This must be the best contribution to the DIY forum ever. I think you should update your first post noting all the new stuff you have added since the original calculator, because I hadn't looked at it until recently thinking it was just a calculator. If you would like, I can edit it for you (just send me a PM).

I noticed the Junior Mints recipe says Menthol Liquid (LorAnn) as one of the flavors used, but LorAnn doesn't sell any liquid form, just crystals. You may want to change it to homemade so people don't buy the Menthol Eucalyptus they sell.

Thanks!
Unfortunatly that was August of last year and I can not edit the first post. :(

Good I have changed them all to DIY Menthol Liquid.
Thanks,
Dan

That can be done also using Section 1 of the calculator. If you start with a PG base, you can then put in what % you want for the VG.

Yes but remember if you add VG you must add a water% or it will ignore the VG%. You can put like 1% in the water field and just add that total to the VG amount if you dont want to add water. But if someone adds 50% VG then they should be adding water.

If you start with VG and add PG at 30 or 40% do you need to add water to the actual mix?
Marcia

It depends on if the VG nic has been diluted with water. Normally you can slosh it back and forth to check its thickness. If it IS thick and moves slow, then I would add, not more than 20% water/PGA/Alcohol.
Hope this helps.

One more question. What exactly is tobacco absolute and why or what would a person use it for? Sorry guess I should get all my thoughts together at one time.

TA is a thick ickor for lack of a better work. It is concentrated tobacco flavor or essence. People use it to add a strong tobacco flavor to mixes. Normally you use 2 drops per 10ml of PG or Alcohol. And then add 1-2 drops of that 10ml dilution per ml of your ejuice.
Hope that helps.

I'm new to DIY, but anyhow, I was mixing a recipe using VG and noticed that the water added percentage is total volume percentage. So I had to do a little math to to get the proper percentage of just the VG. Am I doing this correctly? I mean at 15% flavoring there's less VG, isn't the water supposed to be calculated on the amount of VG to thin it down?

No, not if you are using the "VG" side of the house, since the total mix is all VG, except for the flavoring you add. The PG side is done that way, only on the VG added, but since the entire liquid IS Vg then the water is based off the toal liquid used.
Make sense?
