I do have one question tho....

why would patches and gums be better than vaping when all 3 items contain nic? wouldnt they all be the same as being addictive?
and... Ive never met anyone addicted to nic gum/patches...

People do get addicted to gum nicotine but for some reason (Stomach problems ?) most cannot use them on a regular basis.

Try some caffeine in the morning coffee.
It is almost as good as nic for clearing your mind
and allowing us to focus and relax.

No tar, no 4000 chemicals= No harm no foul.

The day my doctor told me I had emphysema was the same day I quit smoking thanks to these vaping lifesavers. They are a godsend not a curse.

"We smoke for the nic and die from the tar"
No dying from vapes. Cheers.

Hear me out. E-cigs are simply a substitute, hell even a worse substitute for smoking. I have been addicted for 5 years now, and I used E-cigs for 2 of those years. People, smoking cigarettes is not the problem, the problem is nicotine! It is the DRUG, a highly addictive one at that, which keeps you addicted. Now imagine you have a hand tool at your disposal at all times, doesn't require going outside and lighting up in a controlled fashion, just a tool that you can press a button any time to get the nicotine, that is what an E-cig is! I know I ingested the most nicotine ever when I used a vape. The fact that you can just press the button several times a minute and inhale with no concern means you will ingest more nicotine. And of course, with the way our brains work, you will become more powerless to avoid pressing that button and inhaling, because it feels oh so good with every cloud. Another problem I wanted to address is your skin. There have been a lot of questions and rumors about vaping and acne. These aren't rumors, they are fact. Persistent vaping each day will indeed cause skin problems, especially on your face. It is not traditional acne, it is a form of skin necrosis. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, and of course vaping encourages an even more prevelant dosage of nicotine in your blood stream at all times of the day. This constant vaping, along with the effect of propelyne glycol, a main ingredient in E liquids (also used in anti-freeze) will dry out the skin and constrict the flow of skin enriching nutrients through your blood vessels. This will cause dry, itchy, irritated skin with in-grown red bumps. This happens because you are constantly de-hydrating your skin while simultaneously constricting the blood vessels. Whether it's cigarettes or vapes, both are just horrible for your lungs, heart and your skin. My advice is to seek professional help, and maybe start on a nicotine gum or lozenge that you can ween off of. Those products are not pleasurable compared to vaping, which is why they will work better in terms of quitting. Vaping nicotine will never make you quit because vaping feels even better!
I've read that there are 40 million people vaping worldwide. Vaping has been round for about 8 years. Where are the reports of doctors treating illnesses caused by using ecigs? May be there can be problems or may be there can be problems with certain people but it's pretty clear the risks are far lower than smoking. And I'm avoiding the cost of cigarettes which was $3,000 a year for me. My cost of DIY ingredients for a year is $30. Will I live longer? Time is money.

Of course vaping has a stronger appeal than nicotine gum etc. but that's how it works. As a smoker, I could also see an appeal of it not being designed as a short-term transitional substitute but something suitable for continued enjoyment. Many have gone on to quit vaping, and also many have reported it is easier to quit vaping temporarily than that is for cigarettes. I had a day recently I couldn't (or didn't) vape and instead of making a beeline for it as soon as I got home as I surely would have as a smoker, I actually forgot about it for a few minutes.

I disagree with all your statements and I have tried all the pharmaceutical items and none of them helped me quit smoking burning tobacco except ecigs. I have my opinion and you are entitled to yours. Some facts to back up your stance would be appropriate if you want to be taken seriously. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Damn, most censored thread I have seen, makes me wonder what I missed.....

With regards to the OP, yes, I am fully aware that am still addicted to nicotine, and also to other less tangible parts of the act of smoking, hand to mouth, lung feel, etc. I am OK with that. Would I rather not be addicted to anything, sure I would, but alas I am a mere mortal. I am addicted to caffeine too, excuse me while I go make myself another espresso. I learned in another realm (another addiction), that the key question, at least for me, is "does this addiction make my life unmanageable". Smoking tobacco certainly was because of the health affects that I personally was experiencing. I have yet to experience any effects from vaping that would make me answer yes to that key question.

For me, vaping is all about "harm reduction". I am not saying it is harmless, the jury is still out on that, I suspect inhaling anything into your lungs other than clean air probably has some level of harm associated with it.

However, I am absolutely confident that vaping is far less harmful than smoking tobacco. My own body tells me this, and my doctor agrees.

Sorry, but this statement (taken directly from the FDA) immediately invalidates your credibility. You may or may not have made some good points but you've lost all respect, so your points are immediately scoffed at. Would you take anyone seriously who stated that "one of the reasons you shouldn't drink water is because it's used in battery acid"?

Well, water is highly addictive, I can't go a full day without drinking some.

After reading the OP I said to myself <<< self >>> this is gonna get real interesting so I fixed a huge cup of coffee!!! ;)

    /on topic

I have to say even though WE as vapers don't believe a lot of what the OP said, there are those out there that wholeheartedly do. 2 weeks ago when my mom was in the hospital, much of this entire spiel is what I either overheard or what was said directly to me.
I understand educating the ill informed is supposed to be helpful yet at the same time we the vaper have to take into account it's not easy to change others perspective or perceptions.
Most of what they preach about regarding the dangers of ecigs is what they've gossiped with each other about- no real research to educate themselves was done on their part.

It is sad that there are folks out there that truly do believe all the lies about this life saving miracle....just follow the money
