Once the plaque has built up on the brain it's too late for anything. My dear departed Dad had Alzheimers, but showed significant memory improvement when allowed to smoke.

The latest research I have found does link the cause to aluminium.(soda cans, beer cans, the heating coil in coffee makers, the aluminum liner coating in canned goods etc....)

You didn't mention most people's largest (perhaps) exposure to aluminum in their daily lives...antiperspirants!

(Deodorants do not contain aluminum.)

I am still enjoying using the AFCs which add less height, and give that flush look.

Thinkin' you have a (recent) penchant for Nauty's (and Mini's)...do you happen to have a link handy where I can get one of them-thar AFC's for my iSticks/Nauty's?

Is it just me, or has the ego/510 adapter messed up the threading of my tanks a little bit? I notice a little bit of wobble with my tanks now that I didn't get before. It wobbles the same on my other batteries as well, and I tried a different ego/510 adapter to the same results.

I don't use an adaptor, and my threads are getting a little wonky. Still working, and I'm trying to baby them, but my tanks don't go on as smoothly as they did.

I fixed my 510 connectors tonight with the 1x2mm o-ring. I left the old one on. There's less than a 1mm gap between the tank and the iStick. I had 2 of them done in about 15 minutes. Used a small flat head screwdriver to pry up the center pin, and some jewelry pliers and the same screwdriver to get the o-ring on. Now if those threads will just hold up...

Once the plaque has built up on the brain it's too late for anything. My dear departed Dad had Alzheimers, but showed significant memory improvement when allowed to smoke. My mother noticed this effect on him and she asked his doctor if it would be OK to let him smoke, His reply was that he had heard this before from his other patients and saw no reason for him not to at this stage in his life. As far as preventing Alzheimers, no it doesn't. The latest research I have found does link the cause to aluminium.(soda cans, beer cans, the heating coil in coffee makers, the aluminum liner coating in canned goods etc....)But, it's not 100% conclusive.

There is also some interesting research going on with medium chain triglycerides, which are found in coconut oil, helping to slow the progression. Dr Mary Newport is a good starting point if you are interested.

Yes, I've read some of her research. I think she tested it on her husband with some positive results.

Having seen several pics of the 510 connection, am I correct that some have the silicone caulking, and some don't? If do all have the silicone insulator, and some have the caulking (glue) in addition to the insulator, or in place of the insulator?

Thinking maybe Eleaf started adding that additional material in an attempt to alleviate the pushed in pin problem some are having.

So far, no issues here after about a month of daily use.

My blue iStick is home! Slapped an adapter on it and am vaping happily again. Its rough just having the one. Think I bought a bad battery for my Vmax. A purple efest 18650 and I'm getting about 5 hours on it at 15 watts. And the Vmax is huge so its not leaving the house.

Thanks KTMRider. You are a God!

Somewhere out there
I got my Erlkonigin clone today to replace a Kayfun on one istick. It's lighter and a bit slimmer so it matches the width of the istick better. .

Also top fill, which I'm hoping will save wear and teat on the 510, compared to screwing the kayfun on and off every day to bottom fill. Although I'm not having any trouble with the 510 on any of my 3 sticks yet, knock on wood. I enjoy the istick so much, I want it to last.

Did her husband know about the tests?

I've been using mine for about 5 weeks and I do need to lift the pin when I swap tanks. I really need to figure out how to add a VT 510 connector on it.

It wasn't supposed to be delivered until tomorrow! :p

Good to hear you're happy with it

OK, so I haven't read thru this whole thread, and this may have been answered already, please forgive me if it has. Is it really neccessary to get a 510/ego adapter? I'm going to most likely be switching between a mini nautilus and some type of dripper, probably a smok caterpillar, and I deffinitely don't want to mess up the threads or the center pin. Thanks!

I would recommend using the adapter and leaving it on. Lots of folks have had thread and pin problems. In case you need one you can get the one that is made for the istick here.....

iStick is 510 (not eGo) threaded, so you'll need a 510>eGo adapter if you want to use an eGo-threaded topper. You don't need an adapter for 510 threaded heads.

I have a question. I just got an eleaf yesterday & today I showed it to a LONG time smoker friend of mine & she loves how it looks. Happy to help get her off cigs, I am selling her mine @ a good price. I'll include a mini nautilus, but I also have some extra protank 3 minis & would like to give her a few. I am trying a mini with the adapter, seems to be working fine. But I would hate for her to have problems with it, being 100% new to vaping.

Has anyone here used mini protanks with the eleaf for a while? I've read about the down regulation problem, is she going to be going through coils quickly? Just don't want any technical difficulties to stand in the way of her quit. Thanks in advance.

Ok, my wife uses mine, and my friend also has one. I personally prefer my MVP. All three of us use Kanger protank 3's with coils that I rebuild. We all vape similar juices that I DYI. I will go through approximately 15 mil before my rayon starts to cloud and another 10ish before the taste kicks in. My friend will go through about 8-10 mil before it gets unusable. I checked his settings and he is vaping on 12 watts (5.1 volts) with a 2.2 coil which is nearly what I use myself.
Is it possible that the stick is providing more power than the setting suggests? I plugged it into my mvp and it metered out the same but they both seem to be going through coils faster than I am.
Suggestions?
