I exercise care with all threaded connections, vape related or otherwise despite the quality of the materials. As I stated earlier in this thread you will always have the less mechanically inclined population that meet resistance with more force and think tighter is always better while applying the gorilla grip to everything. My 2 iSticks have displayed no threading issues and I don't use any adapters. They travel to work everyday as they are my go to stealth devices. I daily use them while driving because of the form factor and quality of the vape when paired with the right topper.

I have never had threading issues with any vape device despite owning more than one with less than a stellar 510 thread. Just as we'll never rid ourselves of those that should not have a driver's license we'll never be rid of the less mechanically inclined that will fail to grasp that the bulk of their problems lie with the operator and not the device.

I agree 100%. I have years of experience as a motorcycle mechanic, industrial maintenance, fabrication, and machine shop and have seen many many mysteries. :)

Penn's woods
stuff like that usually doesn't happen on dv's website - that's what surprised me ;)

i got a black one coming for the cute factor alone! :D
I emailed Eric and asked him to look at it. ;)

ETA= As usual, he got back to me within 10 minutes and said (as I assumed), he was in a hurry and excited and made a mistake. He's going in to fix it. :)

Watts and Volts are Bound in a Eternal Dance. As long as there is Resistance.

The user of an iStick Mini can Only adjust the Voltage.

Voltage is the force of the electricity and Watts is the measurement of how much electricity is used. Amps is the volume of electricity flowing through a conducter like the wiring and coil in your device. If you increase your watts then you cause more electricity or more amps to flow. If you increase your voltage then more amps will flow and more watts will be used. K? :)

dropping this here in case it comes in handy for some unlucky soul ;) catt's problem is not user error, i'll vouch for it! :D we are dealing with chinese qc!

Oh yeah, the trouble I was having with my iStick (if anyone remembers that I was having trouble with my iStick) was a broken/ripped positive pin insulator in the 510 connection. For some reason, when the 510 connection would short out due to the insulator, the wattage setting would jump around.

Fix:
Cut a thin piece of cardboard, cut a hole in it to fit a male 510 connector through
Placed cardboard over iStick's 510 connection
Attached the iStick 510-eGo adapter with the cardboard between the iStick and the adapter
Put an eGo cone on the adapter
Added the cRussian

The cardboard allows the adapter to be tightly screwed onto the iStick without deforming the broken/ripped insulator, but contact is still made by the positive pins.

Boy, I got a simple 510-510 adapter to replace the Eleaf-supplied ego one. What a major difference!

I'm getting almost too much airflow now. And that's from a week old Boge Carto. About half the height also. Post is very high also.

Edit- OK, now I put on an airflow adapter w/o the top part. I now have about as much airflow, plus ego threading ( that's what threading they use for the top part of the airflow adapter ), plus a large drip well, @ the same low height as the 510-510. And it looks better and offers more support.

Ok, Mrs. Dr. got her iStick today. She loves it. I'm very impressed. If the iStick is today's eGo, we've made some strides because this little device vapes like a champ.

I guess we've been vaping in the Stone Age, using the same mods and attys we've been vaping on since 2010. Looking forward to getting my new IPV Mini in the mail this week and getting acquainted with RDAs and RTAs. I have some catching up to do.

Almost the same here. I stayed on a 3.7 regulated ego since I joined here. This thing is a nice move up.
