I've tried using the Cubis RBA on the AIO and liked it better than the stock coil (think it was one of the lung hit coils) but once it got all used up, I tried rebuilding it maybe once and gave up lol. I don't have a knack for rebuilding and that thing seemed especially hard being so small. Maybe I'll try again one day but seems like more trouble than its worth and it would just be easier for me to pop in a brand new coil. I'm still using the first Clapton coil I put in, its weird though, sometimes I get a burntish tasting hit and I think the coils gone bad and the next hit its gone. Maybe its when the juice gets low or something. Think I wanna try the Notch next. That's only for use with temp control right?

The notch can be used in wattage or temp control!

Technically good for both TC & non TC. I believe you should make a concerted effort to use it in TC mode for its longevity.
  • You have already burned up one coil vaping in non-TC mode.
  • I've had mine quite a bit longer and am still vaping the original 0.25ohm Notch Coil I put in day 1 and its tasting just like the day I first put it in.
Big difference.

Really wanted to get The egrip, but have been waiting to try the notch coils in my cubis tank first, as I wasn't impressed with the original coil options in the cubis due to the small juice flow holes and dry hits.

Today I picked up one of the new notch coils, and was initially very happy with it. However after it had been sitting for two hours I tried it again and had the worst spitting and flooding I've ever had from a tank. Tipped it upside down and liquid literally poored our of the drip tip.

Also tried with the aromamiser anti spit drip tip which didn't help and got incredibly hot.

If this is representative of the egrip i'll be giving it a miss and sticking with the Plato, despite it's filling issues.

Well, it arrived an extra day late. Got it 2 hours ago and filled it ASAP with the Notch coil and everything's cool so far.

Tried it in both Power and TC and have found no issues whatsoever with burnt/plastic flavours. No spitback, no dry hits. If anything, the flavour tastes a bit weak, but it might be my liquid.

Happy with the size, build, controls, price. I'm a happy man so far.

Hasn't been my experience to get outright coil flooding as you describe. Sounds like your tank vacuum pressure seal was somehow compromised causing the flooding. check your tank and coil seals.

Well just removed the coil, removed excess juice, cleaned everything and refilled.

Straight away had the spitting again. When you remove the drip tip you can actually see the eliquid bubbling up from the coil. Not been able to clear the spitting after trying all the suggestions I've seen on here and other sites.

Could be a dodgy coil but just seems to be too common a problem. It's a shame as I really like the concept of these topfill top air flow systems, and the notch coils do vape very well when not flooded.

Good things come to those that wait and you certainly have. Makes that VT look like a paperweight doesn't it. Give the coil a little time to break in and your flavor should come through a bit more. My vape is very moist so its kind of a different flavor than other tanks.

certainly wouldn't be the first bad coil from Joyetech I've heard of. Never tried it yet but they seem pretty easy to re-wick them Might be a one off bad coil. Doesn't sound like your seals if you get the opposite behavior on the cubis coil.

This vid may help

Don't get me wrong, mine spits like a machine gun sometimes expecially on the first vape of the day if I didn't use it the day before or something like that, but the kind of flooding you describe screams broken oring

Does your juice has a decent PG/VG mix? I'm on a 20P/80V and have no problems at all.

EDIT: So, this morning I filled it up with a regular Liqua 50/50 mix, and it gurgles, and it spits like a motherspitter! There was a really nasty drop that went straight to the back wall of my throat and it hurt badly, I'm still coughing it up. I'm gonna drain that and make sure to get higher VG mixes only.
EDIT2: After letting sit for about 2 hours during work, I was ready to drain it up, but gave it a last try and the spitting stopped.

Alright so I'm giving the notch coil a try with the temp control. I put in the coil last night after priming it, let it sit for about ten minutes in the tank with the juice, then vaped it in wattage mode. It was a little harsh, so I just left it alone and had to go to bed anyways. Got up today and tried hitting it again. Very gurgly. So now I'm gonna try out the temp control. I have it in the SS mode, now my question is, why am I able to set the temperature and wattage separately? I'm more confused now... thought I would only have to adjust the temperature. I have it at 280 and 35 watt right now, it's actually hitting ok but I'm confused about what to adjust now to find my sweet spot with this.

The ability to set the wattage separately allows you to control the aspects of the vape. In wattage mode you apply a wattage that does not overheat the coil and gives you a satisfying vape. It takes a while to heat the coil up to temp for that satisfying vape though and at the end of your vape your coil might be reaching dangerous temperatures.

In TC you have more options. You have ability to set the high limit temperature(figure 400f-480f & you will probable settle on 450f but start lower & work your way to your satisfying vape temp) you don't want to exceed. Wattage is still adjustable and you can set it much higher than you normally would to provide a pre-heat punch of power to get your coil up to the set temperature as quickly as possible without burning the juice/wick with the initial jolt (start at your normal applied and adjust so you coil warms more quickly without burning) so you get to temp more quickly. The result is that preheat delay you were used to in Wattage mode can be minimized for near instant on vaping.

Just remember the Notch heats faster than a normal coil so don't apply too much too quickly as temp limiting takes about a second to start.

So I have an issue and did a quick search and didn't find anything. I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my girlfriend. On one, the led light stays on for a few seconds after hitting the fire button and on the other it doesn't. The led only stays on for as long as the button is pressed, but goes out after release. Is there a setting for this? I'd like to have the led stay on for those few seconds, but can't seem to figure out how to do this.
