I know and agree. I started out with ego c then vivi novas then T3 then pt1 then pt2. The protanks to me were never that good. The thing is I couldn't quit smoking till I got a Kayfun. That was a couple years ago, nowadays the are many inexpensive options such as aerotank or nautilus that beat the pt2 hands down.you have no idea just how many vapers, both on vaping forums, but esp. NOT on vaping forums, who love the old technology, and quit smoking using an ego twist and an evod clearomizer or T2, etc. As a matter of fact, many still prefer them. Ditto for simple batteries......I never have vaped over 8 watts. I rarely have ever turned a battery up past 4.1-4.2. And that's going on 3 years.
Although I've actually "owned" all the big stuff. I sold it all off.
Right now, manufacturers are shooting themselves in foot by not keeping simpler smaller gear alive. I personally have no desire to carry around anything bigger than an ego battery.
I know I know I deserve it but it's just that my vape experience has improved ten fold post protanks, there's so many cheap options out there. Oh well *sits in corner *

Yep so many options nowadays to get an amazing vape for very little money. Used to be you had to spend $100+ to get a great vape.Forget the Aerotank and Nautilus. I just got an Eleaf Air tank. Hands down the best commercial tank ever made. Total sleeper. You can get one for under 10 bucks.

You're right and I apologize. I should have read Mac's post more carefully and explained that the coil was stress tested at 45 watts and that he considered the practice unadvisable. As it were, I just grabbed the picture to illustrate my general uneasiness with high wattage vaping and its possible dangers. Kanger recommends 30 W max for those coils. I'll edit my OP.
Having said that, I'm still uneasy about what happens when we vape at very high temperatures. Dr. Farsalinos is conducting a study on the subject as we speak and I, for one, can't wait to see the results.
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/e-cigarette-research-temperature-of-evaporation
"Continuing our commitment for unbiased research on e-cigarettes, we are now launching a new campaign for what we consider to be THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect in e-cigarette safety and future development: TEMPERATURE OF EVAPORATION. Although e-cigarettes do not combust any material, heat is necessary to generate the vapor (aerosol) which is subsequently inhaled by the users. This can result in thermal decomposition of some e-cigarette ingredients, releasing potentially toxic chemicals (most commonly aldehydes, such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and acrolein). Until now, no study has systematically evaluated temperatures inside the wick, while we have observed several methodological mistakes in assessing aldehydes release (e.g. ingoring that higher wattage is associated with less puff duration in realistic use)."
Sweet vapes still has them. And I saw them at Fasttech.
