But honestly I can see where flavors like cola and red bull would really seem to be marketed towards kids.

WTF? Those are two of my favorite flavors, and they aren't being marketed toward ANYBODY. When is the last time you saw a tv ad, radio ad or even a banner ad that said: "Try the delicious new Cola e-cigarette liquid!" ???

2. Environmental benefits. Imagine intersections not clogged with discarded cigarette butts from inconsiderate smokers. Imagine butts not floating into streams and oceans where they kill marine life. Imagine clean air anywhere.

How about the occasional wildfire that starts with a carelessly discarded cigarette and ends up burning down entire communities? That's another strong selling point.

I find Drum to be quite flavorful. Maybe I'm just getting old. lol. But honestly I can see where flavors like cola and red bull would really seem to be marketed towards kids. But I agree with you. I've noticed that adults buy just as much of this stuff as kids do. It's much more probable that someone of age will be willing to buy a pack of cigs for someone not of age than to get online and order them an electronic cigarette. Younger folks are not interested in e-cigs anyway. Smoking is cool. A healthy alturnative to smoking? That's not hardcore.

My home consumes at least one case of coke, and at least a 6 pack of redbull a week. My fiance is older than I am and he wont vape, unless he has no other choice. I am nearly 10 years younger than he is, and I do vape. Not for the cool factor, but for scent factor. Smelling like an ashtray is NOT cool by anyone's standards.

I would rather people vape over smoking. At least when I am around them my eyes wont water, and I wont sneeze.

I also enjoy flavors such as Peach Blast, Banana Blast, Chocolate and Strawberry, Chocolate and coffee... Oh... and Vanilla Coke.

There is nothing wrong with this.

Next time someone tells me in person that this is something that is marketed towards kids... I am going to make them a very nasty drink, or just serve them unflavored yogurt. See how they like that.

Yes, I saw this on the news. I believe it to be a good piece. But why did this video you have posted have to put in that disgusting toe nail fungus ad at the beginning and end of it? Eweeeeee, I didn't need to see that! Well, guess I should be happy it was not that ED commercial for the Johnson pill, with a bunch of aging men at a jam session. They are singing about their new found enhanced Johnson. Geeeeze, I hate that commercial. I would pay for service on my TV, computer, radio that just got rid of all the commercials....please someone invent it, or a module that can be attached that does it for you automatically.

I am just so sick and tired of the notion that kids will like them because of the flavors. What a bunch of BS! Where is a kid getting the money to use PV's? When does anyone talk about parental supervision? Just regulate PV's like they do analogs. You can't purchase if you are under 18. If you are over 18, you are old enough to decide for yourself.

"It's for the kids" is the Democrat's mantra. Beats "If you're not with us. you're with the terrorists" hands down, IMHO. Different party, different style to the talking points. Seriously though, why, when the reporter asks the required doctor about safety, is the pro- vaper never asked the same question? Perhaps the networks need links to the studies that have been done along with a request to disseminate the information?

Yes, but the hypocrisy runs deeper than that. Look at how many herbal supplements are allowed to be sold by the FDA, even though no medical evidence exists to support their benefits or expose their dangers. There is a core contradiction in the FDA's policy and it's only going to be exacerbated by the new tobacco legislation.

Sorry, but that's a bad example. The FDA would love nothing more than to get their regulatory paws on suppliments, but they've been specifically barred from that by congress. :nah: Big Herbal pushed that through so they wouldn't have to prove that their stuff does what they claim.

People complain about Big Pharm, but Big Herbal is over $45 Billion annually, and that ain't exactly peanuts, and to date they haven't had to prove anything safe or effective.

Not disingenuous at all. Avid viewer of C-SPAN. Basing my opinion on what I've seen and heard.

Then we must agree to disagree, as I am also a major C-SPAN junky (just check out my many posts on the topic) and have come to a very different conclusion. By way of example, you might want to check the transcripts of some of Senator McCain's statements on the subject.

lol I think you misunderstood. I agree with you. Just simply trying to say that I can understand how people who are anti-smoking would go there. The taste of smoking is something that is aquired where it's obvious that a kid would like chocolate or cola or something. Again, this is not to say that I think these flavors exist to attract kids, I like them too, but I can see where this would seem troubling to someone who hasn't the knowledge of someone who vaporizes.

I agree with you on this. I'm saying that I think it's NOT very realistic to think that e-cigs are being marketed towards kids. My point was (and sorry for being unclear) through my own experience talking to younger people that smoke I've found that they aren't interested in e-cigs. Where older folks that are concerned for their health really want to make the change. BTW yes vanilla coke is awesome once you get the mix right lol.

I think the flavour issue is hilarious. I started smoking when I was 13, plain ol' tobacco cigarette flavour. Do they really think more young ppl would start smoking if there were flavoured cigs? Do they think the lack of flavouring has kept young ppl from starting smoking? I didn't start smoking bc I thought I'd get to experience a taste sensation.

Started smoking regularly at around 15.. Started with Winston red. Later moved to Camel, then after many many issues with bronchitis moved to menthol.
Never got bronchitis again after the switch.
Agree it has nothin to do with flavorings. If I wanted candy at 15 I would have just ate candy.

These updates are very informative, and I do appreciate them. As I do not list any of our products in a health related capacity. I was looking at my e-mail and I saw the video of Obama stating he will answer the most popular questions the public has related to the new healthcare bill.

I see a golden opportunity since obama already owns one of these devices.

What if everyone around the USA wrote in a specific question wondering if the healthcare system plans to regulate the e-cig so pharmacies and politicians can get their hands on the device. And will these devices be included in the healthcare plan. And is the FDA planning to continue to ban this product illegally since it is not part of the New tobacco bill...HMM?

It is sneaky, but it is a way to get this heard nationally? What say you.
Anyone?

More than likely, the President has not tried the one given to him. For all he knows, it may have contained poison (no pun intended), unless it was tested by the Secret Service or whoever, then he probably has not tried it...then again, maybe he did, who knows... if he did, I think he would be a avid supporter of the product. :thumb:

Oh god. They are just reaching to use every excuse they can now aren't they
"Many people will continue to smoke regular cigarettes along with this now"

1.) Well no ****! A small minority may quit completely at a extremely low price!
2.) If you continue to smoke cigarettes and e-cigs than it seems that the latter is something that you seem to think is more dangerous
3.) Cigarettes are worse, refer to two
4.) It's my choice, like smoking a cigarette is my choice
5.) even when I was five years old I'm fairly confident that if some kid told me to smoke something and said it tasted like strawberry I'd say no and ask my parents. We can't be responsible for other peoples ......ed children
6.) ... you
