Which Vrms would be the correct voltage to display?

Assuming it's just turning voltage on and off, a square wave. I don't have a scope to verify that.

The ECD meter I'm using shows that Vave is accurate to within a few hundredths of a volt across the board from 3.0V to 5.4V, so I assume it's regulating that way. The frequency is around 49Hz (compared to the 33.3Hz found on many other PWM devices). I don't have a way to show peak voltages.

I did message both Dimitris and Phil about this, and hopefully someone with a real scope will chime in.

I think Someone should Take One for the Team and send their istick to Phill for a Full Review.

Maybe that would Eliminate all the Guessing that is going on.

:)

I'd be surprised if Phil doesn't already have one in his stash - I've heard him mention the order of his reviews are based on the number of requests since he can't get to all the equipment he has for reviews = everyone should write in an ask him to do a review on this AMAZING FANTASTICAL little device that is selling out everywhere .... (you know the drill).

Truer words were never spoken!!

If my memory serves I believe the eGo showed as a sawtooth on a scope, if they copied that it would be a winner. (no guarantee on the memory, it was years ago) The original eGo was and still is a workhorse.

I think you are going to be Fine.

And the Size of this MOD is going to Blow You Away.

I'm pretty excited!! I do like the performance of the Hana clone, but it's just a bit to big for my liking. Was thinking about the rDNA 30 but $190?!? And let's be honest, with technology as it is, the evolve chip is already old news.

I'm a simple guy.
I clean kennels and take care of dogs at an animal shelter for a livelihood.
I have little patience for things that don't work like they should. I threw a smok ace in the trash on a road trip recently.
Fortunately I never needed to be an Oncologist when I smoked cancer sticks, and I don't want to be an electrical engineer now that I vape.
I just want stuff that works so I can get on with life.
I am so content with my Istick, I ordered another one for backup.
That's about as high a recommendation I can give ANYTHING.

The root mean square (abbreviated RMS or rms), also known as the quadratic mean, is a statistical measure of the magnitude of a varying quantity

Vrms for a sine wave will be different from
Vrms for a square wave will be different from
Vrms for a trapazoid wave will be different from
Vrms for a triangle wave will be different from
Vrms for a sawtooth wave will be different from

Any of these if the waveforms are smoothed and filtered with circuitry after the regulator chip produces them.

Which Vrms would be the correct voltage to display?

MasteringElectronicsDesign.com : How to Derive the RMS Value of Pulse and Square Waveforms

How do we know the chip smooths or filters at all?

I don't know...

Vaping Greek did a review of this already. I would think pbusardo's review might be some time away as he seems to be a little behind on videos now. Unless he really likes it, then he'll do it quicker.
While I do like and trust vapin Greeks reviews, he tested it with the bvc coils which like higher wattages anyways so he wouldn't have noticed an issue with bucking. Only Phil has the equipment and expertise nessesary for a detailed analysis of its output.

I dunno about that.

There are Members on this Forum who have the Expertise and Equipment to test Voltage Outputs from a APV.

To Them, It Aint Rocket Science.

Day 4 with my iStick, and it's still a great little vape!.....(IMO:)). I've been using a Kanger AeroMega with a 2.1ohm coil (although the meter on the iStick is reading 2.2) @ 12 watts, and it's working VERY WELL! When it's charging, then I go and use my ProVari mini. I haven't found ANYTHING else that I've WANTED to use since getting my ProVari back in Jan 2013.....The iStick has changed my mind about that. Although I LOVE my ProVari ($190.00 and worth it), I'm REALLY liking this iStick! ($34.35 and worth MORE!:D). Vaping on..........:vapor:.

i am taken aback that something this little can hold power for so long.
the battery on this lasts me all day, from wake up to sleep. 1.5ohms@11w and i vape almost 6ml/day.
istick a fork into my mech mods:D

Right outta the box (and what looked to me like FULLY charged) vaped my iStick on day 1, from 1:00pm Saturday til' 3:30am Sunday morning. Woke up @ 7:30am on Sunday, and kept vaping it til' about 10:45am. (11.5 watts on a 2.1 ohm coil).....Color me IMPRESSED!:)
