Historically, regulated mods have had issues upon first release. However, the industry has matured far enough that basics such as reasonable 510 connectors and RMS tuning should be a given. I still think Eleaf had no idea what they were doing or we wouldn't be discussing soft threads, bending adapters and burnt hits. Has no one at Eleaf heard of beta testing?
I think you'll be quite happy with your decision. After I got my (first) iStick I put my MVP2's in my back-up drawer...they now feel like bricks.
An alternate for "the flip" connector to protect the threads would be a "generic" AFC. It's smaller/more compact and most e-cig sites carry them.

They have--they are using us as their beta testers. Much more cost-effective, if you ask me. And we're willing participants...
I get it, but that's a rather cumbersome rig, wouldn't you say? Using an eGo adapter for a 510 threaded atty on a mod with a 510 native connection?

Just letting everyone know, If you don't like the MVP because of it's size/weight, then you probably won't like the iPV Mini. It is roughly the same size as an MVP2 and a tiny bit heavier. (in case anyone was thinking of purchasing one)

I have only had mine a few days and had one Nautilus that did not want to screw in to the connector. It will raise the tank a little but it was no big deal. I have noted that the tanks sit leaning to one side just slightly. I did however manage to get the Nautilus to screw on just had to be very slow with it and it works fine now but I still watch it when I go on with it.
The Bending Adapter has a problem of it's own! After only a few weeks of use the lasp or locking hook with a small flat surface that grabs the edge once slipped through the arc shaped opening won't retain the tension to spring out and simply slops around loose! Eleaf made the contact spring too strong causing that to push up on the top half of the bracket which keeps one side elevated as you are trying to push the other part out. Attempts to wedge something in there to put tension on the lasp itself has been futile! I can't recommend getting those since they can fail too easily in normal usage.
I ordered a few AFCs for the Smok T-Dux 4.0 tanks I have here after getting the Nautilus tanks lately from the Black Friday sales and they weren't good for anything to put it simply. I was forced to see those removed in order to run the tanks without.
That is the actual best advice heard so far! Even when not having those on I still find no problems at all with the 510 threading suggesting some are being a bit heavy handed when going to put tanks on as well as taking them off. You simply take your time and don't try forcing them to thread on and you'll get much further.
I keep the adapter on still since every so often I might swap the Nautilus Mini off of one for seeing an eGo threaded Tumbler go on. So far however the Nautilus coils have shown themselves to be the best even when changing flavors without the need to rinse the tank out with hot water since after the first few puffs the next flavor stands out. They haven't been gumming up either.

I sure like the form factor and button placement on the Mini VS MVP
So far yours is the only bending adapter that has been reported to have a problem--it would be good for some others to chime in as to how theirs are faring. I got mine to protect the threads and for the floating pin-- don't really care about the bending function. I was using the 510-ego adapter with a beauty ring and it was ok but not near as good as the bendable adapter.

All too true... The funny thing is, if Eleaf were an American company, they might be faced with a class-action lawsuit. Being a Chinese company, they are shielded from the American tort courts... Unless Eleaf USA is an incorporated US company...

I ordered one after several reviews knowing full well it's about the same height as the MVP, and slightly heavier (brick-like compared to the iStick), but I ordered one anyway. It is a bit slimmer, button placement is like the iStick's and there is no turkey necking with an attached atomizer and this will run slightly sub-ohm, which I need for the 2 Orchid V4 tanks I have.
I do really love the form factor of the iStick and will continue to use the 2 that I have on a daily basis, but this IPV mini is a nice compromise. If the reviews of the forthcoming Cloupor, Kamry and Sigelei are favorable and the price is reasonable, I might look at one of those for a birthday present next year. But by then (March), we should have seen the iStick 2 and MVP3 as well.
