so should i start out with the starter kit you mentioned above? or should i try to make a customized one?

Without total knowledge of everything involved, I personally think the starter kit would be a good choice especially since you and your girlfriend could each get one for under $50 and buy some other liquid and come in under your $100 budget for the two of you. Like I said before, you more than likely will upgrade but that will get you started and keep you good for a while. As far as liquids go, just do a search for "e-liquid" and buy some when you place your order for your starter kit, even if it's from a different site. That way you don't end up where I did and have no liquid but have something to vape it on...horrible situation!!! Those batteries should last you most of the day and once you get home you can plug them into a laptop and vape while they're charging.

I didn't learn ANYTHING until after I got the Blu and regret not doing my research. You'll be happy with the starter kit if that's what you start on. Just imagine charging your two batteries 3 times a day each and that was the Blu...major pain in the .... Just remember, vaping is a bigger expense up front than smoking, but once you get started it is MUCH cheaper than smoking the stinky sticks!

EDIT: I just found http://www.crazyvapors.com/shop/ego-ce4-900-mah-passthrough-starter-kit/. The site I listed only had one in stock so...won't work for the both of you. If you pick up a second charger from here, you would both be set to start out with just one kit. Or you could pick up two kits and both be BEYOND set. Like I said earlier, pick up some liquid at the same time so you have everything to get you started!

I' m a long time smoker ready to switch to e-cigs. I have a ProSmoke starter kit ready to use. I don't know anyone who uses ecigs and almost all of my friends have quit smoking so I'm the one you see standing outside with a cigarette too. I bought a cheap kit a couple of years and couldn't get used to the flavor or trying to put it together. What I want to know is how do you start? Do you smoke a set number of cigs a day and then use the ecig the rest of the time until you taper off to all ecigs? Or do you go cold turkey and only smoke the ecigs?

The day I picked up an e-cig is the day I quit smoking. But however you choose to do it is what works best. Even if you smoke less with an e-cig, it's better than nothing.

here's my two cents,

Volt over V2 no question. Ego batteries over any cig sized battery.

8 - 12 mg? For a someone making the switch from Marlboro's you'll have a much easier time with something more like 18mg or higher. First order, I recommend 24mg and eventually work down from there.

Before I get flamed for that comment, Blucig and Njoy both have done their homework on switching and concluded 24mg in the Blu and 30mg to 45mg in the Njoy King was the best level for converting smokers.

Thanks for your answer, I appreciate it. Did it take awhile to get used to the new taste? And congratulations on qutting your first day!

It didn't take me any time at all. E-juice tastes much better than regular smokes. But everyone is different. Whatever works for you is the way you need to do it. Even if you cut out half your cigs a day, it's still progress.

I would agree except moving from lights and ultra lights to 24 or 18mg, in my opinion, throat hit will be too much. Maybe order two of 18mg and two of 12mg just to see what works for them.

Will, if you live anywhere near Anoka, there is an e-cig shop on West Main St. They will let you try a variety of e-cigs and juice. Their prices are about 10% more than ordering online, but it's worth it to try something out.

There's also a disposable called SquareSmoke - you can go to their website and see if a place near you sells them. It's worth trying one of those so you can understand what it's like.

Glad to know that there are good flavors out there. I'm trying to figure out how to post and this is the 3rd mess -up people please don't think I'm an idiot.

I'm a menthol smoker but I ordered a sample pack of other flavors- coffee, cherry, vanilla, etc. I wonder what flavor menthol smokers prefer if they try something else. Sorry for the mistakes trying to post.

Don't see any mistakes but...if you're looking for menthol flavors, try E Liquid - VaporCast. They are huge into menthol so it might be a place to start. The only problem I've found is searching for flavors that I enjoy. I've just been messing with DIY but I'm not all that picky haha

You can get a Smok Tech 510 Ego-T kit for $40 usd. The kit is 2 batteries, 2 Atomizers, 5 juice tanks, USB adapter and AC plug. So think of it as 20 bucks an E-cig that way. I was just looking up getting for extra parts. I priced 2 more atomizers, a battery, and I was looking at 15 tanks. Each pack of tanks is 5. I found for like 3 more dollars I can get a whole kit. Which gets me 1 more battery and new chargers. Then I would just by 1 or 2 packs of tanks. Story is I would really look close at prices. Sometime a whole kit maybe cheaper.
