when i plug it in, the battery shows up full, but not the lightning bolt indicating charging....when unplugged the battery appears empty and then disapears...then it locks if i try to fire it

Have you tried a different charger AND cable?
Have you tried turning it off, 5 clicks, with it plugged in, to switch to the big charging indicator?
It's just weird that you are the only one with this problem, and on 2 of them. That makes be wonder about your cable or charger.

I do as well. It is probably important to state what your vg/pg ratio is, since that can effect wicking considerably.

I vape 50/50 almost excusively, and my single coil Kangers taste burnt at around 4.2 RMS (not the eleaf type) volts. If YOU don't get a burnt vape on Kanger single coils, chime in with your vg/pg ratio. I'm guessing those that don't get a burnt taste use higher PG levels than those that do get the burnt taste.

Of course, I could be wrong, so post up your ratios please...

I rebuild my kanger heads to a vertical micro coil wicked with Japanese cotton. I use a 50/50 juice and have no problems with dry hits. Running at about 13 watts on my istick.

There you have two differences. Cotton wick, and vertical coil.

My ADV is 50/50 at 8.0 eleaf watts using a 1.8 ohm Kanger Genitank BDC. Vapes fine.

That's why I tried to be a specific as possible.

I was using 100% PG when I got my istick. I ordered some WTA (100%VG) cut with PG and have been using that and getting some dry/burnt hits. I went back to all PG today and haven't had a problem.

I build my coils at 1.7 using 30 guage kanthal with rayon cellucotton . Run stick at 3 volts. Use 70 / 30 Vg to pg. No burnt taste.

Like I said elsewhere, I'd like to see a side by side like the gizmo with a DNA-40 - I might sell all my hardware, if that happened MVP isn't 'smallish' Perhaps if they 'fixed' the VTR. and took some weight off it.

We haven't seen the MVP3 with DNA chipset yet so we don't know its size, but I fully expect it to be smaller than the current non-DNA MVP2. The Vapor Shark DNA is small--the rDNA is just a little larger, but still small--IMO. The new Opus looks small too. VTR is too heavy--but who knows, maybe they'll offer an rDNA sometime in the future.

Anyway, they are all smaller and lighter and feel more comfortable in my hand than big tube mods.

I can't tolerate high PG, so I vape 50/50 exclusively, and have been using the Kanger T3s at the lowest possible setting on the istick. I have been getting not only burnt hits, but such hot hits that I feared I was damaging my lungs with this more than I did with stinkies.

BUT, switching to the mini nautilus has made ALL the difference. Smoooooooooth vapes and abundant flavor. I gotta get me more of these for my isticks! Are there other tanks that people are having good luck with on the istick? Or, should I just get more nauti-minis?

Hey, I'm having the same problem! I'm not a newbie, but *I* don't understand why my Evods and T3s taste SUPER burnt on the istick!!! I guess I'll pull out my mini nautilus and see if I can taste a difference. But, please explain why I can't use T3s on my istick??? I'm serious here, and any help appreciated because I'm getting pretty darn frustrated with the istick.

OK, I just filled my nautilus mini, popped it on the istick, and....

O...M...G!!! The difference is amazing! No burn at all.

Now, can someone tell me WHY there is such a difference in t3s and the Nautilus?

To the best of my knowledge (which is limited, I gladly admit):

Single coils (like your T3) are more vulnerable because the entire wattage generated by the iStick gets thrown at one coil--not two. Kanger coils are not designed to handle more 8-9 watts--they can't wick fast enough to keep the coil cool. Some people are able to use higher-ohm single coils on their iSticks, others get dry hits. Don't ask me why.

Aspire BVC (bottom vertical coil) atties are different both in design (single vertical coil) and materials used (fiberglass filler/wick). The combination of those two factors creates an atty that apparently wicks better (faster) and can withstand higher temperatures.

Most dual-coil atties do well on the iStick because the wattage is always split between two coils so they don't get as hot as singles. A 1.5Ω DC is really two 3Ω coils, perfectly safe resistance for iStick on its lowest setting--whatever that may be. I run all my dual coils (on other, correctly calibrated mods) at 4 volts minimum. So you're good there.

I really like my dual coil Kanger tanks--Aerotank and Emow mega--1.8Ω. They come with airflow control valves (which makes all the difference in the world as far as vape quality) and they mount flush on the Stick.

I can use my aerotank, genitank & even my pt3 mini with 60/40 or 50/50 pg/VG with no problems.

I can't use my mini pt2, mts3 or t3s with any juice without it burning at the lowest wattage or voltage (even using 2.5 ohm coils).

That said, I just bought a 3rd istick because I like it so much.

My Istick and Nautilus Mini came in the mail today and I am very happy with it so far. I've got the Istick set at 8 watts vaping Space Jam Pluto. It tastes so much better in the nauty than in my Protank 2 with aero base. Not a single burnt hit so far.

So I just ordered red istick for the wife and I'm a little worried because she is rough on her equipment. She killed a vamo by screwing down the tank with gorilla like force so many times that it killed the 510 connection. The she killed a cana mod by first breaking the USB charging port then (even though I told her not touch the battery, let me do it) fried it by installing the battery backwards. Now I bought her an istick as it was only $30 and has some good reviews besides the noted issues. My question is to protect the 510 connection should I keep the ego adapter on at all times? Will that even help to protect the 510 connector? FYI she uses a nautilus mini normally at 13 watts so it sounds like the istick should be good for her.

I got mine last weds, sending it back tomorrow because the button started to stick the second day. It's getting worse so off it his before it completely breaks. But quick question. How long do you guys think this battery should last if I vape 6 Mls out of my nautilus mini? It's only lasting me until 6/7pm? Def think I would have gotten at least a full day then charge at night....

My DIY is 80pg/20vg and I can't set the Istick low enough when I'm using Kanger 2.2 ohm single coils in my Davides or mini protank 2. The Nautilus 1.8 ohm is mostly okay at 6.5 eleaf watts, with just an occasional ghastly hit.
