lesser) ones on the left, the high quality machining on the right. Phoenix and DuD have that slight looseness and "wobble" when connected, the good one simply do not budge:

Wanna see what you pay for in a high end atomizer? This is 1 piece of stainless precisely machined for each o-ring, thread and screw/wick hole. Then and insert for the positive post, doesn't get much more solid than that:

In summary, still very worth the $29.99 I paid......absolutely worth a co-op $12. I don't have a authentic DiD or I would have compared but I can say that the actual DiD has the quality and attention to detail like the bliSS listed above.

I do not regret getting this at all, it will serve it's intended purpose: a small, cheap, fine if it gets damaged genisis style for my back-up mod. However, now that I have it and have seen the build of a real DiD, I will most likely be replacing it with a DiD Mini some day as I am just one of those guys that it bugs me when I know that there is something better out there but for now it'll work fine.

I didn't have any luck with my DUD. It was my first rebuildable and I spent the better part of the day tinkering with it.

I have tried just about everything I found online and haven't managed to have any luck. I swear I oxidized the absolute he'll out of my mesh, about 5 or burn/quench with 3 juice burns. I've also taken a wick off after I made the coil and did another 3 or 4 burns.

Not sure what I'll try next, I was just getting frustrated so figured I'd put it down for a bit. I've been reading tons of info and watching YouTube videos, but is there anything I could be missing from?

I torch my wick and check it with a multimeter until there is no continuity. I never quench. After The wick is ready I do juice burn it just for taste purposes.
