That would be my luck as well.
I'm not sure how old you are or where you live but if you're from the South and anywhere from approx 30 to 100+ yrs old, you probably heard the old television show, Hee Haw. If not, it was something of a comedy that featured musicians back in the day but only in country music. They had various sections of the show but the one that was the most hilarious, while being stereotypical of what I am certain most people from the North, Mid-West, and West Coast people honestly believed was how those from the South were even though nothing could be farther from the truth... Well, there is an exception and that would be my birth father considering he was never far from a few pints of illegally yet locally distilled moonshine and his selection always varied from pure rot-gut that was best used for cleaning car parts to smooth-tasting, often fruit-flavored, with some bite to it; again, this varied among the distiller. In fact, it wasn't all that many years ago when there were articles and news broadcasts by reporters who came to North Carolina after several members of the local commissioners and other officials of various small towns in the Piedmont area (Four Oaks, Benson, & a few other smaller towns but the former two were the most prominent) were caught in the process of distillation to sales of moonshine! You have to remember that these men who were caught up in the charges for producing and selling home-made moonshine came from families who had made their fortunes on it, especially during the time of prohibition. It was also something of a family business like passing down a hardware store like John Doe & Sons... LOL! The man who would become my husband when I finally chose to move back to NC, and I kept saying that with all the national news broadcasts about the moonshine-making commissioners and other officials that the rest of the country and even other countries as it went world-wide, must have thought all we did was sit around making moonshine! LOL! That's where this little skit that was on Hee-Haw is stereotypical of people in the South...
The skit had the men from the show and any musician and their band were all in on it. They'd be sitting around with the old brown jugs that are a dark brown on the bottom section and then the upper area of the opening of the jug with the ring-holder top section was a light, almost dirty white color and they'd have the bottles on their shoulders as if they were all sitting around getting sloshed on moonshine as they sang this song you can still find on YouTube called "
Shame, Despair, & Agony on Me."
with my luck I'll be the guy that makes post 9,999,999........ and log off after doing it.
