I think I might pass as I don't like that they simplified the tc screen by removing the display of the wattage ramp up setting.
Didnt realize they did that. I probably won't update then. Why does every company try to simplify stuff. I'm a nerd I like complexity and more information. I want live battery voltage readings, live ohm reading as temp changes, live watt readings, total time ive had fire button pushed since I last reset the timer (like car odometer) and why not throw in the chance of rain reading. :)
thx, just installed it.... wish it didnt reset watts in tc mode to 75w.... think its time to rewick

I agree with you there. Either have a simplified mode or firmware for people who don't want to see it all or perhaps have bad vision. It is a small screen, but the data they show on the previous versions is easy enough to read.

NERD, Then you would enjoy a DNA with Escribe. Think of all the trouble you could get into! :)

Can you set custom curves on all dna mods? I could probably get lost for hours messing with those.

yes, all but the dna40 as I understand it. I have 2 x smy sdna75 (both in rotation) and will be buying more hand over fist when/if they are back in stock at ecig for $50 or less

Oh you would LOVE a DNA mod. I can mess around with mine for hours (just did on my new VT75). And the other feature? Device Monitor! Generate all kinds of cool real time graphs of activity while in use. Gather all the data points to your hearts content for slicing and dicing. Completely unnecessary from a vaping perspective, but a blast for your inner nerd needs.

I am looking at getting a DNA VT75, one site has them for $50. But it would be several weeks before I had the means to buy one, even at that price. I still have to get new batteries for my Pico first, and then more flavors, PG, and some more VG for my DIY so that I can save more money by not buying mixed juice. But looking around for the DNA 75, The price ranges on those from site to site vary quite a bit. Like $50 to $120.

It looks like I'll have the Pico as my primary mod for a while. Hopefully the prices on the DNA VT75's stays low and doesn't skyrocket due to the FDA.

That's where I got mine at that price. I believe they're on sale as the VT75 nano came out, essentially replacing the VT75. Only difference is the nano is smaller (surprise) and only uses an 18650 battery (which is why it ended up smaller). That's going for more money. Hopefully the VT75 will remain in stock for you. If not, I'm sure other deals will pop up by then.

Everything about the HCigar VT75 Nano is great, except the horrible threading on the coin style battery cover. If anyone wants to know more, I'll try and find my posts regarding that issue. Cheapest price I could find was at my favorite online store MVS, at $85. After my last BAD experience with Gearbest, I no longer buy from the cheap Chinese sites, I don't like gambling my money, the FDA rulings will severely impact these outlets.

The SMY SDNA75 is still the best deal, I bought 4 of them.

Update

So still all my other mods have just sat in a drawer since March. I've only used my white Pico. Still love the size and looks and it works flawlessly. I'm really loving the Smart mode too. Thank goodness this thing was released before August 8th. I can survive on Picos just fine (though there are a few others like the HCigar VT75 Nano, Asmodus Stride and Wismec Noisy Cricket II-25 that I may wind up getting). I like small though which brings me to this past week.

As I've said before, I use prebuilt coils, and last week I got a couple of Aspire Atlantis EVOs. I've mainly been using Cleitos, but I enjoy Atlantis coils and the options available for compatible coils. The EVO looks killer, I love the 2ml size for pocket-ability yes love having the option of a 4ml extension, which is slightly more that the Cleito holds. I also really wanted to try the new EVO .4 and .5 coils.

The new coils are great plain and simple and the coil being the chimney is something I love about the Cleito too. I like airflow but not as much as some so to give you an example, I cut the Cleito airflow down by two thirds. the EVO .4 coil has the airflow of a Cleito and I cut the EVO airflow by two thirds for it was well. The EVO .5 coil is a little tighter like an Atlantis coil and I run the EVO with airflow wide open for that one. The .4 is suppose to lean on cloud production and the .4 is suppose to lean towards flavor, but I'd say their pretty even on both - close enough that it's not a deciding factor on which coil to choose.

Anyway, there was a problem. The EVO just didn't look great on the white Pico. Considering I was holding out for more Pico color options and that probably won't happen now, at least in the US, it was time to pick up a second Pico in black.

It's looking so nice, but the EVO is so compact, that I decided I needed an even more stealth device for stuff like going out to dinner, so I just ordered a Vaporesso Target Mini too. I don't have it yet though.

So back to my new black Pico. I have to say that compared to my white one, I'm a little disappointed. the batter cap is not nearly as smooth, I have to be very careful on the timing of my five clicks to turn it one and off, and though the buttons don't rattle on their own, the do if I tap on them. Overall, the build quality just isn't as good as my white one. For the cheap price, do I really care? No. I'm still thrilled with it.

I picked up two sdna from ecig, same price as they're now selling the vt75. I used their 10% off, and once shipping is added they came in just barely over $50. Speedy, good transactions.

OTOH I've also had consistently good luck with both GearBest and fasttech. I always bump the shipping option, to one of the USPS variants that runs about $1.50. Things still typically take 2 - 3 weeks from order to receipt, but at those price points I'm content. I've only had one bad item in a bunch of orders, and they sent me a whole new one rather than just the small part of it that was defective.

Lol, Where did you get your Pico from? Maybe you got the one I just sent back. :)

Also can you post, or better yet, Pm me a link to where you got the larger tank at on the white one in the last picture? How well does it produce vapor? I am trying to find a good setup for my Aunt, and I know it needs to be one where she doesn't have to build the coils. Thanks.

I put the new firmware on the Pico and it's working just fine. I do like the new battery bar on the TC screen and how often do you adjust power in TC mode anyway.

How do you update?
Do you just plug in the usb to the computer or do you go to the eleaf web site? Thanks

Instructions. (kind of surprised no one has posted in detail on this)

1. Go to update site and download firmware Here.

Jl0fgBs.jpg

2. Extract the zip file.
179kBdW.jpg

3. Plug the Pico in with USB cable.

4. Run the .exe Update file and select run on any security prompt.
EINvyg7.jpg

L3OWONK.jpg

5. Select logo and browse file for logo update. And select update and browse .bin file for Windows to update the firmware.
e2QNFp5.jpg

Do not run the .exe update file, go to select a logo file or bin file, and then exit and unplug the Pico or you will brick your device like I JUST DID making this tutorial.

Notice the firmware version on my device? I fixed it by uploading a logo. I went to update the logo and I exited the box before I selected the file and it bricked the device.

Updating will reset all settings to default. (watts, temp, etc).
