If you're an airhead you've already seen this.

Unfortunately it cracked before its first fill, either in shipping or during the first build, I noticed it after I built the base and right before I filled the tank. Filled it anyhow to see if it was bad enough to leak, it is.

Okay all you eLeaf People in da House!

Going to pick up a TC40W this Friday from a local B&M, the owner is giving it to me at a few points above cost which is still crazy at $55 CAD. The USD is just too strong these days, which is great for you guys as consumers, but hell for the rest of us folks.

This B&M has Ni wire in stock the UD prepackaged stuff, which I assume will be fine till I can get some other stuff online. The gauges he has in stock are 26, 28 & 32. My default wire is 26g Kanthal and I usually build between 0.5 and 1.2 ohm depending on the device.

So my question is which Ni gauge wire should I get? I assume the 28 would probably be my best choice of the three. Should I be looking for a source of Ti as well and what is the recommended gauge for it?

If I have missed any other options or you have a better idea, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks!

Sorry bout your KS @SUPER K.
It is an excellent RTA, I've put three builds on this already and ran 4 tankful's through it.

What builds have you tried and what did you end up liking the best? I ran a .75 ohm 24g coil that was a little slow but hit to hard for me. 2nd build is a 1.5 ohm 26g that suits ea little better. I may end up going 1.5 ohm 28g for faster ramp up.

I have not tried a 24g build in it, personally I don't think there is enough airflow to warrant a 24g build's power requirements to get over the slow ramp time.

I had two 3mm coils that came with one of the latest shipments atties. I put one in the KS and the other in the K.loud each coil was 1 ohm. That first build worked quite well at 25W and had great flavor. Then I mangled that coil after getting the chimney stuck down onto the base (too tight) and had the bright idea of putting a jewelers screwdriver down the throat to get a turn on the chimney. Well the screwdriver slipped and punched down through that coil. All I had in my EDC vape kit was a small piece of 28 and some 27g sample wire. I built a 1.4 ohm out of the 27g and didn't quite like the vape I got from it even turning the power down to 18W. After that tank was almost done I put my standard 26g 7 wraps on a 2.4mm mandrel for 0.8 ohms. Wicked with Japanese Cotton and back up to 25W for a great vape again.

I think that this will be my go to build for the KS, 7 or 8 wraps of 26g on 2.4mm. I might play with another 3mm coil on the next tankful. I find the 28g a little too flimsy to work with and will roast the center of a wick out quite quickly if you get juice not feeding properly. I also hate rewicking 28g.

no dimensions given yet!

You should wait on anything new from this company I am sorry to say

THE iStick 40W TC so far seems fine and I would recommend it

However the 50W has a lot of major defect issues to say the least, that they have done nothing about whatsoever I am aware of, I do not know what the verdict is on their 100W is????

therefore I suggest you use caution before you jump on the train until its proven to be good

There is a lot of other new TC Battery stuff coming out that could be better

I don't understand why folks say the TC40 is underpowered for TC. It ramps to temp quick and vapes warm at 400 to 420 on a .6 ohm twisted build. I vape at about the same temp on it as I do my SX Mini, VaporShark, or Evic VT I sold. I haven't tried any other build cause I'm busy with an IRS audit. Gotta get ready for a shutdown job starting Monday....no time for much.

Most of what I've shipped is 6 to 10 US loonies on small items. Not a skookum deal but not too bad eh? I would do the same for my old Canuck buddy . Anything to keep him off the darts, eh?

Much Thanks tibs & Bike!
I appreciate the offer immensely!

But like things do in this most excellent game we call vaping, cindycated has pointed me towards an eVic VTC mini. Which does look good to me and is cheaper than the iSitck. I'll get some Ti wire from Unkamen, be all set to go full on SS tanks and just vape till it's dry. :D

Okay, the shinyitis is back for me. I guess I'll wait to hear the next best sale on them and grab one (or 2, or 3).

Although it doesn't always list ALL the current sales...it does give a pretty good base line:

Where are you getting a VTC mini that's cheaper than the istick?
I've been waiting for a good deal on the VTC base kit. I need to source a couple batteries and a charger as well, to do the thing properly. All my mods so far have had built in batteries.

Just got one step closer to a good build. 28 g twisted lightly, 1 ohm build non contact coil. Wicks stuffed inside, just barely protruding from wick wells at top. No dry hitting and good flavor.
