Hi 'Stickers, and Happy Xmas to you all.

I received a rather UNwanted gift this year.... my silver 'Stick will not charge, at all. It's dead in the water. I cannot recall if there was discussion about this, but if you have any tips, please let me know before it is filed safely under "G", for garbage.

Poor thing...... 67 days he lasted...

Also, who has the best deals on them these days?

If you go thru my personal boring posting history, I posted 3 links not too long ago.

Bummer!:( Overworked from carrying around all that BLING!!

There was a report of one showing the lightening bolt but not charging. The poster never came back so I don't know if he got it resolved, or exchanged... Screenname: Something "gotti".
I had that happen once but I think it was a bad usb cable.

Yeppers, the bling did it in. HA!

Mine does not display a lightening bolt, and I tried several different cables. It's a goner. RIP lil silver guy.

Oh and that poster? With a name like Gotti, I think it's understandable why they didn't come back........

    My Bestie's da bestie. ;)

    Anyone need 'Stick parts? :D

Here I only ran the Nautilus 5ml tank on for one day on one of the pair when the Eleaf Ohm and Power arrived and took some notes that while the display showed 20w when turned all the way up guess what? With the factory installed 1.6ohm coil it never actually made the 20ohm mark on the meter! Iwas at 19.4 peak as I recall.

As far as the Vamo series the max until the V6-7-8 models came out suddenly this fall has been 3-15w not no 35w as seen with the V8. It was at this time last year the first 20Ws were coming out. Then soon afterwards you saw the first 30Ws. Through the late spring and early fall the GOD Mod came flying in at 100w followed by both the 40s and 50s as well as the 180, 200, and now 260watters.

Gee I guess it's time to pull out that old Ohm's Law Calculator again!

Mine peaks at 19.2 watts on a 1.3 ohm coil. The problem with ohms law calculators is people tend to use them to crunch numbers as if they were using a mech, not taking into account that the device may be limited in unexpected ways.....i.e. istick wont run at full voltage across all ohms, so they crunch the numbers and say "see, look what it can do". Yeah, go ahead and show me it doing that, cause mine won't :p

Have you tried doing this, Kat dahrling?

    Passing through!

Happy and Merry and Joyous! :)

Happy to you, to, other Kat. Hon, I've tried everything short of what I will say to Mr. USMC below. I think the port is damaged somehow. And I also don't really feel it's worth it to futz with it at this point. But yes, I did try all that on off, plug unplug jazz. It was fun for me, but the 'Stick is still non-responsive. FLAT lined.

    Don't scrap it....mod it! :p

 WHAT did you say? You said the "M" word? to ME??? MOD it? ahahahahahahhahaha! Did you forget who you're talking to?

Mod it. Best Xmas joke to date, USMC! :D

Let me know if you need help with it.

You're a sweetie. I just might toss a PM your way, KTM, and thank you so very much!

    You are very funny!

    I'll do in a pinch, shack. ;)

Hope you can get it up and running again, Katdarling. Glad you have another on the way to keep you company til you do.

Thanks, emms, but it's Xmas, not Easter.... ya know? I am far from mod-less, so no worries. I do appreciate the hope tho!

I hate to tell you, but unless you got a defective unit in a fortuitous manner, they are still under amp limits even in voltage mode. In fact, if you put a 1.3 ohm coil on it (what I'm using on my dripper on mine) the max voltage it will do is 5 volts, for 19.2 watts
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

So both of my iSticks and Phil Busardo's are defective? Phil's video, at 23:46, clearly shows the iStick firing 5.1V (RMS) into a 1.1Ω load. Ohm's Law (and Joule's Laws) tells us this dissipates 23.65W at the coil. This also happens to pull 4.65 Amps. So the 4.5A limit is not a hard one. My testing shows the same. Phil did not test intermediate resistances between 1.1 & 1.6Ω. But the iStick certainly is able to fire the 4.5A limit at those resistances, up to a maximum of 5.5Vavg. Watch the video. It's clearly spelled out...

That's interesting, because my 1.5Ω builds in my RTAs fire at a maximum 5.4Vavg on my iSticks, equaling 21W dissipated at the reisistance load (coil).

So I will repeat, the istick can not exceed 20 watts, regardless of mode, and will only reach 20 @ 1-1.1 ohm.
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

    I respectfully disagree with you...

This is a limited power end user device.
If the end user is Happy with performance - THAT is all that matters. :)

I couldn't agree more with you, crxess. And here's where I end my part of this conversation before we annoy the begeebus out of the rest of this thread.

I just ordered an istick! Mostly for its pocket ability since right now I have a Vtr.

I'm planning on using an Iclear30s and protank3 with an areotank base, will either of this depress my centre pin?

Any tank can depress the pin or/and strip the threads bare. Sorry... :p

Sorry to hear about your iStick, Katdarling. I know what losing one is like.

I would start by making sure the USB cable is working to spec.

Vape the iStick down until it won't fire any longer. Turn it off and plug it in.

If this doesn't work, it could be a number of things internal of the device.

As for best deals on a new one?

    For US retailers:

VapeNW has it for 29.86 +S&H on their website.
iStick by Eleaf Simple Pack (20W) ON SALE @ VapeNW com $29.86

USA Vaping Supplies has it for $30 +S&H
Eleaf iStick 20W - USA Vaping Supplies

Eccigity has it for $33.99 +S&H
Eleaf iStick 20W Battery - Eciggity

Good luck! Let us know if we can help any more.

ETA: I should have read through the thread, as this post is mostly redundant or necessary!

Thank you so much, aldenf. I will definitely vape it down. And I suppose I now have to admit it's not dead, but rather comatose, since it does have about a 1/2 battery charge left. After that fateful cut off point, I will absolutely to the turn it off, plug it in, , , like 57 times, cuz that's really a lot of fun to do.

Thanks also for posting the current deals. It appears my Bestie has a silver one packaged up for me and is sending it in tomorrow's mail, so I think between that, my other 2 'Sticks, and a "FEW" other mods (cough), I'll be ok puff wise. ;)

Appreciate the words 'o wisdom tho! :)

How's your Istick doing? I just responded to Kat's PM and hopefully can help her out too.

I've been having problems with the 510 pin on my black one so I haven't used it in a couple of months.

    Merry Christmas to Everyone!

    Xmas is over :p

Hope everyone's Xmas was great!!! :D

I just started using the blue one that Lady Pharaoh donated for my experiment. I've had to resolder the ground a couple of times but I think it's good now but I haven't really touched it until today. It seems to be holding up now. I wanted to PIF to someone in need but I didn't think it was reliable enough so it's been collecting dust.

I loved the size of the Istick but mine hasn't lasted more than a month before the 510 pin and threads started having issues. I've since replaced it with a VS rDNA 40 and VS DNA 30 recently to fill the role of the tiny vaper that would be more reliable and better built. I also got a Hana mini clone with the plans to upgrade it with a DNA 40, VT 510 and 18650. I love the spring loaded 510 pins of my Vaporsharks and VT 510s (currently on a MVP2, Istick and 2 of 7 Hana clone boxes). I also have a Cloupor Mini on order as that's the only real "mini" box (SX Mini and IPV Mini aren't so mini) that's been recently released.

Katdarling - You have first dibs on either Istick if you want. The blue one seems to be more reliable but probably could benefit from a wrap (the ones that go all the way around the Istick) as I've taken the front black pieces off a few times and the double stick tape isn't holding on as well as when it was new.
