Is that different from an 808/510 adapter? I would like to try some of the new tech that's ego or 510 but I just got a Volt Spinner. I just don't want to switch over completely until my SI batteries die. If I need to I'll get both adapters.

Yes it's a different adapter... 808/ego. It adds length but not much and it works great. The Evods are great little clearomizers and the draw is perfect, even with the adapter. You should also get a straight sleeve or cone to cover the battery threads. It gives a more finished look to the setup.

Getting both adapters will give you more options for additional clearomizers to use on them. SI batteries are so durable and will last a long long time before crapping out.

JoAnn, have you tried the Evod on your Spinners and manual X2s? I just tried one of my Evods on mine and it worked on all of them w/o an adapter.

I don't actually have one of the EVODs myself, but from looking at the pics...

...I love the fact that the bottom connector base is smooth and NOT knurled, unlike most other rebuildable devices are. Also, the replacement heads are just $1.50!!: Atomizer Head for Kanger EVOD eGo Bottom Coil Clearomizer

Yes I tried but threading does not catch. The post inside the Evod is too long as well as the post in the SI spinners/X2s. I didn't want to apply pressure to force the connection. Since I do have adapters, it's not worth risking either.

I'm happy for you that you don't have to use adapters... Maybe not all SI spinners/X2s are created equally!?!

This is why you have to use the 808 to ego adapter, not 808 to 510 on SI's spinner/X2s.

You must try the Evod... you'll love it I'm sure.

I hadn't even tried the Evod on my Volt gear because I had read the threading on Volts is not actually eGo threading. Then while I was reading this thread I got the idea of trying the Evod I had in use on my 4 Volt Spinners and the one manual X2 I have. I was really surprised that it worked on all of them. It doesn't screw down flush but I didn't try to force it on any further than it would go. The Evod even works on the 2 auto X2s I have, though it's a really puny vape. When I get a chance I'll fill the other Evod I have to see if it works too. Could just be a fluke with the one I'm using right now.

JoAnn, it IS the Evod I have. I filled the other one and it won't even screw onto the Volts at all.

Then I did a little experimenting. The Evod that works on my volts will work on the Vision Spinner but won't fire on the eGo Twist or my mini eGos. So I compared the two Evods. The post on the one that works on Volts is not out as far as the post on the other. I probably should pull it up a little so it will work on the batteries it's supposed to. I wish they made Evods with 808 threading, I really like them.

Okay..... I lifted the post on the Evod and now it works with all the eGos. I'm not even going to try it on the Volts for fear of pushing the post back in.

Mystery solved!!! LOL

Well that explains it! Thanks for that information and I will continue to use adapters on the SI batts.

It would be great if SI would consider them because they are really great little clearo's.

The only cartos I like are SI's and I use shorty adapters with them on my 510 stuff. Have you used the Evods on your mini eGos? It's a nice setup when you want to take something small with you..... but the battery is only good for a few hours.

Most of the time, that is my setup for on the go. I usually take two setups but rarely had to use the second one unless I want a different flavor. I feel the battery life is extremely long for such little batteries because none have died out while I'm away from home.

I have 2 of Smokeless Image's 900mah spinner batts, and am completely thrilled with their functioning in general, and especially with their long 8-10 hour charge life. However that being said, after many hours of scouring the internet and suffering frustration with the total lack of available rebuildable delivery devices out there for an eGo/808, I am planning on switching over to Vision's 900mah Spinners. I know there are a few eGo/808 devices out there, but mostly only from SI, and I want to have the flexibility of being able to shop around to find and use ANY AND ALL eGo type equipment, and not have to worry about trying to find the eGo/808 specific stuff to specifically fit an SI Spinner eGo.

So my question to you is:
Since you have the "standard" eGo batts, why do you even still mess with SI's "big batts" at all?

Is there something I am unaware of that makes the SI spinners or X2's more desirable than their eGo counterparts? I have only read about the eGo-C Twist being harder to spin the voltage adjustment knob as compared to SI's, but are there other reasons that would make the SI spinner preferable too?

It gets complicated, but I'll try to explain w/o writing a novel. :)

Two years ago I went back to vaping with my 510's and then added eGos. I was struggling (again) until Aug. 2011 when I got Volt stick batts and SI cartos. They were the first thing I had tried that made me stop craving cigarettes. I had also recently found Nite Lite Vapers. I loved their juices and they work so well in cartos. I still use NLV flavors, they are my favorite tobaccos and I have added a few other suppliers for nicquid. Now I'm getting into DIY but will continue to buy some of my favorite ready made flavors. I like tobaccos and some dessert flavors.

When I heard that some dessert flavors are better at low voltages, I decided to try a VV. Volt Spinners had not come out at that time, so I bought a Twist. Then I tried a Vision Spinner and liked that better than the Twist. Both give a good vape but the Spinner is easier to read. And it's true, some of my flavors are much better at a lower voltage. Once SI came out with Spinners I bought theirs. I rely a lot on cartos and use CE3s and Nanos sometimes. I can use them on all my Volt PVs. I like some of the clearomizer style devices, but not for all my liquids. Then I bought a few mini eGos, simply because they're cute and girly.

The 808s are my favorite PVs but I already had some eGos and I like having a small collection of 510/eGo batteries. I even have a few box mods, mainly in case the other batteries would not be available in the future or become super expensive. Many of the juice delivery devices are interchangeable with the use of adapters. I don't feel like it has to be a matter of one or the other and like having equipment in both types of threading. I like smaller sized PVs. None of my fat batts are larger than 650. I also like the smaller sized clearomizers; don't want any larger than mini T3s or mini novas.

Just one additional comment: Since I like the 808 devices, I get any of that equipment I can from Smokeless Image. Their products are good quality and the company is good to work with. In the nearly two years I've dealt with them I've gotten just two batteries that weren't right and they were promptly replaced.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :) But if I haven't answered your questions, please let me know.

What it boils down to is that I have found equipment that I like-- that suits me. Each person has to find what works for them and gives them the most pleasure. After all, pleasure is what vaping is all about. Only when it becomes a pleasure is it a workable alternative to smoking.
