I have a friend who wishes to quit smoking. I am pushing him to get an Istick 30. Which is the best "plug and play" tank for this 30 watt device with replaceable coils? He knows nothing about rebuildables and I just want to point him in the right direction here.

Is there a seller who sells the Istick 30, a good tank {with the replacement coils} and the silicone cover so he can get it all from one place? Thanks in advance!

{I am clueless regarding these new, ready to go sub-ohm tank systems} :)

A million options, but, I'm a big fan of the Eleaf GS Air, a sleeper tank costing only 10 dollars that is plug and play, rugged, and a perfect match for the iStick.

I agree with Javamon - I love my GS-Air tanks. I purchased one, and then liked it so much, I ordered 3 more. Fits really well on the istick and also has air control.

It's not a widespread problem. But this is the third report of the "temperature protection" kicking in on this thread. The chipset should not overheat while vaping at 13W. I'm guessing it's a workmanship/QC issue with bad soldering. I recommend you RMA that IStick 30 with your vendor. There's no telling if it'll get worse as time goes on.

Thanks for the feedback on the Defender. Looks like a solid option.

Good luck!

Update....

I unpacked two more iStick30W's and they both work well - no 'protection' screens above 13W and all the way to 30W with no problems. So it's just the one and that one is still vaping well at 11.5W. The other one I've been vaping for about an hour now, keep checking the higher watts and no problem. The third one I just checked but haven't vaped it a lot, but appears fine.

Thanks for the detailed info on the defender Kent C!
:toast:

I have a Genitank Mega as well and it is a great little tank, I vape it as well on the two hole setting. Sadly it hasn't seen much use since the Kayfun's arrived, I should dig it out again and give it a good tank full of Golden Pipe.

Here it is fully filled up using the twiated paper towel or QTip in the chimney method. Kanger should have allowed for a full fill right from the factory IMHO.

Cool... TD, is there a link/video on that fill full method?

Duct Tape..............

THE fix.

My 30 has all but replaced my other mods. I used to carry a VV3 a lot, out and about, but now it's gathering a little dust, too. Mainly because of it's short battery life.
Plus it lacks the power to run the "toppers" I like to use. I still keep some Menthol Tobacco juice in a T3S on it because it vapes nice @ 8W with enough flavor and cloud. I don't like a bigger hit with the tobacco and if all you vape is a tobacco flavor then I would recommend the V3, too. Otherwise, I'm a total "Sticker". Got 2 50's coming. The V4 is too long for convenience to me..

Bike, you don't like my word, "toppers"? I haz sad. :(

How about a link to the $10 sleeper tank :)

Toppers..................just ain't got used to it yet, I guess :) The alternative is "Tanks, drippers, cartos, attys, rba's, rta's etc." so I guess it makes it easier. Yeah it's good.

I shoulda bought some o' those GS's I guess, instead of the ViviNovas that gurgle on me all the time. Waitin on Melos and Delta twos.

That GS-Air looks really nice however I'm really liking RTA/RBA. I like being free from buying replacement coils not only due to cost, but also free from the worry of not being able to obtain them when I need a replacement. I wouldn't be able to vape and my life would turn to complete emptiness, sadness, and darkness.

It's a sweet tank though.

Yeah I build too. I'm usin my Rose V2 right now. I just started usin isicks and was just lookin for some little "topper" kat to use with them til the Delta Twos come out.and the Melos. I bought a couple of ViviNovas but they are givin me problems gurgling. Pretty fair flavor with vertical coils. So I thought maybe these GS Airs would do me til the others are out. And the wife could have em cause they suit her anyway.

So I mentioned that I use the ego adapter on my iSticks despite not having any ego tanks. It's necessary on the 20w to protect the threading, but I use it with the 30w too for force of habit.

I dunno if it's just the ones I received from evape, but the ego adapters don't screw on very tight. So I end up loosening the adapter when I'm unscrewing my tanks. I tested an ego tank on it, and it takes it off every time when I remove the tank.

95% of you guys will never have to worry about this issue because you don't use the adapter, but it's a small nuisance to me.

I've always said if the VV3 came with a decent sized battery without being too tall, it would have been the perfect battery for me. They raised the battery size slightly, but having a battery that cannot last an entire work day is unacceptable.

I never really didn't want a box mod, but I had no choice but to get the MVP2. The iStick with it's size and side trigger button has been the perfect battery for me.

Both my EHpro KFL+v2's fit flush on my istick. Dunno what some of you guys are talking about.

I understand. It does look like a nice setup and almost unbelievably priced too. I haven't heard of the Rose V2. I'm gonna check it out right now. I've been thinking of trying the Eleaf Lemo or Lemo drop possibly.

They seem to price at about $30 to $35

Here is an AeroTank fill that works for the Genitank as well.

Tom is a little long winded... :D

A twisted up piece of paper towel in the chimney works great as well.

Simple enough. Thanks!!

(link isn't showing in the post but it is in the 'reply with quote' ??? lol)

Come on, Bike, work with me here. :) It's my one and only claim to fame for the world of vape!

By the way, what are you using in the Vivi Novas...... the BVC heads?
