Yesterday I went to pick up my dog's dishes with my 1000 mah twist in my hand. When i went to put it in my pocket to pick up the dog bowls I missed my pocket somehow and the twist fell on the carpet. From my pocket to the carpet was only a few feet. When i picked it up the bottomside of the button was stuck in and cocked sideways like this / ..but not constantly firing. I was a bit ticked off because it only fell a few feet onto carpet and my regular 1000mah ego I cant even count how many times I had it on my lap and jumped out the truck and sent it to the ground like a missile..always worked fine though..just scratched the finish a bit.

I thought maybe its just stuck in that funny position and if i mess with it a bit i can get it to pop back out. Nope! Its permanently stuck like that..either the circuit board the button is on moved inside or the top of the button broke from the board and is sticking out...not sure yet.
I found out that If i use what little nail i have on my thumb and press in on the bottom of the button it will fire.
So im able to use it..though it is a pain since the bottom of the button is in past the curved part of the head.
I'll probably end up yanking the head off to see If I can fix it..only reason I haven't already is last time i pulled a head off a UGO I had to pull hard and when it gave I ended up pulling the wires from their spots on the circuit..major pain to mess with those tiny wires.
Anyone else have issues with their buttons?...seems kinda flimsy for that small amount of force to break it..really sucks because other than that I love the battery...performs well and seemed durable enough.

Edit... 80 views later and no responses..guess I just had bad luck on that one

There was another thread like this just hours ago. I'll just repeat what I said. Same thing happened to me. I just kept using it anyway with the difficulty of pushing the button, then having to use my nail to pull it out to stop it firing. After a few days, the button loosened back up again. It still didn't slide back into centered position but it works like a charm. It's more like a rocker switch now which I actually prefer :D

ah..mine seems to have went in a little further even...don't think its going to come back out on its own..and also got stuck a few times firing..definitely wasn't just the light because the atty was sizzling...had to unscew it and mess with it for a bit to get it to stop..seems like a matter of time before it either breaks something inside or gets permanently stuck firing..going to have to replace it.

The buttons break because they are made of brittle plastic. There are replacement buttons for eGos but I'm not sure if anyone has tried them on the Twist. The replacements, these ones anyway, are rubber and would be ideal, in my opinion, if they are long enough to reach inside. They are $1 each or $0.65 each if you order 10 or more.

Buttons for ego, KGO, riva

I have made a replacement button (for an eGo clone) from a white pencil eraser. It actually works (and feels) better than the original.

Took the head off three times and readjusted the button and circuit board..thankfully didnt break the wire connection..but everytime i put it back together I push the button in and it doesnt make contact until its back in the old crooked position..done messing with it until my replacement arrives

I've had a few clones apart but not a Twist, yet. Do you find that the button has a point where it presses on the micro-switch? That point is what usually breaks on the others but I'm not sure about the Twist.

Yeah it does have a small cylindrical nub coming off the back...though i have an ego clone here that I took apart awhile ago and the button on the clone is a bit bigger with a bigger nub on the back...my problem on the twist seems to be the chip isnt staying put in its spot and getting pushed back and down when i push the button in the first time..so afterwards i can only activate the switch by pushing in far on the very bottom of the button.

Don't want to risk breaking the positive wire connection by taking if off again until I get another one though...also my girlfriends twist won't charge now..I have a vivi nova V1 that she's using now and the long connection pin coming out the bottom pushed the twists positive post down to where it wont make contact with a brand new charger...just ordered a thread adapter so I can charge that one. Only had these things for a few weeks and already they're both giving me problems.

Don't feel bad, my 1000ma fell out of my pocket and landed in front of my riding mower, I don't think the button had a chance to stick.

Lol awesome...sorry for the loss but its a funny image...reminds me of a job I used to do cutting grass along the highway years ago and when I got a phonecall on my new cellphone..fumbled it and it fell and i swiftly ran it over with the big back tire of the tractor..cruunch....after buy another nice cellphone a few weeks later almost the same exact thing happened..I felt like repeatedly banging my head into a tree...after this I bought the cheapest POS cellphone I could find.

The circuit board should be held in slots in the half-round plastic holder. Maybe part of the slot is broken or cracked, allowing the board to move.

I agree it's best to have a backup before tinkering too much. The wire is like a hair! It is a protection though because the thin wire acts like a fuse in case a short circuit occurs.

I use a lanyard when mowing (or boating). It requires a threaded sleeve on the eGo threads to hold the attachment unless I am using a Star Dust. Apparently I have made a good investment!

The post in the battery is just pushed too far down to make contact with the attachment or the charger and what people recommend is to turn off the battery and then with something small enough to fit, gently pry up while going around the post so it comes up a bit and try and see if it works.

This video shows it and the thread was just in another forum.. may be worth a try :)

This happens to me on one particular twist all the time. Roby if you hold the twist horizontal and with the button pointing down to the floor it's easier to get things lined up again. pull apart till it's just away from the battery, then push it back in. Every thing aligns itself without any additional fiddling.
