Hello guys! I'm fairly new to the concept of vaping. But from what I learned its a much better choice if you can't stop smoking cigarettes. I am about to order my first setup tomorrow.

The choices I am stuck with is whether to get a (1)vtc mini+toptank mini or the (2)pico with M3M. I have no clue how both of these tanks compare to each other, specially when it comes to flavor.

Also I wanted to try the serpent tank as some of my friends said its a much better tank compared to the toptank mini and very easy to wick. I never built anything but I think with some practice I can do that as well.

But if I do pick the serpent I would have to get the (3)vtc mini+serpent because they don't sell the pico mod separately here. Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance and sorry if this post came out to be off topic.

How the 510 for the pico, shallow like evic mini?
The 510 seems better on the Pico than the VTC Mini (no wobble). I don't know if the pin is any deeper.

Already have a Panasonic NCR 18650B 3400 mah in my arsenal.
Those are 3A continuous and 4A max batteries. I have a couple that I use in a flashlight. They were fairly safe batteries to use in 15 watt Vamo mods which had a 1.5 ohm resistance limit. I don't recommend using them in a Pico with modern low resistance coils. Even if it fits, it's the wrong battery.

for first time user simplicity, it is hard to beat the Pico....and you will have room to branch out later on if you so desire. That being said....both of those mods are good options, that are comparable in capability, so it comes down to personal choice....The VTC mini is a bit easier in battery swaping (magnetic door vs. screw on cap), but the pico is smaller.

Bah, get both :D

The true problem here in using batteries that do not support the max amps your mod can push is that they can potentially do some harmful things if your mod sets itself too high from being in a pocket or the atomizer shorting out. Most people think they only need a battery that can output the amps they vape at. It's very dangerous to have your atomizer short out momentarily or have your mod set itself at maximum wattage in your pocket and cause the battery go into thermal runaway or worse, explode. Get the battery that can support your mods maximum output. It's typically listed in the specs.
I don't say any of this to be argumentative or say "you're doing it wrong". I only say this to hopefully save an accident or two that could potentially cause someone bodily injury or death in a "perfect storm" scenario.

I really like the pico mod. It looks so slick and sexy. But not sure how much the flavor compares with the top tank mini :( . . . Atm I only have funds to get one setup. Thanks for the quick reply man :D

Forget the VTC Mini. Buy the Pico. You'll love it.

my personal experience is the flavor will be comparable....and the melo 3 mini can fit the cCell ceramic coils....which are great.

there is more to it then just that.....he says he only vapes at 20 watts.....but on a regulated mod, as the battery voltage drops, the mod pulls more amperage to make up the difference and maintain the wattage setting, so at 20 watts, on a .8 ohm coil, as the battery depletes to 3.4 volts, the mod is pulling 6 amps.....which gives zero head room on that cell.

You're absolutely right. Just didn't want to get too crazy with the numbers for him. I don't think people really realize how much power it really takes to vaporize e juice. These little 18650's are little power houses of energy.

The toptank mini comes with an RBA head. If you have the stuff to make your own coils it will save you a fair bit of money over time.

Hey guys, I am about to place my order for one of these beauties and was wondering if they work with a button top battery. Already have a Panasonic NCR 18650B 3400 mah in my arsenal. As I mentioned, it's a button top, and I think the B in the in the model number means it is the 'unprotected" type - whatever that means...

BTW, I only vape at 20 watts max, and use kanthal or nichrome. Here is a link to the battery:

$8.93 Panasonic NCR18650B 18650 3.7V 3400mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - button top / 55mohm internal resistance at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
I would seriously recommend you to stop using that battery. It's really not suited for vaping. It's a hybrid battery, but close to volatile icr chemistry which will vent with flames in case of catastrophic failure. The cdr is also not sufficient for most vaping use. It's a 6.8 amp battery, and at 20w you're exceeding that limit.

Resistance doesn't matter on a regulated mod, watts do. However, that battery is nonetheless not suitable for vaping.

Problem is that that's impossible to do with some of the newer mods. I'm talking about 100w single-battery and 200w dual-battery mods. I feel safe using a 20 amp battery in a 75w device like the Pico though, even if the maximum wattage exceeds the cdr of the batteries.

I wouldn't buy a battery from Fasttech either. With all the fakes going around, I wouldn't want to buy from a company based in China JMO.

VTC Mini and Pico are very comparable. I hear the temperature control sucks on the VTC Mini. Not sure about the Pico, but it's never very good in these cheap TC mods.

Pico is smaller though. I think the display on the VTC mini is nicer, but the Pico has an easier interface to use.

I was rebuilding protank coils after the first month. Saves a lot of money. I have a friend that said his neighbor was rebuilding his first week. Just watch a video or have a friend teach you.
