I didn't delete my reply to make it go away just because the first portion was ill considered, but being in the criminal justice field I do find his comments insulting and was rather peeved. I deleted the rest of the comment because facts are obviously not appreciated here. I may be younger than you, but no I don't 'wanna be' a cop, but as they are professionals in the same field that I am and I do respect the difficulty of their job. I don't like to hear them getting bashed for doing their jobs. I have no disabilities, and if I had any interest in being a cop I would be, I work in security because I have kids and don't want the stress that a cops life puts on their families. I am also a criminal justice major because I believe in setting a good example for my children by obtaining a college education. I never meant any of what I said as a personal attack on you which I stated in my second post.

ok sorry - i have respect for what you do and what you have said

i too get a little peaved at stuff a little too often

i am sure it is a good thing that i am not a cop

but i wanna be

peace man - i don't have any bad feeling and i take back most anything i said that got you riled up - ok back to topic

sorry your moderatorship thanks for being lenient on us

p s - does anyone know how to turn the spell checking back on ? it used to work but it doesn't any more

So, I have a random question (that I am sure has been answered before.)(Oh, and its most likely a stupid question, but I am a stupid person, so I'm going to ask anyway!! :D)

Let's say, I have my e-cig(s)/screwdrivers and/or whatever, with a bottle or two of e-liquid.

What if I got pulled over for (insert reason here), and the cops questioned this "device", and the bottle of liquid I had in purse.

You think it would get confiscated or take me to the station?? lol

I don't know. I'm just watching COPS so I was wondering.

Sorry didn't mean to turn your thread into an argument.

While confiscation is unlikely it's not impossible (though if they ever do file a complaint as it is not illegal any such confiscation would but out of order). They could possibly do a visual search of your vehicle, and if they had the capability, test your liquid. Keeping it in a commercially labeled bottle may help with this, as well as carrying your user manual with you in case they've never heard of e-cigs.

Most importantly be respectful and don't act as if you have something to hide, cops find it really suspicious, and e-cigging is not illegal so you shouldn't have to hide that you do it. However I still use a analog looking one when driving to avoid the hassle since I always have my kids with me and getting pulled over and all that would be beyond inconvenient.

i am now taking advice from kelly79 about your predicament and i would definitely not say

go vape yourself

to the cop
whether he is a man or he is a woman

about the cops tv show - i used to like it but

i quit watching tv about 25 years ago and i remember
there is something really strange about that show
every time i would watch it - i would start getting
afraid that crooks were everywhere and i felt that i
needed to get a gun or three to protect everyone
then when i didn't watch it - i slowly became
calm again - i have never owned a gun in my life
even though everyone else in my family does and
it was great fun firing the m-16 in army basic training
back in 1975 - and i love playing fps games like
battelfield 2 and call of duty 4 and 5 and 6 is
coming out this fall !

people have passions and the thread is about ecigs and cops

some of us find it easy to get passionate about loving or hating how ecigs act in public or how dangerous or exciting it may be, in our experiences, while vaping cops

it is usual that people will have trouble controlling their passions and they will occasionally get in a hissy about ecigs not showing enough respect or cops not atomizing properly and therefore we have copacetic and understanding moderators to come in and practice what they preach

they don't come in with battons and start breaking arms and legs or press a button and fry infractionating perps to itty bitty pieces of floating particles

they just traipse in and nonchalantly announce

cut the crap or i lock the trap

now the cops are vaping nicely and the ecigs don't smart off so much

all hail the fair and balanced discretionary moderator

p s twoshadetod - does that mean you are a half-breed ?
i am about 7 and 1 / 2 breed myself
do you have a brother named threetonedtim ?
oh you wear two pair of sunglasses ...
maybe that's why it seems too dark for you to get more letters typed than how many backspaces you accidentally hit

let's face it - anybody can smoke plain old analog tobacco

but it takes a really brave man or woman to venture out into the unknown frontier of vaping vegetable glycerine or propylene glycol

not to mention the weird things your relatives say behind your back at the family reunions or the restaurant

so when it comes to the fda or the leo we should just blurt it out without hesitation

i know i should be like any regular person and smoke tobacco until i puke green and die but i just couldn't help myself

those nasty people at e-cigarette-forum.com made me do it

I guess I am a "half breed", Irish/German. The name is from a character I had on an online game that I got addicted to. Don't worry, I'm not a non-white, or gay. The post I edited was directed at Kate, but after posting it I saw the mod (hehehe that guy really, REALLY likes locking threads) threaten to lock it I didn't want to be "that guy".

So I got pulled over last week, and had my 510 and PCC in my center console. Two cops approached, one on each side of my car. As I started talking to the one at my driver's side, I noticed the other trying to get a better look at the "strange-looking" 510.

It was a simple ticket for expired registration, and though the cop clearly saw my e-cig, he said nothing. So, I approached HIM about it.

"While I've got you here, can I ask you a question? Are you guys familiar with electronic cigarettes?"

As it turned out, no. Neither had ever seen one, but became instantly interested when they learned I'd not touched an analog since I received my e-cig. I ended talking to them for about 10 minutes about it, and gave them cards to give their friends.

So, in my experience...don't worry about your e-cig...yet ;) If you do get questioned, I'd take the enthusiastic evangelist route! These things have gotten most of us off tobacco, definitely don't be ashamed of them!

i am irish dutch german american indian ( cherokee )

i am not really worried about your color or whether or not your breath smells like poopsicles

some of my best friends are cop lovers
and i used to live with a real live cop
imagine that
a very cool nice black christian friend

i respect the heck out of most of them because they are good
and i respect all of them when they are at the other end of the billy club ( ya know what i mean )

but i think they are just people like you and me - they come in irish and german and poopsicle flavors too

and when their breath stinks - sometimes i may be inclined to suggest that they should brush their teeth

that's all

Ahh. Finally some anecdotal evidence from the real world. Thanks Circuit!

My FUD reservoir was nearly full and your post just brought me back to reality. I'd almost been convinced the entire US police force were robots that had been programmed by the one maniac that wrote the (now rescinded) MIAC memo.

Thanks for the throat-hit of "reality flavored" e-cigs-and-cops story! :)

Seriously.

I totally agree with you - it's all about how "suspicious" you look. Let's keep in mind that every time these people pull someone over, they are trained to approach as if you're a criminal. Sometimes, their lives really do depend on that instinct and training. MOST cops aren't there to hassle you, and are perfectly reasonable people.

However, I might actually suggest you NOT use the ones that look like cigarettes. There are mj-smoking devices that are designed to look like analogs, and you're more likely to be harassed in that respect because cops are very familiar with these, and aren't usually fooled. My black 510 with a blue LED is clearly NOT a mj-smoking device, and is more likely to get curious questioning that suspicious interrogation. Just my $.02
