I see a lot of posts accusing you of being an FDA shill. The thing is, the FDA has no problem with the Nicotine, it's pretty much everything else (which is more absurd IMO).
To respond to your statement, let's look at the actual facts. Smoking cigarettes (or anything for that matter) is the problem. The multitude of carcinogens, chemicals, and the smoke itself is why cigarettes are as bad for both smokers and second hand smokers. Why is it that the average ejuice chemical make up can fit on 1-2 pages, but the report on a non menthol is 28 pages and menthol is 30?
To your next point regarding nicotine. You are correct in that nicotine does temporarily increase heart rate and blood pressure. However, you left a few things out. Nicotine by itself (eg not in cigarettes) is not carcinogenic and requires a massive amount(50-100mg) in order for their to be an issue. When you combine it with cigarettes, because of the numerous chemicals, nicotine aids in large spikes in HR and BP. Speaking on a completely subjective point, my BP was normally around 140/97 while I was smoking. When I quit and was still using 3mg ejuice about 30ml a day, my BP dropped to 124/78. Now, I vape w/ no nicotine and I literally have the average BP 120/80.
I can't speak to the acne or supposed necrosis your talking about (you'd think there'd at least be a reference in a medical journal for something like that). PG (also used in Ice Cream, Cheese, Coca Cola and Pepsi products, etc), does not do anything to your vascular system. While it does, in people with an allergy to PG, cause the dry, red, itchy symptoms, in most cases, this is not true.
Yes, smoking and vaping are bad for your health. Is vaping better than smoking? (.... the FDA) YES! 95-99% safer according to 2 recent findings. Is using a patch or gum a better option than vaping? Nope, even the head of the FDA concede the fact that smokers are far more likely to quit smoking altogether through vaping.
Which brings me to the end of this correction. I speak for myself, but what I set out to do was quit smoking 2 packs a day and I did it through vaping. I wasn't trying to quit nicotine as you say, I wanted to stop killing myself 40x a day and that's what I did.
