The real takeaway from today is: The istick is really a 4.2 - 5.5(+?)V device. That doesn't necessarily make it bad, just not what the manufacturer claims it to be.

Goodnight all...

I agree with this based on subjective taste testing (come on Phil, post up the data).

Vrms is calculated to satisfy Ohm's law with respect to PWM vs DC.

BTW, a 1.8 ohm BDC clearo works very well on the istick with my easily burnable liquids. I may have to buy some EVOD glass clearos for extra toppers. BTW, the Genitank is a PERFECT topper for the iStick.

Wanna see a pic?

How are you guys stealth vaping with this? There's a big tank on top of the battery that sticks out when you vape. I've come from an eroll and that's real stealth vaping.

To everyone saying the iStick hits too hard, just give it time. After my 4th charge now, the battery output seems greatly diminished. The time between charges seems to be the same but the powerful hit I came to enjoy during my 1st few days of use is gone. It definetely hits weaker now than it did when I 1st got it. It has me looking to get yet another mod to satisfy me. I use the iStick on a Kayfun Mini, 1.4 ohm build between 12-15 watts. The first couple of charges were fine. It was vaping bliss for me, but IMO the battery performance has degraded substantially since then.

Kryp does it charge unusually fast for you too? I didnt' have mine on the charger maybe an hour and a half, and I vaped it all day (wobbly tank and adjustments and all) but this rocks!

on my second charge now, I'll let y'all know..diminished, isn't so good. I'm not using a rebuildable on mine though and have it turned way down, so it should be negligible.

I hope this isn't true since I've ordered 2 more .Thanks why i hope V2 will have a replaceable internal battery

Yes the battery icon quits flashing and the screen goes blank. We'll I've been rocking mine non stop for three weeks + and haven't noticed any decline in my battery.

so, I know that this is a really silly question, but I have scanned the thread but it is just too big. Does the display stop flashing when the battery is fully charged, or does it do something else? Thanks.

Bringing forward................... the battery has not degraded.

I am certainly no expert and not even a techinical type of person. One thing that I do know as I stated in the long thread is that Lion batteries do level out and most even hold a charge longer once they go through a few charge cycles. I suspect that you and a few others that have mentioned the same are experiencing that which is normal for this type of battery. Hope that helps.

Then I have a defective unit because my iStick does NOT hit as hard as it used to, to me, that is degredation. And yes, it seems to take less time to fully charge, which would indicate the battery is unable to accept as much charge as it did a week ago.

I agree with this based on subjective taste testing (come on Phil, post up the data).

Vrms is calculated to satisfy Ohm's law with respect to PWM vs DC.

Yes please. I like the design and method of airflow on the Emow/Genitank better than the Aerotank but never picked up a Geni because the polished plated finish of the Geni didn't match any of my mods/batts. With the polished plating top/bottom covers of the Istick, the Geni should match perfectly. I'm so vein...

I'm going to bed as well, but for the sake of argument I'll take the position that Vrms might not be appropriate for heat output measurement from a resistive heat element (not a resistive motor) driven by a positive only PWM D.C. voltage. Granted I can't argue that because I'm not an electrial engineer, but rather saying it to see if anyone can show me that it's incorrect in this application.

I'll be calculating my vape by device/carto/settings. :D

Have a good vape before bed.

For many reasons, resistance load technology is mostly based on direct current. RMS is used so AC and PWM DC values can be directly plugged into things like Ohm's Law and Joule's First Law without a boat load of advanced conversion. This is especially important with motors and resistance coils/heat. Without Vrms we'd have to use more complicated formulas to obtain Amps, Watts, etc. This is a KISS principal. All the manufacturers use Vrms values in calculating output, especially since the VMax "scandal" affectionately known as "PWM-Gate". I guess Eleaf didn't get the memo.

This is scarey if accurate. Is the battery failing prematurely? Is the iStick failing to regulate? A combination of both?
