Evape-us gets them in pretty frequently. Just check back if you're not in a hurry. Their price cannot be beat and their service is quick and reliable.
Yes, I've heard a lot of people like them, however I got the itch and ordered one and a pack of coils just a minute ago from Sweet-Vapes. Couldn't wait.
Many thanks! :)

I must be the only person posting on this thread who feels that the eleaf GS Air tank is nothing special.

With all the love on the thread for the GS Air awhile back, I bought one on sale, along with two packs of dual-coil replacement heads. I really expected to love the GS-Air and was very disappointed when I didn't. Maybe the head that came installed on the tank was a dud or something, but it popped and spit like crazy, on top of which it didn't provide flavor that was any better than my dirt-cheap EVOD-style BCC Chinese GS-H2/H5 clearos re-coiled with cotton or rayon wicks, and it couldn't hold a candle to my Nautis or Aspire clearos with BVC heads.

I did toss the original head and try again with a replacement head, but the result was the same. I don't know, maybe I'll try another new head. What the heck, I still have nine of them. LOL.

By the way, I'm not in any way suggesting that all you GS-Air fans are wrong. All I'm saying is that I didn't have a satisfying experience with mine.

I like the tuttle puffers once in s while, they lack sufficient air flow for me to use frequently, but their good for stealth vaping if you want something small to put on an iStick and place it in a front pocket, and the coils are cheap too.

Personally, mine been sitting on the shelf lately. Seems like I go in streaks, higher ohm small tanks, to sub-ohm bigger atty's. I'm into the lower ohm atty's this month......:)

Kat,

I ordered two of the Smowell DPV-50s---one from fasttech (for $39 pre-ordered a month and a half ago) and another more recently from gearbest when the price dropped to $32 bucks. The one from fasttech arrived on Saturday. It was DOA. The chip was defective and the display screen showed only gobbledygook (randomly changing pixels, like a kaleidoscope).

I'm not unhappy that it was defective, however. Construction seemed shoddy, and I had concerns about the chip anyway, since it's the same chip that had problems in the SMOK 50W box, the one they replaced immediately with the 65W version. I've even wondered about the possibility that SMOK dumped all those 50W chips dirt cheap to Smowell.

At any rate, now I'll get my $39 back from fasttech. Presuming that the second DPV-50 is not defective when it arrives from gearbest, I'll decide then whether it's worth keeping.

I have about 30 of the earlier BVC coil heads, in both Nautilus and clearo style (for the Aspire K1 and CE5S). While the kerfuffle over Aspire's use of "ceramic" (fiberglass?) in those heads warrants concern, my experience is that those coil heads perform brilliantly---giving great flavor and a lovely, smooth draw. I've decided to use up all my stock of the old heads, but to do so more quickly than I otherwise might, vaping each one about half as long as I would have, then tossing them.

I rebuild my Kanger Subtank and Atlantis heads with 26 gauge vertical coils at about 0.7 ohm wicked with KGD cotton, and they perform just like the originals, but the smaller BVC Nauti and tiny BVC clearo heads proved too hard and finicky to rebuild effectively for me, so I gave up on even trying to do so. Once my stock of old heads is used up, I don't know if I'll buy new cotton-only heads for those older Aspire clearos (Nauti, K1, CE5S) or just retire them in favor of RTAs/RDAs.

Bill, I'm dismayed, but still anxious to give the "Welly" a shot. I'm hoping that your experience is not ours, but I'll keep you all posted! I'm sorry you had a dud with that one, and let's xxxxxxxx fingers it was an isolated case.

I am surprised you didn't like/love the GS Air. Another flop for you? That's a shame and disappointing, I'm sure. It has proven itself to be not only able to hold a candle to the Naughties, but be the candelabra itself. Should I be you, I would give them another go.

I just received a lovely gift of yet another one today, and I'm anxious to fill and thrill with it. Is it my all time favorite tank? I dunno. I'm loving the Cerotanks, but the GS Air is rivaling it in popularity. I would like it in the next size up tho. (ahem, Eleaf, come ON!)

