Misreading resistance by a significant margin (for TC), popping in and out of TC randomly, showing temps in the 800s when temp was set to 450, showing random strings of numbers (say, for example 346712) on the screen when fired were the major issues I experienced.

Though maybe it was the kayfun 5 that was the issue so I tested all of them with my raven's moon rta as it has the best possible conductivity and rock solid connections. Wrapped spaced 316L SS coils, cleaned all the contacts, and the steam engine CSV setting. Experienced the same issues. Couldn't figure it out, contacted the vendors, vendors asked that I send them in for testing, and was told each time that the device was defective. Of course, don't know if it was the chip, the wiring, the 510, or something else.
Perhaps there was an issue with some defective components slipping through on a manufacturing run. Happens to the best of them sometimes.

Anyone had recurring faulty chip issues with the DNA75? I've returned two SDNAs, a lavabox 75, and a vapedroid 75. Each time, after testing (or so the vendor said) the device was found faulty and I was sent a new one. The vapedroid replacement seems good. Still waiting to receive replacements for the other two.

Never had such bad luck with devices!

Anybody having success in get the mod to display the selected "charging" screen options once the charger is plugged in? Mine just stays the same as the "running" screen settings with no change at all.
my sdna 75 works fine with that.

I must be doing something wrong. I can't get it to work on any of my dna mods, never have been able to. All the other settings and graphics work perfect but the charge screen settings just don't work. When I download from the mod the settings are correct so the upload is obviously working.

My DNA75 "charge screen" setting are:
Charge percentage
Battery voltage
Fahrenheit

There is no real good 3rd option in my opinion, on the DNA200, you have the choice of USB voltage, which I use, but that choice is not available for DNA75's, confirmed in the Escribe forum.

If you are downloading your setting, then making those charge menu changes, then SAVING those settings, then uploading back to the mod, you should see them, but it takes 15 seconds or longer for the screen to change after you plug it in to a USB power source.

The way I use Escribe, is when I first connect my mod, it uploads it's saved settings, but I immediately open my custom named file for that particular mod, then make my changes, then SAVE my custom file, and upload that back to the mod. Try that.

As far as screen brightness, mine is bright, check your Escribe settings. I only dim my screen while its in charge mode.

Nope, my 200's and 75's are the same.... some manufacturers put tented plastic over the display I think.... what device do you have...?

I believe he has the LavaBox. I had a DNA200 version, got rid of it, but they had a fairly dark plastic screen on that model, maybe it's the same on their DNA75 version?

I hate it when I have to quote my own posts because it usually means I got something wrong; and I did...lol:rolleyes:
The "charging" display settings work fine on all my dnas now that I figured out what was happening.
HEADS UP: The Fade setting for the charging display brightness defaults to 0% so when the "Idle" display timed out I never got to see the "charging" display. I reset the timers and charging display brightness and all is good now. :thumb:

It is very dark Mac. When I bought it I assumed that it had a protective plastic film over the dark tinted bezel. It doesn't... my bad again....I'm not having a great week...lol
Why did you ditch your Lavabox dna200 Mac? Battery capacity?

Oh almost forgot, locking the base res at room temp allows me to change out the bat without loosing base res whether the atty is hot or not. Much better than waiting for the atty to cool down.

My attys are all res stable and don't require res lock but no probs, I haven't seen a tc mod yet that will refine to a higher base res than originally set. Most will refine to a lower base res for improved tc accuracy and where there is less chance of over powering a build.

I liked the feel of the Vaporshark better. Didn't like the hard plastic feel. Other then that it vaped exactly the same. There was no DNA75 at the time either, I don't need or use close to 200 watts, that's why I've been collecting 75's, though whenever I pick up the shark, I'm still amazed how small it is for any mod, especially a DNA200. Glad you got it figured out, I'd forgotten about the default screen dim, that's why I suggested you check ALL the Escribe settings, there are a lot spread out over multiple windows. Enjoy!

Researching this a bit more and am seeing a few user's posts similar to this:

"The screens are not all made by the same manufacture. So the color and brightness can vary. I have 13 DNA200 myself (two Triades) and I haven't seen any to be off more than 20%brightness from another."

I also recall a while back there was a fire at a display manufacturer facility and displays had to be obtained by other manufacturers.

Volcano in particular uses decently tinted screen protectors on both lavaboxes. The DNA screens generally have been pretty close in brightness. The difference has been in color hues. Some being almost completely white and others being warmer with a yellow hue. Now a yellow hue might be worse off behind a tinted cover.

Question for the escribe-savvy folks. Can the DNA75 3 button press fire lock function be adjusted, changed to say 5 presses? I sometimes "feather" the button when using it, activate the 3-press lock function unintentionally. Thanks!

I thought it came standard as 5 clicks. Anyway if you go to the Theme tab in Escribe, the 10th box down is the "Locked click 5X" & on the far right you can change the value to whatever you want

Yes it can be changed in the Theme tab in Escribe. You can set it to 5 there. That won't change the screen though, it will still say Locked Click 3X if that what it presently says. If you want to change it to 5 here's a screen that you can upload that will take care of the screen matching the amount of presses.

Here's where you change the amount of button presses. Make sure after making changes you click on "Upload Settings to Device" at the top of Escribe to save the changes to your mod.

The SDNA 75 default is set at 3 clicks. I had to change it. Non conformity amongst my DNAs is unacceptable. [emoji1]
