Tripple digits half way to home
Yesterday I loaded up my useual 3 PV's with my cato/tanks. One filled with HHV serendipity, one with HHV Moca Java Smooth, and one with Nport. The Shinney Penny with the serendipity also had an anodized drip tip on it. Noticed on the way to work (50 min drive), it started to taste off. Not bad just not right. On the drive home, it started to taste like metal. Ok drip tip, I've found that I really don't like the metal drip tips like I thought I would, expecially since it got colder. Get home and swap it out for a Plastic drip tip. Take a nice long vape. OMG that is nasty. Burnt carto. NP I'll swap it out tomorrow. Grab another tank with HHV Pirates Booty. Set the Provari to proper voltage. One vape and OMG another burnt carto. Ok know what I'm doing tomorrow,(today). Grab a tank of RY4 and same thing. Bunt carto. Three in one day. These were not fresh filled carto's. They range from about 4 days to around a week and a half. All the rest of the carto/tanks are fine. Ok your gonna ask what brand. One laser drilled boge LR, One self punched boge SR, and also an Ikenvape Platinium. I think my carto's followed the end of the world thing. Just a day late. Well at least I can swap the carto's out and not lose my juice now. Things you learn over time and with a little help from my friends. And I've been so happy with not burning my carto's. Part of the life journey we all take.

It's not just you. I have been fiddling with various cartos since September and some of them are just crappy. Got 6 for my tank I am assuming they're smoktech. The darned things are frustrating! Demand has gone up and IMO the manufacturers can't seem to maintain a consistent quality. It's not limited to just one brand either.

I've never liked filler cartos, but I love tanks, and need them for my cinnamon juices, so I got some CE2 style carto tank replacement cartos, and I think they're great! I've been using one for over a month, clean it and dry burn, and it's good as new.

I know Madvapes has them (out of stock ATM), Sweet-Vapes and IBTanked.

Bought 3 ego stardust style cartos and all burned on same day.
Usually it takes me 2 full days of vaping to burn down carto, so it was about right time since I was rotating them with usage.
My vivi nova live started second week today without any burnt taste. So from that part I really enjoy it, but will order T3's pretty soon to check out about all the fuzz going around it :)
And I don't think that I will ever again order anything that can't be rebuilt/repaired or atomizer head changed.

I'd bought a batch of standard size Boge's for a couple of my shorter tanks back in the summer (Bogate era). Was not impressed; the polyfill is tighter packed than the Smokteks that I was more familiar with, so top-filling the cartos as I do took longer. Flavor and longevity was not impressive. Never bought more.

Long period of using Smokteks, preferred the looser packed polyfill. Seem to have good longevity and flavor. Occassional duds, but definitely a small percentage.

Been using the Ikenvape Platinums for a couple of months now and they are my current favorite. After two batches no duds, improved flavor and longevity over the Smokteks. Issue of availability on consistant basis.

I've tried one Ikenvape Fusion (801 threaded), allegedly the finest carto Ikenvape sells. Extremely disappointed. Harsh vape (although resistance checked out on the provari). I'm hoping it was a single dud; I haven't had time to try the others in the batch.

Sorry Baditude I won't be buying anymore Ikenvape's. I'll go with the boges anytime. Both brands burnt last night and I just think it was the Carto end of the world. Never had it happen before like this. Only had one bad boge since bogegate, and that was my fault. Just wasn't impressed with the platium I got. The first one I tried wouldn't screw onto my SB like it did everything else. Provari was fine, Vamo was fine. SB wouldn't work with it. But hey I only got 60 more to go through. LOL yea I got stocked up when I got em. Last count was like around 200 carto's so I think I'm good for a day or two.

I find it interesting that I read that the Ikenvape cartos are built by Boge to Ikenvape's specifications. The owner believed that he had set up an agreement with them that he would be the exclusive supplier, but apparently Boge hasn't honored that.

No clue if any of that is true or not. It is interesting that both Boge and Ikenvape cartos appear to have a denser packed polyfill, but I find the Ikenvape ones to absorb juices faster.

I really don't know about absorbing faster. on the IB Tanks I use the thingy method. For the Phinaic I use the thermometer shake method that you posted a link to. First time I've ever had 3 in one night so south on me. And they have been in use for several days, weeks. I still think it was the end of the world for them. Now if I could just convince my credit cards of that I'd be a happy man. But I do need to get some more Cherry Vape drip tips. Metal ain't good in cold weather.

I've got 10 of the vivi nova's that are kept in rotation at times. HHV blueberry muffin is wonderful. Yep the tank color is also blue mini nova. Go figure. Heck it took me over two weeks to figure out what was in one of my tanks. I swap a lot during the day.

The first time I filled my tank lol! Oh man I did the top fill on the carto as I always do. All the juice I had refilled up to that point was 100% VG. So I dump the 30pg/70vg juice from volcano in there flooded it super fast. Juice was coming out of the punch. Then there was the time I flooded it full. Actually it was a continuing thing from the first flooding. Turned the tank upside down let the eliquid settle covered the threads and blew into it. Oh Jeeze I didn't cover the air intake holes and peppered my eyes with 24 mg eliquid. Not one of my prouder moments :D

Sometimes cartos can be gamble. Even the best ones can have a dud in the box. But for me...if I get a carto to last in a tank more than a week it's a MIRACLE! I count myself lucky to get 4 days most of the time, and that includes the famed Ikenvape platinums. Sounds like the ones you had, @tnt56 might have simply lived out their lifespan. Maybe you were vaping on them a bit harder than usual. You have been under some stress, after all. I've had a steep learning curve to master the art of maximizing my cartos in the tanks...and overall, considering how much, how often, and how hard I vape, I think I do pretty well.

I don't mess with dripping drops for one thing. I use a bottle with a luer lock syringe needle on the top to fill. It's insures that the juice really does get down to the bottom and completely wets the coil and batting. Dripping is too inexact a method for me...too easy to get pockets where the juice doesn't go all the way down and too easy to get juice in the center tube. Besides...the needle method is faster. You can get bottles with luer lock tops that you can put any needle you want on at GV. Those short needles most vendors sell aren't good for carto filling, IMHO. Anyway..it's just so easy to fill...and easy to top off on the go...and easy to fill the tanks with either the SYM tool or the tank refill tool.

One thing about drip tips...a tip if you will. Sometimes things from your lips get just inside the lip of the tip. Doesn't "look" like there is anything there (might be your lip balm, might be the chicken you had last night, etc.) but it'll be there and can sure mess up the taste of your vape in a hurry! lol! Took me awhile to figure that one out.

Sorry for the long wait on my outcome. I swaped carto's in my tanks yesterday. All is right with the world now. I dumped a tank of ry4 that I was tired of. (Don't worry it was about time to change) Filled up a large IB Tank the 25mm and wish now I'd have paid attention to what I put in it. Taste really good, just can't figure out what it is. But what the heck. I'm happy and tanks are happy. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good Vape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
