The 5 post rule in New Members was done away with nearly a year ago.

While I considered it a PITA when I had to go through it, it does potentially have the benefit of weeding out some of the chaff.

The OP was a troll post and it was effective. Yes, there are misinformed people, I get that. But, if I went to a flashlight collectors forum and made my first post stating that it was a stupid worthless hobby, likely to cause injury and should be stopped, I'd be trolling. If I related that to a family member or friend then no, I'd just be giving my opinion. Context makes a huge difference. Surprised this thread is still going.

ETA: I don't blame the membership for not trying to educate an obvious troll but I'm surprised so many fell into the trap he/she set.

EXACTLY!!!!! The funny thing about the initial 5 posts is you rack your brain for something to say then afterwards you cant shut up.

I didn't see what Most people said because the Thread had been Redacted by the time I got here.

But I stand by what I said in Post #78. Especially the 2nd Sentence.

I believe that the OP has a Right to say what He Thinks.

But I Also Feel that we have a Right to tell him that We Think he is Full of .

Probably. But I think everything in that post was stuff I've seen before, here and in the media, and most of it was stuff I've been told personally. Even the face part. Never heard it referred to as necrosis but there have been a bunch of posts about pimples, red patches on the nose and so forth.

It's possible the OP didn't know any other vapers, and got barraged by negative propaganda from family and friends and media, and ended up believing it, and maybe developed red patches on their nose. Then decided to come here and warn the rest of us. And not being very articulate and lacking communication skills produced a clumsy hectoring post.

Guess we'll never know.

Hahaha, it just occurred to me. Many/most/all of us are distraught over the FDA and State actions of recent. Is it possible this guy was just used (by us) as a catalyst to vent hostilities?

I am wondering how many other places the original post has been posted. I am thinking it wasn't typed up specifically for ECF. I have a feeling it has been posted on other forums and probably every comment section Joseph can find. It is sad, to say the least, that there are lots of sheep that think like he does. It just means we have to work harder to counteract what is to us pure half truths and downright lies If the OP is more than just someone trolling for effect then I do hope he comes back and gives us a chance to help him understand that vaping is a miracle for those of us that couldn't put the cigarettes behind us any other way.

I'm a conspiracy theorist, so bear that in mind. This thread could be an experiment on social media to show how prone we are as a group to dog pile on anything we don't like. If so, it was very effective.

It seems that almost everyone is aware that the OP was a troll. This is certainly an eye-opening thread for me.

Yes, very very effective. I have seen anti-vaping troll posts here before. Very few struck a nerve with members like this one.

If a member of the general public who doesn't have a strong position on vaping, one way or another, were to read through this thread, i wonder which way they would lean thereafter.

Bacon can be a nice "nuance" to other savory flavors. Not the main course, just a hint. But then again I also use dill, and Worcestershire in my juices too!
