Random babble about e-pipes since I was trying to get a discussion going in the classifieds section about my new love for the RS-888.
To get the thread rolling, I hope -

First, I've discovered the battery goes in with the slightly indented ring UP! Put it in upside down and it gets hot and starts to smell like cooked circuits.

Second it appears that the battery is a 14250 much like this

Also, as far as I can tell, the atomizer is essentially a DSE-801

Next I want a DSE-601. Then maybe one of those $250 Ruyan things, except it's probably just an overpriced 601.

Is the 601 anything at all like any other product? It looks like the battery is the same, but that's about all I can see. One thing I really like about the 888 is the option of using my 801 parts... but it's tiny. I'd love a regular sized pipe, to go with my Inverness and deerstalker

Like any other vaporizer the atomizer will fail eventually. Unlike every other vaporizer you throw away the whole pipe body when it does. The batteries are huge, 18350s. They last half the day, and clock in at 1200 mah, where a regular vaporizer clocks in at 200ish mah. Its a nice toy. Here's a link to the batteries... 18350

It's the quality of the smoke in the 601 that gets me. Thick but really smooth. Either the larger atomizer doesn't heat up the vape as much or the longer stem lets it cool before it hits your mouth. I find you really need to puff it like a real pipe. Flavors also tend to be smoother. I find myself liking the berry flavors the most, whereas in my 510 or 901 I like lots of other non berry stuff. I'm going to order a couple backup atomizers, I would be lost without it.

Thanks Dave, I'll check it out when the boss isn't nagging me about this "work" stuff he's always on about.

I'm considering starting a web ebiz thingamabob focusing on epipes. Granted, there aren't that many models, but the juice selection is tragic. Sure, everyone offers a "French Pipe" and Cherry Cavendish isn't too hard to simulate at home (well, good enough to pretend anyway) but where are all the other flavors?

I have given up with my mini pipe unless I can find a way to improve atomizer life.....16 atomizers in less than a couple of months is way beyond my means.

168-o  atomizers!! i have only went thru one of the stock atomizers...and that is because i tried to clean it a week after i got it and i somehow killed it cleaning it.

i have been using a BE112 atomizer on my mini-pipe for 3 weeks and i decided to retire it as a primary backup..still works great...

im now using another stock mini-pipe atomizer for 2 weeks now and it is still going strong.

i only drip with my mini-pipe

My dse 601 is on the way....can somone tell me, what are the most refills or cartridges that anyone has gone through, before the atomizer died on their dse601.....
Thank you

Didn't count cartridges or refills, but I find they go 2 to 3 weeks before performance drops. Cleaning cycles after that will restore performance for a while, but you have to do more and more frquently, untill it just peters out.

My problem with the minipipe was the switch. It worked great for 2 weeks, using a Sedansa Diva atomizer (the one that it came with was a wimp), then the switch got stuck on and burnt out the atomizer.
