dropping this here in case it comes in handy for some unlucky soul ;) catt's problem is not user error, i'll vouch for it! :D we are dealing with chinese qc!

Oh yeah, the trouble I was having with my iStick (if anyone remembers that I was having trouble with my iStick) was a broken/ripped positive pin insulator in the 510 connection. For some reason, when the 510 connection would short out due to the insulator, the wattage setting would jump around.

Fix:
Cut a thin piece of cardboard, cut a hole in it to fit a male 510 connector through
Placed cardboard over iStick's 510 connection
Attached the iStick 510-eGo adapter with the cardboard between the iStick and the adapter
Put an eGo cone on the adapter
Added the cRussian

The cardboard allows the adapter to be tightly screwed onto the iStick without deforming the broken/ripped insulator, but contact is still made by the positive pins.

Actually, the positive pin insulator problem occurred after dropping the iStick/cRussian combo on a tile floor - a not uncommon occurrence for moi :D

btw - after 2 months of daily use, black iStick has no scratches, dents or dings. This is an unusual occurrence for moi.

Thanks for the reply. I really want to try a Kayfun-like RTA to see what the fuss is about. I still change out flavors regularly and I don't want to have to buy coil heads all the time.

I bought a Ehpro KFL a couple weeks ago for a mech. mod., and really like it.

Another YouTube video is out by Tony from the Vapor Trail Channel.

I have to say the new iStick looks awesome. I'll be grabbing the upcoming 50W version when it comes out as my very first APV mod.

They made some pretty drastic changes to the 50w its double the size of the 20 and 30w versions. I definately like the improvements to the 30.

Agreed, don't see any reason to get the 50W unless you have to vape between 30W - 50W, which I would think would be a rare occurrence.

katdarling, here's a soon to be released one for your list:

ESP 30 Watt from Aspire -- Dimitris posted a first look on his Facebook page. Not out yet. Aspire seems to really, really like carbon fiber wraps, though :)

Thanks, hon. Adding it!

Wow. Nice list. I think I will have 1 of each. Lol Thanks for putting that together. I am sure it will be growing soon. Actually if it is a list for itty bitty mods then you would have to add the new Joyetech eGo ONE. That is currently my favorite stealthvape.

Great job on your vids, Vap0rnormics. And thank you for this addition, too!

Which do you people think is a better RTA for an Eleaf 30w - Lemo Drop or Erlk Nano?

I love my full-sized Erlk. Waiting on a Nano from FT, which is a bit larger in diameter (22mm) then the original Erlk. I love the Lemo. It's just really big. Even on my Hana clone it feels big. The Erlkonigins are brilliant on the iStick. I vape max VG liquid. Both handle it very well.

The Erlkonigin Nano is cheaper, slimmer, shorter and has a larger capacity then the Lemo Drop: <$14, shipped vs <$40; 22mm vs 23mm; 56mm vs 74mm; 3+ml vs 2.7ml. The Erlkonigin is top-fill. You must disassemble the Lemo's bottom cap to fill it.

If you get the Erlk Nano clone and it's not airy enough for you, it is very easy to open up with a round needle file. My 1:1 Erlk clone is now as airy or airier than the Lemo. You must take the bottom of the Lemo apart to adjust the airflow. Once mastered, I find the Erlk easier to build. My current Erlk coil has >100ml through it, having been wicked twice, and is still going strong.

You can separate the Erlk's base from the tank without draining (videos online). If you like a glass sleeve for the tank, hit up IBTanked for $5 or so.

Can you tell I love my 1:1 Erlkonigin clone and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Nano from China?

They made some pretty drastic changes to the 50w its double the size of the 20 and 30w versions. I definately like the improvements to the 30.

While the 50W iStick is larger than the 30watter (23.0mm x 45.0 mm x 83.0mm vs 23.0mm x 32.5mm x 77.0mm), it is not obnoxiously so. The 50watter is smaller than some "minis" that have hit the market; ie. IPV Mini ( 94mm x 40mm x 23mm). A far majority if the 50watter's size is the 4400mAh battery. I would not be surprised if the new MVP3 will measure in at similar dimensions.

If one is vaping a new tank with sub-ohm coils, the extra power will most likely be used. Vaping between 25 & 35W, the 4400mAh battery will be very welcome. It is currently the smallest 50W APV on the market. Do not underestimate the value of the 4400mAh LiPo. Those who vape at 25W+ and don't want to deal with 18650s and chargers will LOVE it.

I will probably not be jumping on the current sub-ohm tank craze (probably). 10 - 30W currently covers all of my atomizers (clearos, RTAs & RDAs) beautifully.

We simply need to know what and how we vape and purchase the appropriate hardware to support it.

ATM im still undecided between a iStick 50watt and the SMOK Xpro M50. Ive got the 18650 batteries so that is no longer a deciding factor. Both are spring loaded 510.

I guess i can wait till reviews start flowing.
I have an m50 now. Giving it to my friend and ordered an istick 30watt. Why? No pass through vaping and the button sucks. Every now and then when I fire the button...if I'm not pressing down firmly enough it doesn't fire...but if I make a conscious effort to press it firmly it will always fire..but this is a minor annoyance that I don't want to deal with. Other than that..the quality of the body is solid and it vapes great.

I wouldn't say it's double the size. 50w- 23x45x83 versus 20w- 21x32.8x75. That would make the 50 less than 1/8" thicker, less than 1/2" wider, and about 5/16" taller. The pictures make it look a lot bigger but just a half inch wider ain't nothing much to me considerin you'll have double the battery life plus the option to blow clouds at 50 watts when you want to. The 30 is 2 mm taller than the 20 and the top is the same width as the thickness of the 50. So I think, just addin a half inch to the width and a mere 2mm to the thickness, it will make it fit my hand better. :)

It's 166% larger. Yes, more like 1 3/4 the size, but close enough to double.

Reeaally? :)

a beg.jpg

Closer to 1 5/8 the size so maybe 50% bigger in volume but still only 1/2" wider
