She's been reinstated? That's a laugh. How is that making anything better? Why was she banned in the first place? Who decided your public image would suffer from this and let's just reinstate her to shut her up?

I wasn't banned from the page, I left voluntarily. Almost every single person there talks crap about my (and tons of other people's) favourite vendor. There was absolutely no moderation, in fact, the admins of the page regularly got in on the bashing. It was disgusting.

im still there just to watch if they are talking crap lol im gonna leave though

My feelings about the ECTA is that it seems like they are price fixing, but their price fixing doesn't seem to be unreasonable, considering that they're mostly pricing at the MSRP.

Another thing that I feel is that all of those vendors are being bashed for gouging customers with high prices, but are these people comparing their pricing to similar products or the exact brand?

I personally would rather have a stamp of excellence on a said brand and pay a little more for it, than think that I am getting a good product, only to find that the vendor doesn't stand behind their knock-off product.

Do that many people think a certain vendor is a "hero of the people" just because they sell cheap knock-offs?
I just received a very immature email in my inbox from a vendor who seems to think that of themselves.

I take issue with the "cheap knock offs" thing.....what exactly are you referring to? Lots of vendors sell all sorts of batteries and they are all mass produced in chinese factories. Some are Joytech and some are not, this has been discussed a million times here but I have had the same failure rate across the board with joyetech and clones.........I just don't like the term "cheap knock off".

It's not a cheap knockoff, you're right Mac. People are quick to say certain things are cheap knockoffs, but aren't able to qualify why another certain brand is any better. Last time I checked anyways the majority of Canadian vendors sell all the same type of stuff from all the same chinese factories. It's not like there's that much variation. The large suppliers supply everyone with the same stuff.

I really hope we don't have to rehash the whole joyetech vs. Non-Joyetech thing again, that would be absolutely ridiculous.

For one example, I have purchased an authentic joyetech ego-c and a KSD ego-c. There is a definite difference in quality between these 2 products. The joyetech works right out of the box like a charm, the KSD felt like I was just sucking air. I know I'm going against the grain here as there are so many rabid fans of vendors that supply the cheaper products, but I just think it's silly that so many people bash the so called "expensive" vendors when they are selling a different product. If the products are the same, you'll usually only find a small percentage of a difference in price.

And yes, you're right, I shouldn't use the term "cheap knock-off". It sounds insulting.

Isn't this a place where people can state their opinions?

Anyways, I'm inflamed because I got an email from a vendor who I dealt with once and then received an immature email insulting other vendors I buy from. Confused, I search ECTA in the forum, and voila, it's And a big bash fest. Because I feel strongly about quality over price (which from what I can gather is what the ECTA is trying to promote), I decided to jump in.

I may be way off the mark, because I'm just new and misinterpreting it wrong, but that's my thoughts anyways.

Compare apples and apples then:
Take the eGo C Twist 650mAh as an example:

ECTA Vendors:
Rainbow Vapor: $30.99
CapitalNicFit: $30.00
EVape: $33.99
NicFitNation: $28.97

Canvape: $22.95

and IMO "cheap knockoffs" are more often than not just as good if not better than the "branded" version. Just as I would never in a million years pay $60 for a Monster "branded" HDMI cable when I can get a non-branded version which will do the exact same thing for $10, I would never pay $11 for a Joye atomizer if I can get pretty much the exact same thing for $6 (which most likely came from the same factory).

Ever hear the term "loss leader"? He's obviously not making profit on that. And apparently he's created a rabid fan base with ones like that. lol

If joytech owns the brand name ego and design then yes all these other clones are indeed knock offs. They are simply using the same materials and design but skipping the quality control and branding fee and selling them for cheap. It's like the fake nike air jordans or yeezy's that also come from china and use the same materials just very little quality control. They may perform well for a while but they do not stand up to the name brand.