IMRs? You didn't have one til now???? I'll look for your posts and reports. ;)

And........

a bit :offtopic:

There is a new thread for all things ACRONYM, if any of you are interested. Come by and have some fun with us!

IMRs,

Is it possible you got some clone coils instead of the real deal from Aspire? I ask because I (stupidly) ordered clone BVC's from FT, and OMG - they taste HORRIBLE. Some kind of metallic taste that will NOT go away. They are suited for the trash only. I rolled the dice and lost. That's the first thing I thought of when I read about your issues with some BVC's.

love coffee

Your right as a strong possibility

KD,

I would have suggested the Defender as a replacement for the istick... ;) and so far I've had no problems (no leaks - as had been reported earlier by someone) with the GS Air. And - no problems = good! lol.

What does ANCRONYM stand for, anyway? :D

LOL!!!!!!! YOU tell me, and we'll change the thread! (maybe ;))

I really do like the Defender. I met one of our own sweet ECF'ers the other day and she had one in the Black Peacock. It's wonderful!

However, my crazy idea at this point in time is to move away from fixed Li-ion batts and move toward those with which I can replace my own batteries. I'm coming off of a terrible experience with a very lovely (translate $$$$) mod that had runaway Lipo probs. I need to (mentally) move into a new direction.

But it's adorbs!! Thanks, Kent (and I owe ya a PM or 7, don't I.)

That was an error

Understand about replaceable batts.... I have one VS but would like something smaller myself. You have the IPV right? ....and you don't owe me any. It's gone from my mind.

No, these were from MyFreedomSmokes and they do have the security jazz on them. Like Kat mentioned, the old ones are just awesome. I never had a problem with them. I considered trying the new ones with the organic cotton today, but WorldOfVape is out of the 1.8's. I refuse to make yet another change and buy the 1.6 in which I am unfamiliar with using. :(
Welp, I am probably going to start my search for a new rig - AGAIN, very soon unless these new coils are that much better

i have had problems with things I have gotten from MyFreedomSmokes several times!

I dont buy from them very much anymore because of it

Please don't be dismayed. When I criticized the "shoddy construction," I was referring to major button rattle (like marimbas), and an aluminum case that lacked refinement (slightly rough machining). In fairness, the iStick 20 rattled like crazy, too, and the bottom line is performance, which I couldn't check, since mine was defective. I have another one coming, so the Welly will get a second chance to impress me.

After I posted, I swapped out the head on my GS Air---again---for a fresh one. It didn't occur to me that I'd get two dud heads in a row, but maybe a third time is the charm. This head performs much better---less gurgling, no popping or spitting, and the flavor seems significantly improved. Perhaps it's the draw I don't love. No matter where I put the adjustment screw, from shut-down tight to completely open, I get a fairly loud whistle when I vape. If I draw very slowly, the whistling diminishes, but a normal mouth-to-lung draw makes my GS-Air sing like a flute. I guess it's possible that I got a funny tank. Anyway, don't let my whining rain on your parade.

I LIKE marimbas!!!!

And you said Welly. I'm impressed! ;)

Glad to hear you gave the Air another chance. Others have chatted about the whistling but that's not something I've noticed at all. It may turn out that it's just not your cuppa, Bill.

Whine away. My parade is safe, hon. ;)

I just got a couple packs from MyFreedomSmokes as well, and so far they taste bad too- but so did my other coil that I got out of a fresh Naut Mini that came with it. But it goes away after about....1-2 mils of vaping. I think the cotton just sort of burns at the start, and you have to break it in/let it soak much-much longer beforehand. At least that's what happened with mine last time. I hated it to start, but by the end it was just like the old BVC's. You might want to fish one of those out of the trash and knuckle bite through it.

But I read somewhere the that 100% cotton ones come with a slip thing, and these didn't... I just don't know anymore. But something to try to salvage these- it only tastes bad at the start.

Do you own a DNA40 device? Try the Ni200 temp control for the Nautilus. You'll be surprised!
