Don't worry, I did the same thing. I fixed it also. If you're into brevity: pinch the threaded area of the post with pliers. That will depend on how much thread you took out. I still had a bunch left so taking it out of round a bit fixed it right up.

Heheje im not the only one then!!

Anyways that post is bust. The threads are completely gone unfortunately.

I ended up working on my other one. It's a erlk mini :) opened the main hole to 3/32, drilled the side holes to 1/16 and then used a Dremel to widened it now. The airflow is much much better and the erlk is finally back in my rotation :)

Actually the Erlkonigin takes a left handed coil. One of the reasons I like it. I'm ambidextrous and wrap my coils lefthanded. I suspected I did after seeing other peoples' coils, but wasn't certain until other people pointed it out. Then I watched a PBusardo wrap a coil a couple of weeks ago and that confirmed it.

Hum... I'm right handed and I always do left handed coils according to your picture.

With kanthal I prefer to tighten the legs counterclockwise under the screws (because the coil is shorter and ccw naturally compresses the coil) but clockwise when using ni because a) the screws grab better the wire (pull it under) and b) the coil is generally longer so no issues with expanding by tightening.

Clone owner here, it gurgles and wets AFC ring after few minutes of vape.
Tried various wattage and wicks.. still the same.
Could anyone please give some advice where else to look...
also
How do a fix that ring? If I screw it at tightest position (I like), after several draws (probably related to wetting) it moves to close position.

p.s.
the only reason i'm "playing" with it so far is I still have non to replace with.... yet

Gurgling and flooding is usually due to a bad vacuum in the tank. I'd start by checking the o-rings around the fill ports as these tend to get chewed up rather quickly.

So far sealing tape holds OK.. also.. blue thin line.. looks nice.. but it will be trouble some to fill a tank :)

probably the rings were issue.. they are from silicone... I guess rubber ones would hold longer...
is there any supplier in EU? so far I saw only US ones and they charge a lot for sending.

..
found few on ebay with free delivery

After getting a KangerTech K-Simar to replace my dying Sigelei 20W I found that its spring loaded pin wouldn't make contact with the recessed center pins on my Erls. So off to the ECF threads I go and find the credit card spacer idea. I have no tool to cut a round 4.5mm diameter disc and those things are really small compared to my wife's best kitchen scissors. I never drew blood but was able to send several tiny plastic saucers across the garage that always end up with the really small screws that I cannot ever find. (insert favorite profanity here).

So off to the piece/parts collection because something has to work. The spare 3 x 1 orings for the top fill holes in the cap are just slightly too large and won't cram in there. Eureka, if you cut a quarter of the ring out with a xacto knife, back the center post screw out just enough, and work it under the post with a small flat blade, you can screw it back together nicely with just a sliver of the post beyond the recess. Contact and solid readings.

Just passing along an idea in appreciation of all the tips that are shared and work for me, folks. Thanks.

I figured out something even way easier. Get a really small o-ring (like a Kayfun fill screw o-ring) and take out the 510 pin completely. Place the o-ring on the 510 pin above the plastic spacer and then screw the pin back in.

Yepper, would've been ideal and those smaller ones are now on order. But we've got to try the new toys right now, don't we kids? I'll put those in on the next tear down and thanks!

Saw this ErlK-style atty last month https://www.fasttech.com/products/2074900 and wanted to try it. What attracted me was the AFC ring at the bottom of the base. My chief complaint with the ErlK has always been the loud industrial sound it made. This atty is much quieter and smoother than the standard ErlK. The vape is about the same as far as vapor and flavor, so I'm very pleased with my latest ErlK-style topper. Hope FT will have some replacement glass tanks soon.DSCN3532.jpgDSCN3530.jpg

Now that's something different :)

I like the tip. Where did you get it?

The afc seems cool. Only possible disadvantage would be the added height. I'm so used to my nano...

Sent from my keyboard through my phone or something like that.

The tip came with it. There's also a 510 adaptor so you can use any 510 tip. With the AFC ring, it's a tall atty and I'm wondering how long before I knock it over and break the glass tank:ohmy:

Is there anyplace to pick up the Earl mini clone anymore? I know FT stopped making them and i really wanted a mini to play around with before purchasing an authentic Prinz.

I'll need to read through this thread and figure out all this "Erl-" shenanigans. I'm giving up on my KFv4 and need another, top-filling, single coil RTA to hold me over until i can snag an Ubertoot UTA. :D

FT got Ubertoot clones yesterday. Looks like a clone of the beta, but I don't care. I want to try it before shelling out that high price.
