This is exactly why i dont like this forum, people like this that think their better than everyone else and just start [edited], seems like every post has one of these - if you have nothing good to say about the topic then simply stay out of my thread, Sorry for asking a question on a forum ??? calm down

It is deliberately provocative when you attack people, or a group of people, rather than dealing with their arguments. I think the words "calm down" could equally be applied to the post that I have quoted. Chill.

Well there always "that guy" on ECF that always has to start [edited] it seems so that's why I put it in that context...Plus Racehorse even admitted that older members always bashing new members for asking questions, so I don't get where your evaluation is going there was no positive message in his reply so why would you pick out words like "calm down" in my reply when you don't even consider his ? I think your being extremely bias towards the older members of the forum and picking on a new one like me

Actually I just don't like the way that you insult the forum. Take that how you will.

Precisely.

Actually they universally welcome new members. If they cop an attitude that welcome might be more muted, I suppose.

Exactly.
Nothing like being a new kid on the block in forum (or any place at all) and copping an attitude.

You see, forum members do not get paid for the help and advice that they give to other members. It is a voluntary act. Each member can decide on their own to whom they will give help and advice, and to whom they will not. Of course, if a new member does not wish to profit from the experience of long-term vapers, then that is their decision.

My 2 cents.

If you don't like this forum, you must despise the entire internet.

This is just about the tamest forum on the internets.
And the nicest.

There are other forums all over the internet that will rip you a new one for simply being new.
Some will call you four-letter words just for saying hello.

My opinion is that the post you quoted could have left off the part about giving them a break.
But yeah, why focus on that one post and start trashing ECF as a whole?

EDIT: You will find there are many posters here who are very passionate about this forum
EDIT: Many people feel that this forum has saved their lives
EDIT: There aren't a lot of forums out there you can say that about
EDIT: :)

Ok...deep breaths in here...

(isn't it great that we can now !)

I think things got lost in what I think was meant to be humor.

I live in Florida, I take hot showers...that is all way more humidity in my lungs...not worried about vaping :)

All questions are good questions - you can't learn if you don't ask :)

Sorry, but the thread opener looked exactly like the many bogus "vaping-is-bad-for-you" threads that the antz have stuffed on the forum lately. It's not funny at all imho.

I've never worried much about the effects of PG on my lungs. I try to stay under the level where vaping can cause irritation to the throat and bronchial tubes. Early ecigs that all operated at 3.4v to 3.7v produced larger droplets (which mist is comprised of) which were said to be too large to enter the alvoeli (air sacs in the lungs). Most of the mist condensed on the bronchial tubes and the cilia brought it back up to the throat. Today's atomizers working at higher voltages produce finer mist that might penetrate farther into the lungs, but not nearly as much as the tobacco smoke we used to inhale.

If you've been vaping long you might remember when vapor disappeared as soon as it spread into the air. Dual coil high efficiency atomizers like the tanks we see these days produce vapor that hangs in the air for longer periods and LOOKS like smoke, so there's finer atomization going on as far as I can tell. How much vapor is produced and how long it hangs depends on the humidity levels in your vicinity. On cool, moist days when mist and fog naturally hang, vapor from an ecig will, too.

PG is commonly used in the medical community as a carrier for other medicines. If you've ever seen a patient getting a breathing treatment you saw a PG mist being inhaled by the patient through a mask. That mist carries medications to heal the lungs. PG is also mixed into other medications that are injected in a vein.

Propylene glycol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Propylene glycol is considered generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and it is used as an humectant (E1520), solvent, and preservative in food and for tobacco products, as well as being one of the major ingredients of the "e-liquid" used in electronic cigarettes along with vegetable glycerin. Vaporizers used for delivery of pharmaceuticals or personal care products often include propylene glycol among the ingredients they are filled with.[4] Propylene glycol is used as a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations, such as for diazepam and lorazepam which are insoluble in water.[7]

i understand that but nothing he said contributed to the topic other than get on my nerves, and he should know that as well since he has 5000+ posts, if hes really a "ECF contributor" than he shouldn't be bashing new people because they dont know as much as he does because i thought the idea of this forum was to welcome and inform new members to an alternative to analogs

It is, in part - and it happens all the time, every day. How do you think you improve your case by continuing to make personal insults?

I'm a Fish and therefore have no fear of water in my "lungs"

But when I was just a little guppy here on ECF I was a bit curious as to whether or not moisture could build up in my "lung" due to vaping.
Thankfully hardly any of the sharks here on ECF tried to eat little Fisheeboy and I eventually learned how to swim around the whole great lake of ECF. Now I have a better understanding of what is actually happening when I vape. I am not drowning, I'm dehydrating and turning into Fisheejerkee unless I drink mucho agua.

I'm more smarter now thanks to ECF. :headbang:

Keeping hydrated keeps vapers' tongue at bay, too. :)

OT, but I just can't contain myself... I've seen this sentiment expressed a few times now, and while I definitely agree that this is a generally very friendly and welcoming community, another forum I frequent makes this place look like 4chan! If anyone else posts on LHC (which is so tame it's almost like it's not even really a part of the internet), you'll know what I mean... and hi!!

/OT

OP, I am personally glad you brought up the topic. Not so much because I was worried about filling my lungs with water as that I have a few people in my life who are concerned about that for me. It was very timely to come upon this thread so that I could have more concrete information to give those people than, "No, that doesn't make sense..." ...which is all I was coming up with on the spot. So thank you. :)

All I can say is that your lungs are already quite moist, breathing in fog does the same thing, so does a hot shower, and since I gave up smoking for vaping I'm a great deal healthier, I don't cough up gunk anymore, my lung function is vastly improved, I can smell things again, and the Peripheral arterial disease I had from smoking has ceased.

That my lung function has so drastically improved over my year of vaping and not smoking tells me not to worry about vapor building up fluid in my lungs, because it's not happening. A fluid buildup in the lungs would be quite painful and distressing, and I feel none of that, nor does anyone else posting here or we would have heard about it long ago and often.

So the point of your question is.....???

Someone told me that water in the lung thing too. My first reaction was to laugh but my story is the same as Vaslovik's. Beats the heck out of smoking.
But isn't the body 80% water anyway?
