Not sure I've heard that but if it's so, I'll order one tomorrow. I like Mean myself. :)
I'll eventually get one I suspect, but I've really had no problems with my 20's so far. Just treat them nice and you will get lots of nice vapes from them until they die, then get new. They last a lot longer than my old bic lighters.

The i stick mini is certainly mini -- it's the short one, and quite adorable.

Brusardo does good reviews

When he first did the iStick 30W if I remember correctly was just before he left at the last minute right before he went to China and had only gotten an IStick 30W sample and did not have full information about it yet

Then sometime after his China trip he did the current iStick 30W review which was close to the release of the iSick 50W

I currently have no interest in the 50W but also watched his review for the 50W

His 30W review was I suppose adequate but unfortunate you had to carefully watch both to extract information

To tell you the truth I like my 20W as it suites my needs and I was going to order another 20W as a backup

But people here have been saying how much better it is and the price point is not that much different I decided to get the 30W which arrived today

I make my own juices, so cleaning out an atty and replacing the juice with fresh is not a problem

But I will like about the 30W, I have read it does not burn juice like the 20W does so flavor stays good at least longer; and the voltage and wattage are handled differently and it also gives a better vape

    Got a 30 now- nice!!

Little problem now is I bought 3 OHM cartos for my 20 and the 30 won't go down under 3.7volts with them. Like to start them @ 3.4v.

There we go- 2 OHM'ers make it go lower now. Guess I'll go back to them now. Used to be if you got a big batt mod, you gotta have the 3 OHM stuff....

-Guess these are problems many here won't have :)

As far as I know, PBusardo never did a 30w review, only the 20w and 50w.

Question to you guys who have taken them apart: where do you get the proper size Torx driver? I've been to several hardware stores and nobody carries one that tiny.

It's a Torx T-5. They are a quite common size. Most hardware stores should carry them.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. I'll look into that. After 6 months with two 20w's, the micro USB on one of them broke loose from the board, so gotta fix it. I also have two 30w's but I still love my 20's.

I bought a set of 6 1/4" bits from ebay for about $5 which was cheaper than a single torx screwdriver here. I thought they would fit in one of my multi bit screwdrivers. They did fit in one of them but didn't lock in and kept falling out so I used them in a mini ratchet wrench. It was a little awkward but it worked.

I was expecting the screws to be T6 because that's what the guy who did the tear down video said but the T5.5 seemed to work best.

I have read it [the iStick 30W] does not burn juice like the 20W does so flavor stays good at least longer; and the voltage and wattage are handled differently and it also gives a better vape

The iStick 30W and 50W mods are RMS calibration only, just as the iStick 20W is mean/avg calibration only. Calibration isn't switchable on any of the three.

Mean vs. RMS and PWM vs. DC-DC are apples and oranges---completely different in what they are and what they do. In fact, mean or average calibration is irrelevant in DC-DC (or "flat" signal) mode of regulating voltage. Only RMS applies in DC-DC. With pulse-width modulation (PWM), either method of calculating voltage can be used---mean/avg or RMS---but RMS is much preferred, since mean calculation of overall voltage will result in the mod "running hot" at lower wattages, as the iStick 20W does.

While the iStick 30W and 50W mods are not "true" DC-DC devices---they still use high-frequency PWM at low wattages to approximate a kind of faux step-down (or "bucking") below the supplied battery voltage---the "running hot" problem was mostly addressed and corrected by eLeaf's engineers and chip programmers. Both the 30W and 50W are slightly inaccurate below 4 volts, but not in a way that's obvious to most users, and certainly nowhere close to the inaccuracy of the 20W iStick.

I believe Brusardo's review said it switches itself to mean over a certain wattage. This isn't settable, it's programmed in.

Nope. What the iStick 30W and 50W do, as well as the iPV Mini 30W, is automatically switch over from PWM to DC-DC regulation when the selected wattage reaches about 4 volts, roughly what the battery supplies. I appreciate that this distinction can be confusing, but that's about voltage regulation, not calibration.

When I ordered my iStick 30W

I also ordered 2 iStick 20W/30W Silicone Cases the cost was $2.00 each before giving the discount coupon code from Rocky Mountain Vaper

    I got my order today

I want to tell you that these $2 silicone cases fit both my 20W and New 30W iSticks absolutely perfectly in every-way

The Silicone has no smell after you let it sit in the air a short while

This Silicone case has a perfect feel for your hand and or fingers,, you can even feel the fire button place and the up down arrows places without looking of the etched areas.and the cutout display window

They are not slippery, they are perfect for gripping or holding your iStick

I do not know for sure if these are Eleaf brand or not? They probably are because of the quality.

Non of my iSticks have loose or noisy or rattle buttons, but if yours do these cases will stop the noise the moment you slip them on

They Slip on nicely with a snug fit

What a great deal, I have seen Silicon iStick cases selling on ebay or other vapor web sites for $6-$10 or more

I could not be happier getting these cases
