I'm not sure what you mean. The top cap is some type of metal alloy. It's fairly soft which explains why the threads strip. I used a VariTube 510 with 14mm pad.
The 510 was too long so I had to raise it a couple of mm's to clear the firing pin inside the body. I ended up using a crush washer for the oil plug on one of my motorcycles.

Where is that?$10.00 less in the verified section of ecf, albeit without adapter![]()
Where is that?
Sorry, I may be lost! Thanks for any help ... anyone!
Did ya get ya one? When you do..LFYI .I just took the little air set screw all the way out! Wow!So where can you get this GS Air tank again?
That's me!I think these pics should help illustrate the point:I had gotten two plastic top caps from another ECF member and used FDV V4's with 22mm landing pad. I had also ordered the V4 low profile with a 22mm landing pad. The low profile landing pad is fixed and it will cover the screws on the top and make it difficult to impossible place the plastic top cap on. I don't know how to upload pictures, so I'm sorry I cannot show you exactly what I mean. Look back to post number #5585 and you can see the top caps I speak of.

As you can see the 22 mm washer is too large and covers the mounting holes so there is no way to attach the top cap unless the washer has holes drilled into it or notched.
I want to note that this is no fault of FDV or the maker of the top cap, its simply 2 pieces that are not meant to work together without some re engineering or modification. I have no issues drilling out 2 small holes for mounting through the washer.

Thanks for the pictures and explanation. I would completely recommend the V4 as the pad can be placed after installation of the top cap. The V4 low profile has the pad attached to the 510 and would require drilling the pad to allow it to be attached to the mod. Not sure if the V3 is the same. I really like my iSticks and now with the upgraded features that have been put into them they are solid performers for me.

Yes it screws right on, when ordering the V4 I had to order the 22mm pad as well, it comes with a 15mm starter cap (sits in a box of parts now).

The Erlkonigin nano clone from Fasttech is just the right size for the Stick (and the price is right, too), but I'm still waiting for more reviews. It's trickier to build and wick because the deck is small.
