True, but almost double the price we are paying now? Ouch, not sure if I would like this thing so much at that price.

May not like the price but it is supply and demand. The demand is high and the supply is low then those that have them can charge a premium and make a packet.

Those that must have will pay the premium

VapeNW has them on ebay for 34.95 for the whole kit, free shipping, I got mine in 2 business days.

My local B&M just got them in stock in their store for 59.99...that is completely ridiculous if you ask me and I don't know how they came to that price or how they plan on selling any.

How do you think shops get away with selling starter kits with a generic ego battery, a ce4, and a charger for 40 bucks? Prob cost them less than 10 for everything. Then you gotta buy the juice on top of it.

I bought directly from VapeNW and it does say on the product page that it does not include a cable. So on their site they are upfront that you don't get a cable. But i have about 100 of those any way so it didn't matter to me. On that note, I heard in the UK that they are banning or were going to ban cables being included with new cell phone purchases since so many are winding up at the landfill.

I put my Magma on it and though it did look silly it was a great vape :D

Are there any plans for a revision? Cause I remember seeing eleaf posting on reddit for feedback on improvements. My only gripes right now are the fixed pin, overpowering and the low max voltage.

I'm pretty sure that there will be a Version 2 of the iStick, but not before every single iStick V1 has been sold. ;)

It has arrived :D I dont know if I will be able to take my Russian 91% apart fast enough :p

As I am aiming to hit near 20 watts, what suggestions do you guys/gals have for coils? I know that with Rayon my MVP is best at 30 guage (kanthal) 6-7 wraps (16 gauge luer blunt needle) 1.5 ohm @ 10.5 watts. I would think by taking an educated guess that these two setups would produce the best vape for my istick/russian:

1) buy 28 guage wire, and wire it up for 1.5 ohms. I havent tried 28 guage yet, but this should yield about 11/12 wraps or so? Ive thought about 26, but I think by the time Id hit 1.5 ohms Id have too much thermal mass to get a quick heat up...

2) Make a dual coil build with 32 gauge wire where each coil is 3.0 ohms (so combined coil load would be 1.5ohms parallel). Ive thought about attempting this with 30 gauge, but again I think id wind up with too much thermal mass to get a quick heat up time...

Any other suggestions? It definitely seems the eleaf istick is best served by devices where you can rebuild the coils yourself, especially if aiming for the upper reaches of its wattage range.

Looking forward to messing with this :D

I have a 28g @ 1.7 ohms on my KFL+ and it's great on the Istick. I only vape at about 6-7w. I've tried at 17.7w (max) and it was a bit warm but still good.

Alright...I'm a bit new to the VV/VW scene, though I understand Ohm's law and all that well enough, but still have some questions regarding this device...

I've been reading what a great combo the eleaf istick is with the Nautilus mini, but based on what I've been reading, it seems like the device is over-powered for the 1.8 Ohms of the mini(?).

When I compare this chart, for example, to most of the Ohms/Voltage vaping charts that are out there, it would seem like 10W is way too much for a 1.8 Ohm coil...or am I missing something or interpreting it wrong?

For those using this type of setup, what is the preferred wattage (or volts) to run the iStick? I've been thinking about pulling the trigger, but the more I read this thread, the more confused I get!

I'm using the lowest power setting for my Nauty mini, and it's working great!

best regards, larry mac

Willow eyes made some great suggestions for the Aspire's. There are also the Aspire Vivi Nova and Mini Vivi Nova tanks which are not glass and will take the BVCs. I have them both and like them very much!

Aspire Nova & Davide - Aspire - Clearomizers Tanks

They don't have air flow, but I have been REALLY liking the Air Flow Controllers for the 'Stick. They also add the benefit of dread thread protection, with far less gawky height than the Eleaf adapter or normal 510 adapters.

(pic shows a Naughty Mini, but it looks great with any tank)

The new Atlantis..... an Aspire tank for the low ohmers. From the little I've seen, they are weighing in at $40ish and the pack of replacement coils is $20. Also, they do NOT use the Aspire BVCs, so then there's that.

So, I'm trying to figure if they just goofed by calling it an Aspire Davide, or does Anyvape=Aspire?

Kat,

I use the Davides, and like them because they can take either the BVCs or kanger coils. I put aerotank afc on the bottom and they work like champs. I use the aero base, the "extra" ring, and the bvc coils. One of my favorite devices.

That's very interesting. I use Davides and didn't know that they could take the BVCs. One of mine is too old to have come with the extra ring for dual coils, but I should still have them for the others since I never throw away parts to anything. Since I don't like dual coils I took the extra rings off right away. Just what I need is another size/type of coil around.

Laughing a little at the o-ring posts. I have what seems like the worlds largest collection of o-rings (three assortments) due to my unsuccessful attempts to find a match for the little ones on the Davide's center posts. For now, I just keep buying more Davides.:D

28 ga kanthal wrapped 8 times around a 5/64 (2mm) drill bit should give you a 1.1-1.2 ohm micro coil. This is what I am running in my Kayfun Mini right now and it will give you the iSticks full 20 watts. Personally I am at 17 watts right now using rayon and the vape is stellar.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the closest hobbytown USA from me is like an hour drive away. They do have flat rate $4.99 shipping, but I still would have no idea what size to get. I only got the Danco #60 because the person who made the video said so. I've been satisfied with the fix on the iStick more than the MVP.

The MVP didn't sit exactly flush. The iStick is close enough, and I didn't take out the old o-ring either. I'm just happy at this point that I can grab any tank from my drawer, put it on the iStick, and it will always fire.

This is for my own records. It looks like the Danco ring is 6.35mm wide (outer) x 1.58mm thick. So you would have to get something thinner than 1.58mm to help make it flush. The hobbyworks web site doesn't have a lot of details on the dimensions of a lot of the o-rings. I'll just keep this in mind in the future. Like I said, my iStick works fine right now, and this should take care of me at least until the iStick 2 comes out sometime.

While I was looking, I found something that may work. It was on the hobbyworks web site, and they sell the same one on amazon for $4.48 as an add-on item, or $4.48 on ebay. It's 5mm (inner) x 1mm (thick). The outer diameter is 6.5mm.

The model is Axial AXA1162. Still might not be thin enough, but it's another option I guess. I'm not sure if I would waste my time redoing it with this one. I wouldn't want to end up breaking my iStick trying to take that other one off. Not sure how much 0.6mm in thickness would matter.

Amazon.com: Axial AXA1162 O-Ring (10-Piece), 5x1mm: Toys & Games

New Axial O Ring 5x1mm 10 AXA1162 | eBay

I'm ordering these tomorrow.. Well, my sister is because her work already has an account with them. I measured the o-rings I took out of the twist and that's what I came up with. The one I replaced (with a used one) is working fine. Going with silicone because I think they will be easier to stretch around the pin without ripping out the wire.

I'm pretty sure that's an "accidental" error, amoret. Lumping the Anyvape Davide (and it does say "Anyvape" on the package) in with the Aspires was perhaps because the Davides can take the Aspire coils. Creative advertising, perhaps? ;) Or, I could be wrong and maybe Anyvape has now joined forces with Aspire? Dunno.

Speaking for myself only, the iStick is unusable with less then 2.8 ohm coils. Very hot and nasty vapor with the Aspire Nautilus Mini and BVC at 1.8 ohms. Many like them and I'm at a total loss to explain why. Maybe my iStick is especially bad, maybe my taste is in my feet, I know mine sits unused! I really wanted it to work, the form factor is decent.
