Lost another istick. My scorpions must have died :D

Hey Kent C.

This makes 3 or 4 you've "lost", right? What exactly is happening to yours? All died in the same way? Are these 20s or 30s?

I have a 30 that died about a month ago. Just suddenly stopped firing.

How are the Invaders doing?

Hi everybody I haven't been on here or followed up on all the new goodies coming out, I've been content with my istick 30 watts and my gs m tanks. But now I see eleaf is putting out a temp control 40 watt mod and nickle coils too, can someone plz explain the benefits of temp control and Nick coils. It seems to be the route alot of companies are going. Thank you
If set properly you can get longer battery life and use less juice because of maintaining a set temperature of the coil instead of the temperature being dependent on the changing resistance of the coil, length of draw, air flow, and juice saturation. You can vape without burning juice or wicks, so you get cleaner burning coils with less gunking. No nasty dry hits no matter how hard or long you hit your atty, or if it runs completely out of juice. Easy to find your sweet spot and it will maintain it consistently. You can also join a new thread and discuss and argue how the new mods perform and how they need to do this and that, TC versus VW, whether it's temp regulation or temp control, fad or future, etc. :)

Two 20's, two 30's and the one 20 I should have sent back - it would go to 'protection' above 11W, iirc, right out of the box. But I vaped it with a flavor that I only needed 10W - worked fine for about three weeks then lost the connection via the 510 - no 'fix' from here worked. One other 20W also lost connection but much later. The 30's displayed the 'protection' alert and quit firing even with the better 510. They lasted much longer but should have still worked (as far as battery life span goes)- they all get divided time on vaping between the flavors I have going and the DW's as well. And oh yeah... the scorpions died on the last one.

Have you tried disconnecting the ground and resetting the chipset, Bike?
I am goin to do that last when I find one of my solderin irons and solder. Usually a circuit that is in need of a hard reset will lock in wrong and stay that way until it is powered down and rebooted. This thing will work properly for several hours and then screw up. Then it'll go back to working fine again. Working with electronics I've found most random failures (if found in the circuitry) were caused by overheating or moisture. I heard it fire up last night on my desk when it was completely cold and had to hunt for it (among the mess of mods and attys) because it was turned around and the light was out. It went through 2 10second cycles before I got the atty off. It's working fine right now.......:)

I took it apart and fired it with an atty on it and it still autofired a couple of times. There are no visible problems. The silicon has been sloppily applied and is filling the void below the heat sink. I would consider that a possibility if it only gave problems when warm. I let the patient rest while charging a bit and it seems to be working fine again. I've become somewhat attached to it after bringin it back to life..:) It's not perfect and a little temperamental (like some of my resurrected bikes) but I still enjoy usin it. :)

Sweet Vapes has the TC 40 Express Kit in stock now! Black and Silver:

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Express Kit

I've decided that I'm going to hold out for grey...and my silly cone cases. They don't appear to be there yet.

Update- Kanvape has just the grey in stock today, and should have other colors and day now.

BE AWARE that Sweet Vapes only gives 30 day warranties on eLeafs and will not honor the 90 day manufacturers warranty. Apparently KanVape only does 30 too
