That would be my luck as well.

I'm not sure how old you are or where you live but if you're from the South and anywhere from approx 30 to 100+ yrs old, you probably heard the old television show, Hee Haw. If not, it was something of a comedy that featured musicians back in the day but only in country music. They had various sections of the show but the one that was the most hilarious, while being stereotypical of what I am certain most people from the North, Mid-West, and West Coast people honestly believed was how those from the South were even though nothing could be farther from the truth... Well, there is an exception and that would be my birth father considering he was never far from a few pints of illegally yet locally distilled moonshine and his selection always varied from pure rot-gut that was best used for cleaning car parts to smooth-tasting, often fruit-flavored, with some bite to it; again, this varied among the distiller. In fact, it wasn't all that many years ago when there were articles and news broadcasts by reporters who came to North Carolina after several members of the local commissioners and other officials of various small towns in the Piedmont area (Four Oaks, Benson, & a few other smaller towns but the former two were the most prominent) were caught in the process of distillation to sales of moonshine! You have to remember that these men who were caught up in the charges for producing and selling home-made moonshine came from families who had made their fortunes on it, especially during the time of prohibition. It was also something of a family business like passing down a hardware store like John Doe & Sons... LOL! The man who would become my husband when I finally chose to move back to NC, and I kept saying that with all the national news broadcasts about the moonshine-making commissioners and other officials that the rest of the country and even other countries as it went world-wide, must have thought all we did was sit around making moonshine! LOL! That's where this little skit that was on Hee-Haw is stereotypical of people in the South...

The skit had the men from the show and any musician and their band were all in on it. They'd be sitting around with the old brown jugs that are a dark brown on the bottom section and then the upper area of the opening of the jug with the ring-holder top section was a light, almost dirty white color and they'd have the bottles on their shoulders as if they were all sitting around getting sloshed on moonshine as they sang this song you can still find on YouTube called "Shame, Despair, & Agony on Me."

with my luck I'll be the guy that makes post 9,999,999........ and log off after doing it.

Please forgive my ignorance but where the heck are you finding the number of posts made to a certain point?

It's probably somewhere my screen reader just hasn't reached or I tab passed or through it not realizing I am doing so but it would be nice to keep a check on the post numbers if I knew where to proverbially "look."

Warmest regards & best of wishes,

Paise

PS: The emoticons and the Post Icons have Alt-Text, which is alternative text as an option in order to describe the graphic images for the blind as screen readers can read the alt tags but when the alt text is missing and my zoom program built into the screen reader is SOL b/c of my vision or rather the lack of it on the 'bad-vision days," I am at a great loss. It's the same with large images or any that are larger than the 3-degrees of peripheral vision I have and even then with the zoom program I have to look at the image back and forth and across a few dozen times to see the whole thing but I have to piece it together in my head and at times, even that doesn't help, esp when in a flare & fighting brain fog. Btw, thanks in advance.n

Hey SJ,

From an 'old-timer' who was there almost from the beginning (didn't the forum start some time end 2007 ??): it's amazing to see what it has become. Even though the forum has become so huge it's hard to follow anymore , the impact it continues to have in helping both those new to vaping, and 'veterans' like myself, find information on all subjects vape-related, is singularly impressive :thumb:, thank you for your continued efforts !

Cheers,
Silver

Thank you so very much!

I began coming here in late 2008 to early 2009 when I was considering making the switch to E-cigarettes. MOF, I ran across it in 2008, when I was trying to find something to hold my interest and of all things to show up on my screen - an E-Cig Site! DH & I were jumping down each other's throats more times in a day than you could imagine. He did it just to push my buttons, as my MIL said but all he did was piss me off!

It's hard to believe I just celebrated my 4-year anniversary or Vapeversity (thanks to Phil B. but I can't recall his last name; he does AMAZING YOUTUBE REVIEWS! They're great for me, even w/my severely limited sight. I don't think he realizes it consciously but his videos at YouTube are amazingly descriptive! It's like renting a video from the Library for the Blind, Dyslexic, and Elderly. In movies or videos of any kind such as documentaries and such, there is a narrator that describes what is happening on the screen when there is no dialogue or other sounds that help a blind person figure out what is happening on the screen. I know if he were to join the program in his area that has a Library for the Blind that needed someone to narrate videos for the blind into what is termed, "Descriptive Audio for the Blind" he would be perfect! I know I would be more than willing to write a letter of recommendation for him and give him as many top marks as are available to give.)

I'm counting down to my 5yr now! :)

Well surprisingly to some I am going to keep this post simple and straight forward . . .

First - I want to say, THANK YOU & CONGRATULATIONS, to "SmokeyJoe" & "RolyGate", All the Other ECF Administrators, and especially ALL The Moderators (Past & Present) on such a Great Milestone . . .

AND - Not the Milestone You may think, but of creating an educational and informative place that more importantly, brings together a Worldwide community that actually has a purpose to help people and where members assist each other to reduce/quite smoking cigarettes . . .

For that alone, Everyone here at - ECF should be Very Proud and Celebrating being a Member . . .

I know - I AM . . .

(Okay - I said I was going to keep the post simple, but "You" know I had to add at least 1 smiley - "Mine" - the "Uncle Smiley" . . . Just aSayin' . . .;))

Now as for the 10 Million Post - Hey, Whoever that person is that actually makes that post - CONGRATULATIONS ! ! !

This is the 1st time in my life when the fact I suffer from chronic insomnia dating back to my childhood & according to my birth mother, it goes back to before my early arrival of 8wks ahead of schedule & I suffice to say, Mother has said many times that she was unable to sleep when pregnant with me b/c from the first time she was able to feel my movements inside her body, it didn't stop, not even after I was born as I survived even being born breach.

dozed b4 sending post.

Gonna be a long night. (Who needs sleep when there's' ECF anyhoo?)

I was so hopeful; now I'm just so--- not... :(

Thanks for the info. I've got to reboot my computer in order to speed it up b/c it's running sluggish as usual. Maybe it will be sooner than we hope. I'm crossing my fingers in hopes it it won't take a terribly long time.

Thanks & best wishes/warmest regards for your assistance,

Paise

Not even close yet.
