DNA75 is 85% efficient vs DNA200's 97% Efficiency Rating. Couple that with a 26650 pushing high wattage and some heat generation in the mod is expected. Under repeated heavy use I would expect quite a bit of heat buildup.

Efest batteries always scared me, but I think the 26650s weren't too bad, but I would check Mooch's rating on it.

Thanks guys...
My vaping friend Steve said the same thing... The 26650 is causing the heating up... I'm gonna try the 18650 tomorrow, I will keep you guys posted!!
Btw
I have .2 ohms
26g nichrome
Parallel 7/8wraps on 3.0 I'd..
I'm gonna have to modify...
Can you all please recommend a decent build that will last me the whole 12 hours at work using this mod, I'm a dna200 guy but for the price of the vt75 I just couldn't say no to it
Oh well...
Thanks peeps

Resistance doesn't matter, the watts are what determine how many amps you're pushing.

Guys, I hooked up my SDNA 75 to escribe…..but I am struggling….either Im not a windows person, or the instructions are not simple enough for me….still, I hope to figure it out with your help. Some of my questions might sound really dumb, so apologies in advance:

1. Can I connect my dna mod to escribe without a battery inside it and make the adjustments I want? I connected it without a battery and the charging icon lit up and battery % showed as 97%, even thought here wasn't a cell in it.

2. I prefer to charge my batteries on an external charger….can I permanently disable onboard charging for the sdna75??

3. What is the difference between "download settings" and "upload settings to device"? I know this seems obvious but I made some adjustments and then clicked the upload button and no changes took effect. And once I upload my preferred settings why would I need to download them again?

4. I tweaked my LED settings as follows: Firing-Orange, Charging-Red, Fully Charged - Green…..and uploaded them to the device….but when I went back into escribe the settings had reverted to these:

RIMG0771.JPG

I cant even figure out what those blocks and timings mean….and what is the correct time to set. I could not find any explanation to this in the manual. Feeling a bit dumb here. :-x

1. Yes.

2. Yes but I haven't set it that way before so I can't tell you how.

3. Kind of what it says. If you make setting changes in escribe you [bold]must[/bold] upload them to the device. Download settings override the current escribe settings with the settings from the device. To note unless you set it to do otherwise when you connect a device it will redownload settings from the device. Also remember to save to your computer the original configurations and after you have made changes you don't want to do again.

4. The short end each block can have a set time associated. If there is a yellow arrow set it will circle back to an earlier block. Watch Pbusardos's low down on the DNA75 to get a better idea of how to set it up.

#1 Yes you can connect without battery.
#2 In Device Monitor there is "Diagnostic" tab, under it is tab for setting USB charge rate.
#3 When you hook up your mod to EScribe it downloads the current setting that are on the mod to EScribe. Upload.... any changes.
#4 Just mess with it till it's where you like, no changes are made till you upload them. (too tough for me)

I searched quite a bit and could not find any setting to disable the system from downloading my settings when I connect my device. Any idea how to do this?

Thanks for the help…please see my comments in red above.

Also, when I put in a fully charged HG2 the screen shows 97%…is this normal?

Yes. When you fire up the screen on a device it draws power from the battery at that point it causes a slight voltage sag on the device. It only needs to go under 4.15 to hit 97%. The DNA 75 board doesn't have the extra chips the DNA 200 has for guessing the actual power level of the battery without lag. You will notice later on that the % will deviate a little bit after firing as well. This is part of that.

The user that posted after me stated how to turn off USB charging. Though I would caution not to do that. Evolv chips specially starting with the DNA200 (then 75, 250, and 60) are really good chargers. Specially on a single battery device. If you don't want to charge by USB, just don't plug it into a charger. But the last thing I would do is prevent yourself from charging in emergency when you might not have access to an external charger. Anyways I checked and his process was correct. You might want to make sure escribe is set for Manufacturer. Options->User Interface->Manufacturer.

I haven't messed with the button color that much but the best I can give you is that time is the period of time that a give color is used. So lets say you had firing at Blue at .5, Red at .5, Green at .5. Your device would in 1.5 seconds go from Blue to Red to Green. On each color is an arrow. If the Arrow is yellow that is the one starts the repeat chain. So if Blue has it goes through that cycle till you stop firing. If its on red for the first 1.5 seconds it will cycle through like normal BRG, then it will alternate between Red and Green every .5 seconds. If it's on Green it after the initial 1.5s cycle it will stay a solid green till you stop firing. As for why it stays blue instead of turning orange, outside not firing for more than 3 seconds. I don't know I double checked on mine and set a different color and it alternated fine.

If you click the rhs side of any of the colour box you can choose a second colour for that box. Then the colour will fade from the lhs colour to the rhs one. It comes set up like this with charge fading from black (off) to red in one second, fading back to black at half that speed and repeating for charge gives a more interesting effect.

Cool….I figured it out thanks to your help….got my 'charging' and 'fully charged' indicators to blink red and green as I intended….

I also changed my firing colour to orange but doesn't seem to matter since the finger covers the firing butting entirely….so nothing can be seen...lol.

Thanks for the help…please see my comments in red above.

In the "Options" menu uncheck "Automatically Connect to Device"
Then when you plug in your device it won't download the settings. When you click "Upload Settings to Device" or "Device Monitor" button it will ask to connect to device.

If you want to download the settings, after connecting your device select "Connect and Download Settings" button.

Crap I reread that message what spazzer said is correct in regards to preventing the download. I don't know why I thought it was in regards to disabling charging still. Probably because it was like 3 in the morning and I just woke up for some odd reason.

Got a question from the group. Have an SDNA 75 and the lavabox 75 (vapedroid C1D2 on the way!!!). The SDNA is reading my coils correctly. The Lavabox consistently reads the coils .06 ohms higher. Is there a way to correct for this in escribe beyond overriding the ohms in the atty analyzer?

I've PMed volcano ecigs about an exchange. Got to be an issue with the 510, or the board, or the wiring.

Thanks for the help!

That might be part of the problem. Then can't tell you what it should be set for. There are some links on here and the DNA 200 thread for a copper stopper for shorting out the 510 to figure out the right resistance. Maybe someone here can chime in a good setting to try out. If you are sure the SMY is right try increasing that number till the resistance is detected closer to the SMY.
