Everybody awake?? Looks like they dropped a Heli-Coil in for the 510 connection??

There's a Difference between a Heli-Coil and a Thread Insert.

A Heli-Coil is used to Repair a Thread that is Damaged. Whereas a Thread Insert is used so a Thread Doesn't get Damaged.

If I have a Soft Metal, like Brass or Aluminum, and need a Thread in it that will get Heavy Use, cutting threads into the Brass or Aluminum is not the Best Approach. Especially when the Depth of Thread is < 2x the Diameter of the Threads. And a Bad Call when the Depth of Thread is <= the Diameter of the Threads. Using a Steel Thread Insert is a Very Viable way to go.

BTW - Can you take a Picture of your Connector. Because none of mine have a Heli-Coil in them. And all of them look like your Run-of-the-Mill Non Adjustable 510 Connectors.

The 510 connector is a M7 x 0.5 thread which HeliCoil doesn't make....:(
Possibly someday......

I Fixed an Automatic eGo years ago by filling the Threads with some Lead Free Solder and then Screwing on a Shorty 510 to 510 Adapter.

I was in true MacGyver mode that day.

I've rebuilt many 510 connectors with O-rings and shrink tubing, so long as the threads were good.
Interesting fix, have to try it next time it's necessary.

I ordered my 2nd IStick from UVape yesterday. No shipping notice yet, but I did go with the preorder one, so who knows? (Getting very frustrated with my month old Vamo 5 that keeps shutting itself off).

I experienced the same thing with my VAMO 3. Have you tried stretching the battery spring a bit? I have to do that every time I swap dual 18350s for an 18650.

If you like the results, the taste, the vape is good for you....none of it is a "bad thing" With a 2200 mah battery the iStick should last most people all day at a minimum, for many far longer.

Don't worry about the wattage's effect on battery run time, if it's running out - recharge it or run it as a pass-through. If necessary buy a second iStick to get them to last all day....if you're using 4400 mah a day, you might want to try putting the darn thing down once in a while....:D

Haha thanks Stosh :D. I have been using it at night as a pass-through, and I did order a second (from vapeoutlet who sent me the first, no issues). I'm sure the two will definitely cover me for at least a day :).

Just want to share another advantage of the iStick...

I like rebuilding my Kanger heads with vertical-hollow core coils (BVCs). They seem to work best for me with 28g KA1 @ around 1.9Ω. The vertical coils don't seem to start to work well until they get 11W. All of my Ego-type devices have a hard time hitting 11W @ 1.9Ω because of their amperage limits. I've had to use my VAMOS or VTR. But on the iStick, they vape really well between a displayed 3.6 & 4.5V. A great stealth vape! :vapor:

I would suggest getting a wrap for your iStick. I've had a silver one for about 3 weeks now, and the finish is pretty scratched up already from carrying it around in my pocket. I've had change and keys in my pocket with it, probably not too smart, but my MVP and Sigelei 30 watt have not had this issue. I have a wrap on the way from jwraps now, but they didn't have them available when I originally ordered mine.

You will be proud of me...

I decided to practice with vv vw on that mini zmax I have and a not so thrilling batch of Joye attys I got a couple of years ago...

Looks like those attys are 3.1 - no wonder they were lacking !

Anyway, I set the zmax at 4V and they are working nicely

Come on iStick !!!

Hey Classy, hope all is well. Question before I dig thru old stuff, do those attys have that nasty primer taste of yore? I'm happy with the Aspire 2.0 (that register 2.1-2.2 on the istick) and think trying those is brilliant, if not for that taste and smell.. For me, even on the Cana before I fried it, higher is happy!.

Anyone try an iclear 30s on top of an istick?

Just ordered my first and I've only been using the 30s lately.

Curious what it may look like.

Thanks

Red...ask and you shall receive....the 30s

Fits about the same as the Naughty Mini---just hangs ever so slightly over the edge.
Weight of it is also about the same--so not top heavy at all.

The coil on the one pictured is bad. I never was a big fan of the "mop head" design in this, which came with my MVP2.
Since I got the Naught and a KFL + I haven't used it.
I'll replace the coil and if I have any issues performance-wise I'll post again.

Like others I can't say anything bad about the istick performs well for me with even my evods and Kanger PT2 Mini.
Enjoy!
