I am getting that the mini ProTanks and Evods and the bajillion 2.2 heads I have...aren't going to be good on this huh ?

Kinda lowish... You'll be right at 8 watts. Kanger recommends 5-7.5 watts for their single coils. I prefer 6.5W or so on my Kangers. But I'm a wimp.

I know this isn't the right thread for a tank review but since I am using it exclusively with my iStick I thought I would report back on my initial impressions of the Beyond Vape Silo Lite and how it works on my iStick.

To begin with I didn't even try the BDC coil provided by Beyond Vape with the Silo Lite. Instead, I installed an Aspire BVC 1.8Ω coil right from the start (NOT ASPIRE NAUTILUS BVC). According to the reviews I read and watched the BDC coils simply do not work well and decided to simply not even try them. I might later for comparison.

If I had to sum up my initial impressions of the Beyond Vape Silo Lite succinctly I would say WOW what a great tank.

Here is what I like about it:
1) Reasonably priced at $15.00 before shipping
2) (2) drip tips, one large bore and one small bore
3) Spring loaded pin (no more worries about damaging iStick firing pin)
4) Provides an airy draw (definitely not like sucking on a straw, tips change draw)
5) Great flavor and vapor production with BVC coil
6) Glass tank
7) 3.5 mil juice capacity (coming from EVOD and Protank Mini 3 this is a significant improvement)
8) Mates with iStick very well
9) Looks great with a lower profile than any of my Kanger tanks including the original EVOD tanks.
10) Did I mention it vapes GREAT?

What would I change?
1) I wish it had adjustable air control beyond just the type of drip tip but the 1.6 mm air holes seems to provide sufficient air. The small bore tip provides a better draw for me since the large bore tip provides a lighter draw than I prefer.
2) Should have come with a BVC coil since the BDC coils are really not up to the task.

What is most impressive to me is the new juice I just recieved from ITCVapes is 50/50. It is the thickest juice I have ever used and the BVC coil kept up with the iStick from 3.0 volts at 4.5 watts to 3.2 volts at 5.5 watts with no problem. I didn't go higher as I didn't see a need. The vapor production and flavor were great in these ranges. I will play more to dial it in, however, no burnt hits and no overly hot vapor, just a great vape experience every time I hit the firing button! :vapor:

Just wanted to throw out a quick update on this tank with the iStick. Please note YMMV.

Here are a couple of pictures on the iStick:

Ordered an istick from ebay a few days ago, I'm so excited can't wait to get it (fingers crossed it'll be here by the end of the week). I've been using an ego twist my entire four month vaping career, and I felt it was time for an upgrade. I wanted something compact that was both vv and vw (curious to see how vw "sizes up" to vv) as well as something with an ohm reader (plan to build my own coils soon, so this is essential). Before I came across this beauty, I was considering either an itaste vv v3 or the mvp. I liked the size of the vv v3, comparable to my ego, but I didn't like 800 mah battery. As for the mvp, I really wasn't sure about the box shape, seemed a little to bulky for my taste.
Everything about the istick seems perfect for me. It has a wider volt and watt range than the itastes, a 2200 mah battery, and a nice compact size. I also like how the screen shows the voltage, watts, ohms, and battery life in one shot, no scrolling necessary. Also, this baby should be able to handle rtas/rdas when and if I wanna get into that. Can't wait!!

lots to catch up on...

so...

I usually run an IGO-s RDA, but I just put on a Kanger Mini Protank 2 sporting a rebuilt, regular (not micro coil), 32 gauge wire coil that comes in at 2.1 Ohm. The MPT2 vapes fine with no burning at all. My THEORY is that it all depends on the wicking. Mine is currently wicking with Japanese pad cotton similar to Koh Gen Do, lightly packed in the coil with a single, 1/2 pad-depth strip of cotton on top as a "flavor" wick (the diameter of this cotton seems to contract after it is wet). It does seem to vape a bit cooler on a standard 650 mAh standard eVod battery that is supposed to be "regulated" at 3.7v. The juice currently in my tank is "A Quiet Morning" from Alice in Vapeland - which I'm guessing is a higher PG fluid.

Then again, maybe I just can't taste the burning. I can say for certain that I've had no dry hits. A bit of gurgling toward the very end of a tank, but that is not unusual and not dependent on the battery.

I think I have a few unused, stock 2.2 and 2.5 ohm coils in my stash box. If I do, I'll give one of them a shot - 2.2 Ohm if I have one - perhaps this evening. Given other peoples' reported experiences, I'm GUESSING that I might have to take out the flavor wicks and replace them with a small amount of cotton to make it wick well enough. I'm guessing that just removing the silica flavor wicks will result in some flooding with my relatively thin juice.

Has anyone tried to put an o-ring or something to hold the center post up a bit?

Several of my Protanks do not make contact, and it's a pain to constantly fiddle with the pin on the Protank.

What I've done on one of my mods is put a tiny earth magnet inside a drip tip oring and set that in the mod's connector well. oring and magnet must be snug so the magnet doesn't move and touch the connector threads and short.

I just got my shipping notice for my 2nd IStick tonight from UVape. Vape NW sent me a confirmation on shipping too for the same IStick. iI did the preorder last Thursday for a red one. Yeah! Now I will have two ISticks to take on vacation next week. The egos will have to stay home. The MVPs will probably get to go on vacation too just in case I need them!

Thanks for the review.......will keep it in mind the next time I buy a topper. Like the 3.5 ml capacity for its size. By the way, can U use ASPIRE NAUTILUS BVC's in it. I have some already?

Beyond Vape states that you cannot use the Aspire Nautilus BVC coils. You have to use the Aspire BVC Coils. They are different.

Idk....for a little more than $10 I'd opt for the VS rdna with a user serviceable battery. Does look nice though. I'll use my 2 iSticks until they croak and maybe by then someone will have created the perfect APV with a nuclear cell that will out live us all [emoji4]

Questions. 1) is the battery already pre installed?. If not , which one should i buy for it. 2) what color should i choose to pair with my nautilus mini? Thx

Battery is preinstalled. Sealed in, so no changing of batteries. I think any color would be fine with the Nauti.

So I finally took the plunge and got myself one. The reviews are spot on. I am a simple-to-please vaper and this 2-day beauty keeps me happy. In fact, I haven't touched my VV or MVP since I got it. A full two days of vaping, full puffs until the end, all in the size of a bic lighter (which I no longer carry)....what more is there to ask!! Thanks for all the great reviews that pushed me into taking the plunge and adding this device to my collection!!
Hoping to be in your boat tomorrow. Was going to get the MVP, but the iStick is cheaper and seems to have the same features in a smaller package.
